View Full Version : How to Explain Charlie...

Jack saying on the witness stand (and apparently on numerous other occasions) that 8 survived the crash got me to wondering... How have the Oceanic 6 explained Charlies death? Penny talked to him right before his death, he obviously was doing great then, and then perhaps just a few days later the O-6 are rescued? How do they explain what happened to Charlie?

Thoughts?

Doesn't this episode just raise all kinds of questions like that? It's possible that there was not a camera in the Looking Glass, and that Penny only got audio.

Good point AnalogKid... I never thought of the audio-only theory...

Possibly he was part of the 8 Jack spoke of?!

2 died after coming ashore it sounds like.

Not sure video matters at all--Charlie identified himself as Charlie Pace of Oceanic 815. But the original question is interesting. Does this imply something about Penny? An Oceanic 815 survivor contacts her talking about Desmond? Raises all sorts of interesting questions.

When Desmond was shot at and swam down into the looking glass, I think he changed his premonition or prophecy or whatever. Or, by telling Charlie about the premonition, also changed the timeline...... I think Desmond is not supposed to do or say anything about what he sees or it changes the outcome. Because of Desmond, our poor Claire will somehow die and Aaron will be left to Kate. I dont see any other way Claire would allow Aaron off the island without her. Oh, wow just thought of something, what if something goes horribly wrong in Johns Camp and Hurley survives with Aaron and they both make it to the beach. This is why Hurley is so upset that he went with John over Jack???

Perhaps Penny kept quiet to protect Desmond or to get him off the island? If they (whoever they turn out to be) did not want the true story of 815 to come out they would not want to showcase a non 815 island survivor. Silence or cooperation as the price of freedom?

This sounds like a plausible explanation, it makes sense.
