Originally, yunjim kim auditioned for the role of Kate. She wasn't suitable for the part but jj abrams liked her so much, he created the korean couple for her. i think kinda the same thing happened with charlie. he was supposed to be an old retire rocker, but jj liked him so much he cast dom. instead

I'm glad it all worked out in the end. I can't even imagine the series without Jin and Sun.........and YJ and DDK are two amazing actors. ;)

I think it's pretty funny because most of the characters on the show were not originally supposed to be on there, or were changed. Yunjin, Daniel, Dom, Jorge...

I'm glad JJ created the characters. They add so much more depth to the show.

Jorge was the first one cast, and for Charlie they were actually looking for someone in their 40s but Dom got it. The wrote in Sun and Jin because they liked Yunjin so much. I think that is so cool. And like one of the creators (or writers, I can't remember exactly who) said on the 20/20 about Lost it made sense to have a non-English speaking couple on an international flight. Sun and Jin add so much to the show though, like dramatic irony and conflict.

I think it is for te best because some of us dont like Kate anymore. We dont know if that is because of the character or the actor. I read a lot about how Evie cant really act that well, and that is why she isn't as well liked these days. However, if it about Kate alone, Sun may have been written the same way and we might not like her either. I'm just glad that she is Sun because she is the nicest gal of the women. 8)

yup, and she is the brightest also!! She is such a great character and Yunjin portrays her so well!! She just has that quality that's makes you wanting more. i love it!! I can't wait till we see more of her backstory next season

Me too, but I thought her character underwent a lot of changes for the better in season 1- for example, once we learned she speaks English, she was able to talk to a lot more people about their problems.

There is no question that Sun is the best female star on Lost. The only other female I like is Claire.(Rose too. But she has only been on 3 eppies). Any actress can do what Kate and Shannon are doing. Yunjin and Emilie have just got that special something that gives Sun and Claire that spark. 8)

yup, i completely agree!! And claire is my second favorite female character after Sun of course. Buut reently, she's noly been screaming a lot lolol!! She has to learn to take care of that darn baby and make sure it doesn't turn evil lol. And hope that the phsycic guy was wrong!!

I sure hope that TPTB calm down all the yelling that Claire is doing. Baby's can sense that the mother is very upset and it affects them as well. I think JJ&Damon need to consult with the women on the staff that are mothers themselves to write out Claire's character better. It would go a long way to making her less wacko. ::)

lol, but i think Emilie does aan ok portrayal of Claire!! The way she acts is pretty good. But she does to much of screaming about her baby problems and it's starting to get annoying now! I actually blame the writerson the show. They should get advice from the female staff that have babies and use their advice to improve the character of Claire.

I agree. She seems like a good mother figure. I just wonder why Sun and Jin never had a kid. He really wasn't that busy with his work! Maybe they were unseccesful or maybe she had an abortion (i really hope not but she might've been scared about having a baby so...) or a misscarriage. That would be in interesting side to see of Sun, agree??

i thought they were married for a bunch of years!! and her's the proof...In Jin's flashback eppy the guy the guy the hitman wsas supposed to kill gave him his little puppy. And in Sun's flashback eppy we saw the puppy all grown up. And it was the same dog!! You know guys, that dog is goldish like Vincent. How crazy would it be if that dog is actually Vincent somehow?!!

I read somewhere(which of course I cant find now)that Garrett Wong of Star Trek Voyager was first up for the part of Jin. Has anyone read this other than myself? I think I am going "krazy'. ;)

Is he a good actor?? do u guys know that in the beginning of the show ddk was criticized for not speaking in a perfect korean accent!!? of course i didn' relalize cuz i've never learned Korean and i don't know what the accent shouhld be like lol ;) I think ddk is doing an exccellent job anyway!! he and Sun have gr8 chemistry!!!

It's great that they added Sun and Jin in b/c now they can have that scene where something tragic happens but only Jin witnesses it. And everybody is having trouble firguring out what he's talking about. Then they need to call Sun in to translate and what he tells her shocks her. And she's so traumatized that she faints!lol. and then we're stuck with the problem that nobody understands him and they have to try and figure it out someway, somehow!!! lololol ;) :lol2:
