The last time the writers had to condense a whole lot of material into one episode was in Expose. Fans hated Nikki and Paulo and wanted them dead, so the writers took an extended arc of events that they had for those characters and condensed them down to one episode. I did enjoy Expose, but it seemed obvious to me that they were hurrying to cram a lot into one episode.
Is anyone concerned that that's how the final 5 episodes of this season will feel?

Yes. I'm glad someone spoke up about this very real possibility.
I'm concerned that with the strike-shortened season, we'll see the quality slip in an effort to play "catch up". I hope I'm wrong, and that the top Lost brass won't fall into this trap. I'd hate to see my favorite show degenerate into something resembling cramming for a mid-term :frown:

Well half the people are complaining that things are happening to slowly and the other half are complaining that it is moving too fast.
Its a lose-lose for the writers

Plus, it's not like they are taking what would have been 8 episodes of content and squishing them into 5 episodes. They said they are going to push some things to season 5, instead. It sounds like they will take some of the padding and move it to later in the story. For example, if The Other Woman was planned post-strike, I could see them shelving Juliet's flashback until later, since it doesn't seem crucial to this season's major arc.

I wouldn't mind if it did...Expose was a great episode.

I have complete trust in this creative team. Don't you?

Concerned? More like hoping. Again, almost nothing noteworthy has happened on the island so far. Juliet's episode should have been scrapped entirely as it was 99.999% filler. If they had time for fillers in the first half of the season, hopefully they can scrap any second half fillers.

I'm not worried. It's only three episodes, and they're not lost, just re-scheduled (so to speak). I have faith in TPTB to pace things in a way that promises nothing important is lost.

Just because people want more answers doesn't necessarily mean they want to learn them through an Expose-esque cramathon.
Just saying.

As another poster said, we are not losing 3 episodes, they're just being moved... Also, the pacing of season 4 (with the exclusion of OW and JY) has been accelerated compared to the first three seasons, and it has been phenomenal.
Plus, I thought they did a *great* job with Expose!!!
So, bottom line, I'm not concerned at all. Should be awesome!

I'm not worried either, those three episodes as mentioned above are going to get pushed back into the following seasons. So I think the second half of S4 should be good.
