View Full Version : The night owl caffe (A chat thread)
sifichick 03-22-2005, 02:32 AM So who else has insomnia and can't sleep through the night?
Anyway I thought it would be fun to have a thread for the night owls of the Lage.
Superman 03-22-2005, 02:41 AM lately i've been getting to bed at around 4 or 5 am... better than last week though... went to bed then at like 7 or 8am... i'm not even doing anything really...
Rock Goddess 03-22-2005, 02:42 AM I'm definately a night owl. *I rarely ever sleep through the night, even on the rare occasions I can even get to sleep at a decent hour. *::) *Gives me plenty of Fuse time, though. *;) My brain is just on a different timetable - it only kicks into gear after midnight.

Aurora10 03-22-2005, 02:43 AM So am I...plus, I'm on spring break so yeah. How is everyone?!?!
Superman 03-22-2005, 02:44 AM i don't even get spring break... ack...
Aurora10 03-22-2005, 02:45 AM :( Awwww, sorry bout that.

I'm on spring break too :)
Altho i have to get up at 11 tomorrow/today :P

sifichick 03-22-2005, 02:55 AM I hope it's nothing serious Locke.
I too have to wake up tomorrow. I have to work at 4pm. That's when the girls get home from school and I need to be there when the older girl gets home.
I'm a nanny and I specialize in kids with major disabilities.
Danny 03-22-2005, 03:02 AM Nope, it's not thx :)
Just a re check to make sure i'm doing alright with medicine and stuff which i am :)
Haha, wednesday i have another chiropractor appointment to check up on me. My back has been a really butthead to me but it's finally feeling back to normal thank God! :P
I really should get going haha.
BurningStar4 03-22-2005, 03:15 AM I am such a night owl :( I wish I wasn't....I have college that I have to wake up for too so that sucks, but I seem to manage. I usually go to bed around 4-5am
Superman 03-22-2005, 03:17 AM jeez, BurningStar, i feel like i'm shadowing your moves on this site :lol2: i scheduled my classes so i don't have to get up in the early morning... the only time i have to get up early is on wednesdays and thursdays for internship..
BurningStar4 03-22-2005, 03:18 AM Yea I have scheduled my classes in the afternoon since I started school  I only have classes Mon-Wed though because 2 of them are online classes 8)
Superman 03-22-2005, 03:25 AM yeah this semester, i've got one class monday afternoon, one class tuesday night, and an online class ;D i've been such a slacker this semester, it's not even close...
BurningStar4 03-22-2005, 03:27 AM I have 2 classes on Mon Wed, one class on Tues...then 2 classes online, my classes suck this semester so I've been busy studying lots :(
Superman 03-22-2005, 03:29 AM oh, what are you studying? the only brutal class i have right now is psychopharmacology... jinkys... honestly, it's not that bad...
BurningStar4 03-22-2005, 03:35 AM I'm a psych major, sociology minor. I'm taking Psychology of Personality and I'm taking Political Science, Philosophy, Women's Studies and African American Studies (The last 4 I have to take because of the stupid "core") ::) I've got a lot of the classes I need to take for my major out of the way though, so thats good :)
I took Psychological Statistics last semester and that sucked but I somehow managed to get a B, and I have taken a pharmacology class which sucked as well but also managed to get a B
Superman 03-22-2005, 03:38 AM that's awesome... i'm in my 3rd year of grad school getting my doctorate for clinical psychology... the classes i was most worried about coming in were stats and psychopharm... stats was actually a breeze (having a great prof helped too), and psychopharm is manageable... i did well on the first exam, but the prof said the grade range was from the 40s to mid 90s... jinkys!
Aurora10 03-22-2005, 03:39 AM I only have classes on Mon, Wed, and Fri from 9:30-2:20 (4 classes a day). I'm SO pissed. I went to go get advised cause I wanted to go into physical therapy. Yeah, I don't even remember the reasons why but I can't go into it. It wasn't cause of grades or anything cause I'm going good in everything. I was just too mad to pay attention to why I couldn't. There was a CRAP load of sciences to take and all I remember is the lady saying that if I took those courses, I would be at the same level as a pre-med student. Well, now, I have no idea what to do. Nothing else really interests me. I'm frustrated! *:-\

I only have a year left before I graduate Undergrad, then I'm going into Grad school right after for Forensic Psych. Do you know what you plan to do after you graduate? Stats and pharmacology for me sucked because my professors were just, out there.

That really sucks Aurora...what about massage therapy?
sifichick 03-22-2005, 03:49 AM I'm thinking of going back to school and getting my degree in Psychology. I'd love to specifically work with kids. I've always been fascinated with how the brain works.

right now (my interests are always subject to change with every bit of experience i get), i'm really interested in the field of neuropsychology... working with kids and adolescents with brain injuries, that sort of thing... doing neuro assessments and some therapy... i'm interviewing at a children's hospital for my 2nd internship and if i get it, the unit i'll be assigned to deals with that type of stuff, so i'll know for sure about it, if i get placed there

i can totally understand where you're coming from, Aurora... i'm sorry, that really sucks... a friend of mine is studying in the field of occupational therapy...

That's really interesting, but way too scientific for me
Aurora10 03-22-2005, 03:55 AM I don't know what I'm going to do. I am a good writer but I don't know if I would want to go into that. I'll have to look into a lot more careers. I really wanted to be a p. therapist...I had knee surgery in december and had to go through therapy. I really liked what they did and it would be awesome to help out people who went through the same thing as me. That lady that told me I couldn't major in it was saying so much stuff so I was like, "What?!?!" Being mad didn't help either...I wish I would have payed attention to see why exactly I couldn't. Ugh. Still mad.
sifichick 03-22-2005, 03:57 AM Good luck solidstealth I hope you get the internship.

Aurora, i'd definitely go back and ask the lady why you can't... maybe if you cause a big enough fuss, they'll let you...
Superman 03-22-2005, 03:59 AM Good luck solidstealth I hope you get the internship.
thanks, sifichick!* :) i hope i get it too
BurningStar4 03-22-2005, 04:01 AM Aurora, I don't see how someone can tell you what you can't do with your own life, just tell them off or something haha
sifichick 03-22-2005, 04:01 AM Aurora10 next time you go take a tape recorder with you. That way you can sit and go over it later and see if there was anything you missed.
Aurora10 03-22-2005, 04:02 AM I still might do that BUT the more I think about it, the more I don't want to go into PT. I freaked out at all of the science classes I had to take plus, I have to take calculus. Uh uh...I don't think. I've NEVER liked science...I really don't like it. I'm more of an english person so that's another reason why I must just not go back.
Good luck solidstealth!
Aurora10 03-22-2005, 04:03 AM Aurora, I don't see how someone can tell you what you can't do with your own life, just tell them off or something haha
You're very right! A tape recorder would be good, too.

yeah i used to be a bio major, i wanted to be a pediatrician... then, i got all the way to organic chemistry... can we say, bloodbath? extremely in-depth stuff like that just did not interest me at all... oh, and calculus sucked too... then again, it had been 3 full semesters before i had to take calculus, so that didn't help... thanks, Aurora *;D
Aurora10 03-22-2005, 04:07 AM You're welcome! I know you can get the internship. ;D
Yeah, science is not my thing. :P I do like anatomy and physiology but that's it.
BurningStar4 03-22-2005, 04:07 AM Aurora you might like massage therapy, a friend of mine is doing it and I don't think she had to take much science, maybe one or two classes. *But even I had to take 2 sciences and 2 maths and I'm a psych major ::) *You could also be an English teacher, or some other type of teacher/professor
sifichick 03-22-2005, 04:10 AM I also have a friend that took Massage theripy. It's taken him just over a year and a half to become certified. From what he told me there is alot of memory work involved in it.
Aurora10 03-22-2005, 04:11 AM Teaching....probably not. Nah. lol Massage therapy would be cool. Yeah, everyone has to take science and math. *:P
Superman 03-22-2005, 04:12 AM that's what i don't understand... what do people in the field of massage therapy need to know about the pythagoras theorem? it's like, ok so it's sore here, hmm, lemme get out my graphing calculator...
Aurora10 03-22-2005, 04:15 AM lmao!!!
BurningStar4 03-22-2005, 04:16 AM Haha so true ::)
Aurora10 03-22-2005, 04:20 AM I hate that they make people take classes that have NOTHING to do with your major. Doesn't make sense and it wastes money. lol
Superman 03-22-2005, 04:21 AM i know right... i understand the part about making us more well-rounded, but then why don't they make us take those kinds of classes in grad school too?
Aurora10 03-22-2005, 04:22 AM Good point. lol
BurningStar4 03-22-2005, 04:24 AM Because college is nothing more then a money making institution :)
Aurora10 03-22-2005, 04:27 AM Haha, yup. Well friends, I'm going to sleep now...well, after Hans stops his interview. Yes, I'm watching it again. I love it! Anyways, talk to you all tomorrow...I mean later on today. Goodnight!!! ;)
***When will you wear wigs?***
Superman 03-22-2005, 04:29 AM that interview is one of the funniest things i've ever seen.... that and Mad TV's Kenny Roger's Punk'd... have any of you seen that? why Will Sasso does an impression of Kenny Rogers as a raving psychotic alcoholic, i have no idea, but it's hilarious!
mornight, Aurora!
BurningStar4 03-22-2005, 04:32 AM When Will Sasso impersonates Kenny Rogers it is hysterical. I also loved it when Trudy impersonated him on Reno 911 :lol2:
Stewart was always my favorite part about MADTV though, as well as the lady who is kind of nuts and wants a baby really bad, and Ms. Swan of course!
But I have to go study some more, talk to you all later :) Night!
Rock Goddess 03-22-2005, 04:33 AM I still might do that BUT the more I think about it, the more I don't want to go into PT. Ah, math and science, the downfall of my college ambitions. *Actually, it's just the math part that's the problem...I've always understood the theories in science, but I've never been able to grasp the math behind it all. *I've always been an English person....I think in essays, not equations. *:)
Good luck with the internship, solidstealth! *:-*
~ RG
Superman 03-22-2005, 04:38 AM I've always been an English person....I think in essays, not equations.* :)
Good luck with the internship, solidstealth!* :-*
thanks, RG* :)* people who think in essays are more impressive... equations are set and structured... english people have range and creativity
But I have to go study some more, talk to you all later :) Night!
good luck studying, BurningStar!! mornight!
Rock Goddess 03-22-2005, 04:51 AM LOL, well that's one way of thinking of it! I wish someone would tell me family that....they're the kind who translate "creavitity" us "useless day-dreaming." :lol2:
It's rather sad, I "negotiated" my way through school...I would trade insights on "Wuthering Heights" and "Hamlet" and revise my friend's essays for them, in trade for peeks at the math and science homework answers. It was an efficient system, too. I was the English teacher's aide, and my best friend was our Math teacher's aide. So we could sneak peaks at upcoming essay topics and test questions, and trade info. I'm sure I could've done just fine on my own, but I lacked proper motivation. I've never been able to get excited over a bunch of numbers (well, until Lost - and I only worried over those for one night, then said screw it).
~ RG
miss emme 03-22-2005, 04:58 AM I took Math in College and did really well A-. English isn't one of my strong subjects, in high school I missed half my grade twelve English and of course failed.
BurningStar4 03-23-2005, 01:20 AM When does the night owl cafe open? lol
Aurora10 03-23-2005, 01:31 AM Now! ;D
BurningStar4 03-23-2005, 01:34 AM Good because I'm going to freak out if I have to study anymore....I'm putting it off for like another half hour or so  Chatting with people will keep me sane, for a lil bit.
Aurora10 03-23-2005, 01:36 AM It's always good to take a break. lol What time is your philosophy class?
BurningStar4 03-23-2005, 01:39 AM 2:30 in the afternoon....I'm gonna attempt to wake up somewhat early and continue to study, somewhat early to me is like 10:30  One of my friends from school is in that class with me and I asked her today if she had been studying and shes like "no....but I guess I should" lol, she is going to fail, I'll probably fail and I've studied!
Just for some history:
In this class, we had to translate this 18th century english philosophy mumbo jumbo to modern english, the paper was like 8 pages long....it took me over a week!!! And I got a C+, my friend she got an F!....and a couple ppl in the class got a B- which was the highest grade, so this shows you what I'm dealing with lol
Aurora10 03-23-2005, 01:54 AM Wow! That seems hard. Haha...10:30 is early for me, too. I love sleeping in. That's good that it's later in the afternoon.
BurningStar4 03-23-2005, 01:57 AM Yea tell me about it, if it was in the morning I'd fail for sure....sleeping in is the most wonderful thing :) And it pains me to wake up earlier then I want to, like this morning *sigh*
Just be careful when you take Philosophy. If your school has some sort of website where you can see information about your professors I'd highly check that out and make sure you get a good prof! Sadly, this professor is the best one at my school in that department, I guess they're all really hard, but I hear my prof curves, so I guess that will help us out in the end.
BurningStar4 03-23-2005, 02:15 AM Where are all my night owls at?
fanofangel 03-23-2005, 02:17 AM Morning BS, I'm here but I'm getting ready to go watch American Idol (I Tivoed I was at work earlier) so I won't be around but for a few. Maybe I'll check back in before I go to bed.
Aurora10 03-23-2005, 02:18 AM ::raises hand:: I'm here! lol
Grading on a curve is awesome for a hard class. lol Yeah, I'll make sure to get some recommendations on a philosophy teacher. *I'm taking this history class and my prof. is Japanese with a thick accent. I can understand him most of the time but the thing is, when I was getting advised, my adviser said he was hard. I thought she *just* meant he was hard cause of his accent. Nope, the class is hard. We're having a test on this book about immigration next Monday. He was like, "You should know this book backwards and fowards." Shyeah right! lol
BurningStar4 03-23-2005, 02:19 AM LOL! Good luck with that Aurora, you better memorize every single line ;) :P If the book is on sparknotes, print out a summary haha.
FanofAngel, AI was pretty decent tonight, I think you'll enjoy it :)
Superman 03-23-2005, 02:20 AM i haven't watched an ep of american idol since season 2...
Aurora10 03-23-2005, 02:21 AM I checked on SparkNotes last week and NOPE! Nothing on it!!! I was so mad! lmao I guess I'll go memorize right now. Bye. lol Just kidding.
BurningStar4 03-23-2005, 02:23 AM i haven't watched an ep of american idol since season 2...
I'm watching this year cause I have met Constantine Maroulis a couple times when his band has played at various places in NY, and I also saw him in Rent....and he's hot, what can I say. So I'm rooting for him.
I checked on SparkNotes last week and NOPE! Nothing on it!!! I was so mad! lmao I guess I'll go memorize right now. Bye. lol Just kidding.
LOL...yea don't take my advice literally :P ::) If the book isn't terribly long I would suggest just making some notes about each chapter....that should work.
Aurora10 03-23-2005, 02:26 AM Nope, this one is a long book. Very boring. :P No, memorizing would be good. I think I should do that. :lol2: j/k!
BurningStar4 03-23-2005, 02:27 AM Well you're in a pickle Aurora :-\ Good luck on the test, that's all I can say!! Maybe Ian will guide your pencil :P
Aurora10 03-23-2005, 02:32 AM That's right! lol! Ian will guide my pencil and Johnny shalll guide yours. Yay! We're going to pass. lol
BurningStar4 03-23-2005, 02:33 AM or fail depending on how smart they are :P
CruCheri 03-23-2005, 02:35 AM Aurora,
check to see if your library has a netlibrary account. If they do, then you can check to see if they have the Cliifs notes for the book. *Just a tip from someone who works in a library!
Star! Long time no see chica! How goes things with you?
Cheri
BurningStar4 03-23-2005, 02:36 AM CHERI!!!! Hey woman!
Sorry everytime you IM me on AIM I am doing something! Like on the phone with my mother lol.
I am so busy studying, but taking a break, how are you!?
CruCheri 03-23-2005, 02:38 AM Star, lol, I am actually sick right now! I have a really bad case of bronchitis and am only up because I just had a really bad coughing spell! :)
Aurora10 03-23-2005, 02:39 AM Hope you get better Cheri!!! Just look at your pics of Dom and you'll be all better. ;D
Yeah, that's a good idea! I'll get cliffnotes.
BurningStar4 03-23-2005, 02:40 AM A friend of mine from school has bronchitis too!
I hope you feel better :)
I'm glad to finally talk to you though it's been awhile, I haven't talked to Sandy in awhile either, we've both been busy busy with school.
CruCheri 03-23-2005, 02:42 AM Star, I know! I hope that maybe the 3 of us can have one of our community chats this week-end!
Aurora, thanks. I am sure it will be better in a couple of days.
BurningStar4 03-23-2005, 02:45 AM Hopefully Cheri, I shouldn't be overly busy, I have to stay in most of the weekend and write a 10 page paper! So I may catch you two on at some point in the afternoon or lay night!
Aurora10 03-23-2005, 02:48 AM 10 page paper...why is that ringing a bell? ::thinks:: OH yeah! I have to write one, too! lol
CruCheri 03-23-2005, 02:49 AM hopefully Sandy will be around! I am pretty much going to be here Friday, part of Saturday, and then Sunday! I have to go to my cousin's little girl's birthday party in Austin on Saturday! I can't wait! I get to show off all of my SXSW stuff & the pictures!
BurningStar4 03-23-2005, 02:50 AM Aurora, Doesn't school suck? *:lol2:
Mine is in Psych of Personality, I am writing a paper on Freud, Erikson and Sullivan's different theories on personality development and how they are similar/different and how their outcomes are similar/different, Blaaaaaaah. *And you?
Cheri, well hopefully we'll all be on at the same time, it's been awhile since I have laughed so hard as I do when I'm talking to you two. But have fun in Austin! I bet your cousin will love the pictures!
CruCheri 03-23-2005, 02:53 AM *does a happy dance that I am done with 10 page papers*
Star, I know what you mean! I have missed our laughs! And I am watching your man tomorrow night! I am finally going to watch Finding Neverland! lol
Aurora10 03-23-2005, 02:54 AM Yeah, it does suck. Except for meeting people...that's fun. lol I'm writing my paper on...well, first of all, we had to do a 4 page persuasive paper. My topic was on how foreigners should learn the basics of language before entering another country. So, our actual research paper will be on the same topic but with sources and crap. *:P Not fun.

CruCheri 03-23-2005, 02:59 AM :lol2: Yes, Star, I know that Johnny is HAWT! ;) I would have watched it tonight, but I let my mom and dad take it first because my mom REALLY wanted to watch it!
Aurora10 03-23-2005, 03:01 AM Yes, a very hot pic. *;D Here's another one!

BurningStar4 03-23-2005, 03:04 AM Guys I started a Johnny Depp ship in Group ships, so join if you want!!
Aurora, that pic is so hot! I actually have that as a poster, and it is above my bed mwahaha.
Aurora10 03-23-2005, 03:05 AM It's one of my favs. ::drools::
CruCheri 03-23-2005, 03:06 AM Have a good night ladies! I am going to try to go back to sleep now!
BurningStar4 03-23-2005, 03:09 AM Night Cheri!!
I know Aurora, it is my personal fave! I also like this one picture of him smoking, I'll try to find it....and post it in the Johnny Depp ship and we should probably stop talking about him now, so the other night owls can come out and play lol
Aurora10 03-23-2005, 03:11 AM lol! Good idear!
Goodnight Cheri! Sweet Lost dreams!
BurningStar4 03-23-2005, 03:13 AM Okay guys the J Depp discussion ended, feel free to come out, we won't bite :P

Aurora10 03-23-2005, 03:22 AM Goodnight Star! Sweet Johnny dreams!
sifichick 03-23-2005, 03:58 AM i'm just popping in to say a quick hello and goodnight to all the night owls out there in Lageland.
Superman 03-23-2005, 03:58 AM hi and night, sifichick :)
Aurora10 03-23-2005, 03:59 AM Goodnight!!
BurningStar4 03-24-2005, 01:07 AM Where are all the night owls? I'm bored and need a chat lol
Aurora10 03-24-2005, 01:09 AM Haha, I was just about to look for this thread. Hey BurningStar!!! How did your test go? Did Johnny guide your pencil well?
BurningStar4 03-24-2005, 01:11 AM Hey Aurora!!
Well, my test went well, I answered everything good, I just don't know if its right ;) But I will find out hopefully next week how well Johnny guided my pencil :)
Whats up with you? I hope more people join our chat tonight :(
Aurora10 03-24-2005, 01:16 AM I hope so, too!
Yay! I'm glad you did good! We both know that Johnny helps. lol So what did you think of the preview?!?!?!
BurningStar4 03-24-2005, 01:39 AM I think the preview looks awesome, especially that scene with Boone and the plane aaaah!
Aurora10 03-24-2005, 01:43 AM Let's just say that I ran laps around my house, hit my brother many times, jumped on my mom's lap, spilled water on the floor, screamed, talked 100 words/sec, and screamed some more. ;D
BurningStar4 03-24-2005, 01:50 AM Wow....all I can say is....wow :lol2:
The voice sounded like a lady, ooooo *cue creepy music*
Aurora10 03-24-2005, 01:58 AM ::pulls blanket over head:: Freakiness! lol I have never been this excited for a new episode and that's saying a lot! Go Boone!
BurningStar4 03-24-2005, 01:59 AM I know I am so excited, and I love Locke.....I felt bad in the preview when it looks like he's about to cry about the island taking it back
:(
sifichick 03-24-2005, 01:59 AM :( I was at work so I didn't get to see the preview for next week. Although I had a fantastic time at work. I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooo loving my new job. My boss is the nicest lady and I just LOVE the kids.
So would someone please tell me what happened on the preview. *batts eyes* Pretty Please.
XxNicholeexX 03-24-2005, 02:00 AM I wish I would have found this thread before! I'm always on the Fuse during the night.

If you go to Group Ships and "Lost Who?" (the subboard to Group ships) you can join the Johnny Depp fan club!!! I started it, Aurora is a member as well! And we can talk about him in there....I don't want whatever guys might want to post in here feel uncomfortable with us drooling over him 24/7 :P Plus you can be another member, and it helps us keep the thread alive! There is also a link in that thread to a jdepp fan page with tons of pics and stuff

sifichick 03-24-2005, 02:18 AM Could you not find it sifi?

BurningStar4 03-24-2005, 02:20 AM The preview is there.....
you have to click on it....lol
miss emme 03-24-2005, 02:22 AM There do I get a poster or something :lol2:
BurningStar4 03-24-2005, 02:26 AM I wish....but no :( lol
XxNicholeexX 03-24-2005, 02:29 AM I was reading the French Lady's livejournal and
The title is an anagram for "Boone is a goner" also in the post it says something like "some don't believe me. I do no harm, the death is coming soon. I distract you from alarm. Which makes me think that either Boone does die or Jack does. I also think that the death occurs in "Do No Harm".
BurningStar4 03-24-2005, 02:30 AM Thanks for that awesome info Nicholee, she has always been right
XxNicholeexX 03-24-2005, 02:32 AM Yea, unlike Kristin or anyone else.
Edited- here's the link for anyone who wants it http://www.livejournal.com/users/the_french_lady/2378.html?nc=19
sifichick 03-24-2005, 02:36 AM The preview is there.....

Thank you for letting me know. I'll go check again.
ETA: OMG OMG OMG I CAN'T WAIT! (Yes I just watched it.)
Aurora10 03-24-2005, 03:06 AM Sorry I left for like 30 minutes! It's cause my sister called and we like to talk. lol We had a discussion about Lost, which is always fun. She was also trying to encourage me to screw what my advisers said and to go into physical therapy. I love my sister. lol But guess what?!?!? I just realized something (this is to those of you who know my dilema about going into that major): the lady was saying that she was going to deny my request because I'm not going to be able to go RIGHT into the program. I have to take my 90 hours of pre requisites and THEN apply to the program. I'm thinking again of going ahead with it. I'm just so damn terrified...yes, terrified of taking calculus. So scary. lol So yeah, I'm going to make sure that that is what she was trying to tell me. If it is, then she shouldn't have given me the huge explanation. :lol2:
BurningStar4 03-24-2005, 03:12 AM Aurora, go for it!! You can always get a tutor for calculus or join a study group and work through it! You should do what you want and follow your dream :)
miss emme 03-24-2005, 03:13 AM I remember when l took calculus I was scared of it too. Are you good at math Aurora? If you are you shouldn't have a problem with it. After you get into it its not so bad. Its been awhile since I took it I've probably forgotten everything by now.
Aurora10 03-24-2005, 03:23 AM I've always gotten good grades in math (algebra, algebra 2, geometry) but on the other hand, I almost died in pre-cal (in high school). My teacher SUCKED! Didn't help at all. My dad is good at math so he can always help me and yes, there are lots of tutors. Study groups are what helped me in pre-cal and I'm sure they can help me in calculus. I will always be like this > :fear3: when I think of that subject. lol After I talk to my adviser again to clear things up, I'll make my final decision. I really want to be a physical therapist. Thank you all for your encouraging words. You guys are the best! :flower:
BurningStar4 03-24-2005, 03:24 AM No problem Aurora, anything to help out... :)
miss emme 03-24-2005, 03:27 AM In my opinion the teacher makes or breaks the class. I had one teacher that when he taught the class he would spend the entire class talking to the blackboard. It was tough trying to figger out what he was doing.
Aurora10 03-24-2005, 03:33 AM Teachers like are...blah. There was this one time when me and some other people had a question on this problem. We asked if we were doing the steps right and my teacher said, "Maybe" and left. That was horrible. Plus, he would give us notes and they would be very easy to understand. Once we got to our actual assignment, it was like a totally different subject.
miss emme 03-24-2005, 03:40 AM Gosh it's been so long since I've been near a school. High school was like a weird dream. I liked college much better. The atmosphere was more relaxed and laid back. I remember one class I took a guy was sleeping in the back and the teacher just looked at him and shrugged, he didn't care the guy had paid his tuition fee. It was actually kinda funny thinking back on it.
Aurora10 03-24-2005, 03:45 AM I liked high school a lot and I like college a lot. lol I agree, college is more laid back. Some teachers hate when students fall asleep and some don't. It's funny to see them get in trouble, though. lol I just hate that some of the HUGE classes take attendence. If the student doesn't want to be there, it's their problem. The professor should just be happy that they're getting paid. lol
miss emme 03-24-2005, 03:51 AM Exactly what should it matter too them. They are getting paid to do that class weither that person is there (in mind or body) or not.
miss emme 03-24-2005, 03:52 AM Too change the subject a little anyone watch Carnivale?
Aurora10 03-24-2005, 04:03 AM Nope! What's that? lol I'm probably gonna go now...I'm trying little by little to get off the internet earlier. lol Goodnight everyone! ;D
miss emme 03-24-2005, 04:21 AM Goodnight Aurora, l'm heading to bed too. Carnivale is a series on HBO (I think) I get it on the Movie Channel, Its a weird, creepy, addicting show like Lost. (addicting like lost not weird creepy)
sifichick 03-25-2005, 01:11 AM Hello guys anyone still awake?
XxNicholeexX 03-25-2005, 01:41 AM I'm awake. :)

XxNicholeexX 03-25-2005, 02:16 AM mmm I'm alittle lost on that. I checked the thread what are we suppose to do?
Give one point to Shannon, and take one away from anyone that is not Kate. Please and thank you!
BurningStar4 03-25-2005, 02:43 AM Hey guys :) Whats up?
Superman 03-25-2005, 02:44 AM hey everybody, what's the haps
BurningStar4 03-25-2005, 02:45 AM I am BORED ;D
Superman 03-25-2005, 02:46 AM same here... today was such a looooong day
BurningStar4 03-25-2005, 02:48 AM UGH! I totally hear you!
I had a test I was studying for alllllllll day, a psych test mind you. I took it at 7pm, then had to go to the library to find 10 books for my 10 page paper in psychology, then rented some movies, watched one of them, and now I'm bored and kinda tired, but not sleepy.
Superman 03-25-2005, 02:51 AM jinkys, that sucks up until the renting of movies... what did you get? i was at internship at 8am, there until 3pm, went to my aunt's to pick up something, went back to my apt to waiting roommates who i was supposed to give a lift to Dulles, from which i got totally lost trying to get back home, did some errands, got home at 9pm or so... good times
BurningStar4 03-25-2005, 02:52 AM Ew internship at 8, way too early for me :) I rented The Cube (classic movie haha) and Finding Neverland (mmmm Johnny D) :P
Superman 03-25-2005, 02:53 AM yeah i liked the cube... did you ever see the sequel, i think it was called hypercube...
BurningStar4 03-25-2005, 02:56 AM No I haven't....I realized a few days ago when I was at Blockbuster that there was a PREQUEL....Cube Zero, so I was like, hmmm and I never actually knew there was a sequel to The Cube, I had seen it a long time ago with some friends, and I liked it but never really followed it. So tonight I just thought about renting the original, to see the prequel....and I realized while I was looking for the original that there is also a sequel, so I'll probably rent that tomorrow or whenever I go there again. Is the sequel good? Does it answer any questions?
Superman 03-25-2005, 02:58 AM not really, it's basically new people in a different more intense cube... but the ending sheds SOME light on the people behind the cube or whoever is behind the cube...
BurningStar4 03-25-2005, 02:59 AM ANOTHER cube!? Whaaaat??? How many cubes can we hide on Earth :lol2:
Superman 03-25-2005, 03:00 AM i honestly don't remember, it could've been the same cube but enhanced... but whatever it was, it was just that-- enhanced... first one was better though... or the original... not the prequel... ack
BurningStar4 03-25-2005, 03:02 AM Haha....is there another autistic boy in the cube in the sequel?
Superman 03-25-2005, 03:02 AM hmmm... i don't think they actually used math... i remember them trying to figure it out... d'oh
BurningStar4 03-25-2005, 03:03 AM Well I know if I ever end up in a cube one day....to stay in the room I found myself in, cause chances are that is the cube that will lead to the outside :P
Superman 03-25-2005, 03:13 AM oh how did you think you do on the psych test?
Aurora10 03-25-2005, 03:14 AM Hey everyone!!! ;D
BurningStar4 03-25-2005, 03:16 AM I didnt get to study all that much I was too busy studying for another test yesterday, but I think I did okay, atleast a B....I got a little confused on the Erikson portion though *:-\
Superman 03-25-2005, 03:20 AM that sucks... stupid erik erikson!! hi aurora!
Aurora10 03-25-2005, 03:24 AM Guys, guess what...you're gonna be so happy. None of your fav characters are going to die. This is how it's gonna go, I'm somehow going to be put on the island. I'm going to see Boone and die from his extreme hotness. See! I'm going to be the one to die! No worries! Your fav characters will all be there. ;D
BurningStar4 03-25-2005, 03:26 AM :lol2:
Hey Aurora! Thanks for your sacrifice ;) :P Maybe I will go with you and be poisoned from Josh Holloways mouth....
Aurora10 03-25-2005, 03:31 AM Haha! lol Hmm, the only thing is that I have no idea how I'm going to be put on the island. It's a mystery.
sifichick 03-25-2005, 03:46 AM Since Star has Josh covered I think I'll take D...
Aurora10 03-25-2005, 03:49 AM Well guys, I'm gonna go now. My bed calls to me. lol Plus, I think Boone might be in my room. Goodnight! Err...morning...whatever. lol :)
Varda 03-25-2005, 03:49 AM i must get some shut eye as well, because Santa is coming!

sifichick 03-25-2005, 04:56 AM I have it on my computer silly me I haven't watched it yet
Shhhh I have it on mine too. I love that movie. :)
CruCheri 03-25-2005, 06:23 AM Howdy night owls!
Star, I just watched Finding Neverland yesterday! It was WONDERFUL!! Definitely a must own!!
BurningStar4 03-25-2005, 07:18 AM Cool Cheri, I will get to watch it probably tomorrow! :)
Rock Goddess 03-25-2005, 07:26 AM Ooh, Finding Neverland is great, a really lovely movie. Though so sad, a true tear-jerker. But a beautiful film, nonetheless, and Johnny Depp's scottish accent was really amazing. And the boy who played Peter was great too, I loved his performance. I waited to see it until it came out on dvd - the extras I watched were pretty good - the bloopers are hilarious!
I should really go to bed now...but I rarely ever do what I should. :P
~ RG
CruCheri 03-25-2005, 08:39 AM Rock Goddess, I waited for the DVD, too! And you are right about the bloopers! Especially the dinner scene! LOL
Star, you are going to love it!!
Aurora10 03-26-2005, 02:19 AM ::peeks in:: Anyone here?
sifichick 03-26-2005, 02:23 AM I am but not for long. I have to work tomorrow.
