View Full Version : Petition to get Sawyer a haircut
workingmom 03-21-2008, 10:28 AM I know Josh asked them if Sawyer could get a haircut and they said no, its a casualty of the shortened season, but maybe they could just put in a 20-second shot of Claire giving Sawyer a haircut out on her porch, and in exchange Sawyer can read to Aaron. It reprises a few nice Season 1 and 2 scenes and gets the job done.
pacejunkie 03-21-2008, 10:34 AM I swear workingmom, I saw the first few words of this thread only on the main page and I thought it was a petition to get Sawyer a role this season. I'm not a Sawyer fan, but if I was, I'd be pretty pissed at the way he's been backburnered this year with not a single thing to do. He's hardly more present than Claire and not a story in sight. We were promised an ensemble this year weren't we? In that sense, I'm glad Charlie is gone. He would have been sitting around doing nothing like everyone else and getting one line every other episode to prove he still exists.
I don't mean to hijack your thread, though. Please continue discussing Sawyer's hairdo with like minded folk. :) (and yeah, now that he's in "civilization", some shampoo and a trim would make sense).
Saukkomies 03-21-2008, 11:05 AM I think that we're going to see a flashforward some time where Sawyer has a full on ponytail tied together with a band in the back. That's my guess - not a clean cut Sawyer, but a long-haired one.
gunshyne 03-21-2008, 11:18 AM I like his hair. Very Sexy to me.

Shampoo? Hell, he looked like he was starring in a Breck commercial. His hair is long, but styled. In the scene at the beginning of the episode, where he was giving Ben the steely-eyed look, he looked as fine as he has ever looked.
GettinLost 03-21-2008, 03:28 PM Funny - someone asked in a magazine Q&A about Sawyer getting a haicut!!
I don't mind it long - but I do mind it Season 2 long. That got almost comical. So far, it's been pretty decent looking. They could comb it out of his face a bit more and spray it in place. It wouldn't scream "fixed" but would keep it out of his face more or look less lanky.
Josh hates wearing it long.

:roflmao:
He totally needs a haircut! Even when he was on the cages during the mini-arc from hell he had such a terrible hair... :eek2:
mise-en-scene 03-21-2008, 03:33 PM Sawyer would look good with or without the long hair. *drool*
annieone 03-21-2008, 03:41 PM I would sign in. The worst thing about his hair, and I am serious, is that it interferes with the acting. The actor must move with a stiff neck and shoulders, to keep hair away from his face, and shake his head in unintended moments. The whole think gives is his acting stiffness and lack of spontainity. No wonder he wants to cut it.
Michelle Friday 03-21-2008, 03:53 PM Sawyer is a "beautiful disaster"! (shout out to the Kelly Clarkson song).
Short, long, none, he is one fine man!!

Yeah, you'd think he'd be more active in Camp Insane since I doubt that Sawyer approves of Locke letting Ben go free and listening to the ground for instructions.
Once he's been cut and styled, he needs to go kick Ben and Locke's ***.
I have to say that my Lovely Wife, who's far more enamored with Jack, did sit up and take notice the first time She saw a shorter-haired picture of Josh Holloway. (I think She just goes for shorter hair -- shortly after we met, She made sure my hair was kept a lot shorter, and that a neatly-trimmed beard was added to to the party. And in retrospect, I have to say that Her taste in grooming is nearly as impeccable as Her taste in men...)
lostnthesoutheast 03-21-2008, 03:58 PM I love Sawyer, but I agree that his hair can be very distracting. For example during his fight scene with Kate in Eggtown, his hair alone made the editing super obvisous. It changes positions in every other frame of that scene. I like how his shaggy hair adds to his rugged look, but I much prefer the length back in season 1 circa CM.
And Pacejunkie, you couldn't be more right about Sawyer being backburnered this season. Unfortunately the writers don't seem to know what to do with him without focusing on the triangle. It's a real shame, but hopefully it is only a temporary problem.
onelittlenumber 03-21-2008, 04:00 PM I noticed the continuity errors in Eggtown too because of Sawyer's hair. And too me, it just looks greasy and scraggly. Guys can look good in long hair--but as with women, stringy long hair looks awful.

Sadly, you are very right. Sawyer has become Claire 2.0.
A storyline for him would be greatly appreciated and so would a haircut.
Boone's blue eyes 03-21-2008, 04:06 PM I still say he is way yummy either way....but Josh with shorter hair - he is earth-stopping GORGEOUS......:crush:
And I agree, very much so, that he needs to be written in a whole lot more! :sawyer:
onelittlenumber 03-21-2008, 04:11 PM Yeah, he's just too cool to be playing dog to the hunter (the hunter being Locke). There's signs of him bucking, but I want him to break out completely and reemerge as a guy that has a pair (and doesn't bow down to Locke).

Oh. My. God.
The grease the stylists apply to that man ought to weep for its part in befouling him.
CrazyLatin007 03-21-2008, 09:55 PM I like it when he ties it back in a ponytail. I think few men can carry the long hair look and JH is one of them. But I would have to agree that his hair is looking dirty and greasy in recent scenes.
AboutBunnies 03-21-2008, 10:01 PM Agree about the hair & his backseat role (ooohh, backseat with JH....sorry, I digress). Just please don't let it be Kate giving him the haircut. I want her to keep her dirty mitts off him! Plus, I think she did a crummy job w/ the first haircut!
KRANG 03-21-2008, 10:08 PM Forget the haircut, can we get this guy some airtime.?
james_sawyer 03-21-2008, 11:01 PM I vote for a bald Sawyer. They could blame it on time-travel, too. Like, his hair could exist in the future...
Yes, that's what I vote for.

Yes, that's what I vote for. :biggrin:Hee!
Is that what they meant by a "Locke problem"???
lostnowfound 03-22-2008, 12:42 AM It looks wonderful! Keep it long!!!!
