Varda

I HIT 10,000 POSTS!

Now, to clear things up, that includes Games posts. They may not count towards Pilot, but I have hit the Post button 10,000 times. Well, technically more times than that with the time limits attacking and when others have posted right before me, but we won't get into that. LET'S JUST PARTAY!!!!!!!!!

WhiteSapphire
03-18-2005, 09:20 PM
Woohoo! So sorry I wasn't here for the 10,000th post. Congrats! 'Tis truely an awesome feat.

Varda
03-18-2005, 09:56 PM
You may have been. I was actually 19 over when I checked... oopsie....

WhiteSapphire
03-18-2005, 10:32 PM
I can't believe you were so negligent.

The boards are slow tonight.

Varda
03-18-2005, 10:54 PM
yes, they are. im kinda busy chatting with friends though, which is good

WhiteSapphire
03-18-2005, 10:56 PM
Other friends, huh? ::) Fine.

theG
03-18-2005, 10:58 PM
It's okay, WS. I'm here. We can talk about the difference between "will" and "shall."

(Did you see my proper usage of quotation marks?)

WhiteSapphire
03-18-2005, 11:00 PM
*claps for theG*

Umm . . . I've got a better one--the other day I looked up the difference between continuously and continually. :o Yeah. I wish I could explain it to you, but I didn't really get it myself.

theG
03-18-2005, 11:07 PM
Continual is chiefly restricted to what is intermittent or repeated at intervals: The continual banging of the shutter in the wind gave me a headache. Continuous implies lack of interruption: The horizon is a continuous line.

I sort of "get" it.

WhiteSapphire
03-18-2005, 11:09 PM
Oh, I see. Did you find the site with the guy (really specific, yeah) who writes articles about these things? That one was good.

theG
03-18-2005, 11:10 PM
No.

I got that information from dictionary.com :-\

WhiteSapphire
03-18-2005, 11:12 PM
This guy. He's really cool.

http://www.word-detective.com/

theG
03-18-2005, 11:16 PM
He. Is. Amazing.

My favorite word is "palaver."* No one else seems to love it as much as I do.

Varda
03-18-2005, 11:17 PM
my my... im friends with English freaks....

WhiteSapphire
03-18-2005, 11:18 PM
I don't know that word. :( Neither does Google apparently. Please enlighten me.

English and cleaning! You sure you're still my friend, V?

Varda
03-18-2005, 11:21 PM
Yea.... you still like Lost, don't you?

theG
03-18-2005, 11:22 PM
I spelled it incorrectly. *I shouldn't be posting on the 'Lage while I'm half-asleep.

WhiteSapphire
03-18-2005, 11:23 PM
Yeaup! You know what, V? I need to make it to Business Class before you move out!

So, what was the word, G?

theG
03-18-2005, 11:23 PM
The word was "palaver." I've gone back to edit my post.

WhiteSapphire
03-18-2005, 11:24 PM
Sure, now you'll just confuse everyone. ;)

theG
03-18-2005, 11:25 PM
I hope I do confuse everyone. I lurve it when that happens.

WhiteSapphire
03-18-2005, 11:27 PM
I'd never heard that word before. I'm not sure if I can even pronounce it.

Varda
03-18-2005, 11:28 PM
well, I would go to that thing tomorrow to protest the 2nd anniversary of the war, but id rather post on here and get farther ahead of you... or sleep...

that word sounds like a french verb

theG
03-18-2005, 11:30 PM
Puh-la (Long "a" sound)-vuhr

That's the best I got *:-\

It hasn't been used in centuries, and that's why you haven't heard it.

WhiteSapphire
03-18-2005, 11:30 PM
I never took French.

Get ahead of me in posts that count or total posts?

Varda
03-18-2005, 11:31 PM
i dont know..... i should try to catch up to your Games posts

WhiteSapphire
03-18-2005, 11:32 PM
But then you'll be like 2000 ahead of me in total posts.

Varda
03-18-2005, 11:33 PM
maybe. you could catch up to me w/ posts that count though

WhiteSapphire
03-18-2005, 11:34 PM
I'm trying, but you have quite a head start on me.

Varda
03-18-2005, 11:36 PM
true.... and then that would leave O and G ready to catch up... i kinda like the number one spot, ive made a grove in the cushion

WhiteSapphire
03-18-2005, 11:37 PM
I WAS NUMBER ONE ONCE!

theG
03-18-2005, 11:39 PM
You're number one is spirit, WS.

Varda
03-18-2005, 11:41 PM
I know, so was Ophelia. and I really don't mind #2. but the crown was made for me. and I get scared that the grove may swallow you guys, which wouldnt be good

theG
03-18-2005, 11:42 PM
I'm not number one material. I've no problems with being in the top ten.

Varda
03-18-2005, 11:51 PM
an ocasional break is nice. though i haven't stepped into controversy much, it could be on the verge... ready to strike... and the posters will need a fair leader other than Karri

theG
03-19-2005, 08:24 AM
I'm surprised I haven't gotten into too much trouble yet. I'm always bossing people around.

WhiteSapphire
03-19-2005, 08:32 AM
I'm surprised too. ::)

theG
03-19-2005, 08:34 AM
One of these days it's going to come back to bite me in the buttocks...

bri_nic23
03-19-2005, 10:42 AM
I bet you would jump a mile high!

theG
03-19-2005, 10:44 AM
I bet I'll be able to see your house from all the way up there.

bri_nic23
03-19-2005, 10:47 AM
My house is underground...doubt it!

theG
03-19-2005, 11:43 AM
I have X-ray vision. :chris:

bri_nic23
03-19-2005, 11:45 AM
It's got a giant magnaetic blanket over it.....

theG
03-19-2005, 11:47 AM
DON'T TELL ME WHAT I CAN'T DO!!!

WhiteSapphire
03-19-2005, 11:49 AM
I bet you can't use TWO exclamation points!!

;)

theG
03-19-2005, 11:51 AM
I bet you can't end a sentence with a preposition even though it sounds preposterous to say "To whom are you speaking?" as opposed to "Who are you speaking to?".

WhiteSapphire
03-19-2005, 11:53 AM
You know what kills me? People who say, "Want to come with?" "Us" is just one more word! Or they can just say, "Want to come?" and say one fewer word!

theG
03-19-2005, 11:54 AM
Everyone in Pennsylvania does that!

WhiteSapphire
03-19-2005, 11:55 AM
It's spreading. 'Tis a real shame.

bri_nic23
03-19-2005, 11:56 AM
I agree--I don't get it!

theG
03-19-2005, 11:57 AM
I know so many people who are taking Honors English next year, but they still don't know the correct usage of the words "well" and "good."

WhiteSapphire
03-19-2005, 11:59 AM
My little sister used to know them, because I taught her when she was little. Then she went to school and got all deprogrammed and stuff.

theG
03-19-2005, 12:03 PM
My mother married a man who had very little knowledge of proper grammar and word usage. She started to speak in the same manner. She even started calling me "girl" instead of my name. That was the only time I really wanted to scoop her eyeballs out, figuratively speaking of course.

Varda
03-19-2005, 05:02 PM
I misuse good and well, not because I think it is right, it just sounds better.

BurningStar4
03-19-2005, 05:10 PM
Congratulations Varda! :)

Are you the first person to do this?

WhiteSapphire
03-19-2005, 05:11 PM
I misuse good and well, not because I think it is right, it just sounds better.

It doesn't sound better to me. >:(

Varda
03-19-2005, 05:13 PM
yea, im #1

it doesnt sound better all the time, but a good amount of the time it just has a better ring

BurningStar4
03-19-2005, 05:15 PM
Varda you should put "I'm #1" in your sig :)

Varda
03-19-2005, 05:21 PM
Naw, partying is enough. Though since we kind of think that Pilot was at 10,000 you could say me being Pilot of my Paper Airplane is a bit of meaning I am pilot with Games.

BurningStar4
03-19-2005, 05:23 PM
I want to know what the thing is for Pilot, if its stars or something different, too bad we couldnt find out with you :(

WhiteSapphire
03-19-2005, 05:23 PM
Yeah, and I can join the party in less than 1000 posts!

BurningStar4
03-19-2005, 05:23 PM
Oh and Varda, you can be the Pilot of Air Force One...you know since I'm President and all *:lol2: *The VP is flying the plane!

Varda
03-19-2005, 05:28 PM
YEA! I'll be doing my vice-presidential duties, flying the plane, and playing the bagpipes at the same time! it will be amazing! Weseh will always be my right hand man though.

and well, I still could find out, though it will take a while.

WhiteSapphire
03-19-2005, 05:30 PM
Yeah, you're still in line to be the first Pilot, V. That is, as long as there are no more setbacks. ;)

Varda
03-19-2005, 05:34 PM
If they decided every post has to be Lost-related I'm totally screwed. I'm just not used to staying on topic. there is always someone else who says what I want to say, and with the site how it is now it doesn't seem joke theories are really welcome.

BurningStar4
03-19-2005, 05:36 PM
Yea if the posts were only coutned as lost related I'd be screwed as well. I post in a lot of LOST topics, but the majority is in chit chat/group ships

WhiteSapphire
03-19-2005, 05:37 PM
Yeah, and if you don't watch the episode the night it airs and if you don't read spoilers, there really isn't much to say anyway. I mean, I read lots of stuff, but I never had anything to add if I didn't get there right away, and I hate posting superfluous threads.

BurningStar4
03-19-2005, 05:38 PM
Yea people post while the episode is airing....and I don't like that cause I don't have much to add afterwards either

theG
03-19-2005, 05:38 PM
Sometimes Chit Chat stuff is LOST-related *has said this on numerous occasions, but enjoys being superfluous*.

WhiteSapphire
03-19-2005, 05:39 PM
Ms. Bossypants is always superfluous. :P

peanutbutter101
03-19-2005, 05:42 PM
I would be really screwed if they had everything not count that isn't LOST related. I've only posted twice in the episodes section and many more times in the Charlie section but that's about it! *sigh*

BurningStar4
03-19-2005, 05:42 PM
Too bad there wasn't a "Grudge" section, we'd own that

Varda
03-19-2005, 05:43 PM
ha! you could make a scary movies thread...

theG
03-19-2005, 05:44 PM
Overall, I'd say I would be screwed but not as screwed as you guys.

BurningStar4
03-19-2005, 05:44 PM
Peanut, make a scary movies thread

Varda
03-19-2005, 05:48 PM
I don't really care anymore if I'm pilot first, though I guess it really looks that way since I post in Chit Chat now that Games doesn't count. Just, Games has changed. Still fun to go and post in, but still not the same.

WhiteSapphire
03-19-2005, 05:50 PM
Yeah, except for the Help-or-Hurt game, the people that post in games now are different. They really only post in games . . .

peanutbutter101
03-19-2005, 05:51 PM
*runs to go make a scary movies thread*

Varda
03-19-2005, 05:54 PM
yea, there is somebody who has a goal never to increase their post count. which is actually pretty cool.

BurningStar4
03-19-2005, 05:55 PM
How do they avoid getting a post count

peanutbutter101
03-19-2005, 05:56 PM
That.is.insane! By posting in the game section all of the time and lurking the other sections.

BurningStar4
03-19-2005, 05:57 PM
Ah okay....that sucks though then they cant post in other sections

Varda
03-19-2005, 05:59 PM
well, they could if they want to. they just don't want to

WhiteSapphire
03-19-2005, 06:02 PM
I also feel like we kinda got yelled at for posting in games so much, so I don't like to go there anymore.

Varda
03-19-2005, 06:04 PM
hopefully they won't yell too much about Chit Chat...

BurningStar4
03-19-2005, 06:04 PM
Well it's here....what are we supposed to do, not post here?

WhiteSapphire
03-19-2005, 06:05 PM
I wouldn't count on it . . . oh, well. I'm not going to be spending much more time here, once my project at work starts for real, so I'm just enjoying it while I'm still here.

Varda
03-19-2005, 06:08 PM
I'm just a bit edgy about it.

WhiteSapphire
03-19-2005, 06:09 PM
They can't take my time online away from me! :whistling2:

Varda
03-19-2005, 06:12 PM
ha! they can't take away how long I've been here

WhiteSapphire
03-19-2005, 06:13 PM
And it's fun to see how many times I can make it to Business Class. ;)

Varda
03-19-2005, 06:16 PM
that is fun...

bri_nic23
03-20-2005, 11:17 AM
Are you all feeling edgy about it too?
