Just looking at another thread where someone thinks they are at or near coordinates: 4.815 LAT, 162.342 LONG. - I checked it on Google Earth so i could get an idea about how long it would take a floating point on a map to go from that coordinate to the Sunda Trench. (Earth is approx 24,000 in circumference and so a floating point would traverse approx. 1,000 miles in an hour). This didn't add up to the 31 Minute delay that Faraday observed (That coordinate is around 3,000 miles from the trench and it would take 3-hours for a point to traverse from one to the other.)
But... I found something else out of interest:
Sydney is approx: 2,750 miles from that Coordinate.
Sydney is also 2,750 miles from parts of the Sunda Trench.
Sydney is also 2,750 miles from Antarctica (in the area of many research facilities near the Adare Peninsula). There are of course, many points around that distance from Sydney in Antarctica, but I found it interesting that all three locations are approx the same distance from it.
It would make sense in a multi-dimensional LOST world. (The plane could go in any direction from Australia - land on the Island in one dimension, land in the trench in another... etc.
Anyway - I thought it was interesting.
