I wonder if the food drops have stopped?
This is two shows in a row that Locke has mentioned running out a certain food. Last week the eggs and this week he said they were running out of Chickens.

Now that Witmore (sp?) Knows where the island is, he is stopping the drops?

If this has already been posted sorry Mods.

I think it was when Locke played that game of chess and exploded the comunications

I personally don't think Widmore had anything to do with the food drops.

I am not worried about them starving to death as they just haven't found the grocery store hatch yet.;)

Hmm... I wonder if this was also a double entendre regarding the women as well.

I personally dont think the PRD's have been stopped/cancelled. Didnt the blast door map say PRD's every 6-8 months? and with what we know now about the island/time.. the next PRD should be months away (assuming, just one drop is made for everyone). The last PRD that we saw, was in "lockdown", that was just over a month ago. So.., the next drop is about 5 months away. Does LOST even have another 150 days left in the series??

I just took it as a sign, that island life is coming to an end. Or at least how we knew it.

i took this as a sign of how poor a leader Locke would make.Killing the last chicken when you are out of eggs is just madness.Strategic long term planning is just not his bag.

I hope they run out of food; it would add a dose of realism, which I'm always for. Make them go back to boar hunting or something.

I was thinking about this. What did that chess game do to the outcome of the island. Please excuse my manufacturing background, but:

Who manufactures the Dharma products. Someone has to make the boxes, cans, labels, and printing, just to name a few. Someone has to package the stuff, and someone has to fly it to the location. Is there a manufacturing facility on the island? If so, how do the supplies get there? Who sends the food, where does it come from? So many questions, so many people involved, so many secrets.

How can so many secrets stay secret?

I agree. I don't think Widmore had anything to do with it.

One way is to have a piolt and a 1 or 2 man crew drop supplies from a safe hight who will not ask questions and just cash there enormus checks.

Ben's diary indicates that he has concerns regarding the lack of provisions.

I would think with the others being on that island for such a long time that someone has a garden/farm somewhere.. looks like plenty kinds of food would be able to grow on that island... also, as long as locke doesn't kill everything I think that they should be okay.. hope so anyways!

Perhaps, but Ben's diary was written by Michael Emerson without the initial permission of Darlton. Only after he wrote it did they agree that it was "in character." Therefore, I don't believe that the exact verbage from the diary can be claimed as canon.

The food drops are probably being provided by whoever is backing up Ben financially.
We know it is not Dharma. We know it is not Widmore. There is one big player left still...

If they put it into the show, it is cannon. Otherwise they wouldn't have made the decesion to include it.

They can harvest the large potato field. When others claimed they were building a runway for an aeroplane, it was actually just a potato field.

There's pictures of one of the "food drops" with Widmore's company logo on it. That being said with His logo and on the basket and it being Dharama food, I think he may be connected to the original islanders.

I know this is a stretch but he could be Ben's Grandfather or at least related. Ie, ben's mom could be Penny's sister
