I found it strange the first time we saw Jacob's cabin, there was a framed painting of a dog on the wall. Now I find it odd that Ben is holed up in a vet's office with dog kennels everywhere.

On a seperate note, Jacob is a 'god-like' figure and dog backwards is god...maybe a little connection there.

I don't see this as being important. But, I mean who knows? There has always been something wierd about Vincent though, that is for sure.

There was a little bit of a discussion about the dogs in the kennel/vet's office in the thread called "The Dogs (http://thefuselage.com/Threaded/showthread.php?t=89020)". It may be of interest to note that the dogs all have similar markings to one another, and to the dogs in the posters on the walls.

There's also a whole full-blown theory about the role of yellow Labrador retrievers. You may find this discussed here in the Fuselage some place (sorry, I don't know exactly where), or referenced in Lostpedia here (http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Retrievers_of_Truth).

No. It is a very serious theory. Cerberus aka Smokie would be Jacob's ghostly dog.

wow - most excellent point. I had missed that reference to dogs - probably the most important one!

There was also this e-mail I got in connection with the LOST Experience about Yellow Labs. It was about how they had a slightly different brain than other dogs or something, more advanced, and were prone to esp? I don't remember it very well, but it was very interesting.

The dog is just Carlton Cuse's dog. No special significance. Just a painting from his own house.
