Why is everyone convinced that Claire does not leave the island. Desmond's visions have been true to date. Perhaps she and Aaron do leave together and then something happens to her. Obviously it would have to happen soon than later, because Aaron thinks Kate is his mom.

If Claire were to leave the island and then die, or die in the process, I highly doubt they would allow a wanted fugitive to take over custody of the child.

Side note: We weren't actually shown Desmond's vision. Even if his vision was of Claire and Aaron getting on a helicopter, who's to say it's a rescue chopper? My theory is that is isn't the Freighties that get the 06 (and whoever else may leave) off the island. Desmond could have seen Claire and Aaron getting on the chopper he rode on, but in my theory it isn't a chopper that would save them. We just don't know yet.

Maybe something happens on the freighter or at some point between the chopper and the mainland. I figure that the freighter people are not going to take her into custody. i would be willing to bet that something happens to the freighter people, because if not they could blow the whole only 8 survived lie.
