View Full Version : Fake Bomb
Lost face 03-21-2008, 11:15 AM I thought the fake bomb was stupid. Tom was suprised that Michael even activated the thing. If they assumed he wouldnt detonate the bomb in the first place, what was the point of sending him a fake one?
I did like the familiar "execute" button on the bomb.
ps. What was the number that mike entered into the fake bomb?????????
FishBiscuit 03-21-2008, 11:55 AM Maybe they wanted to see if he'd really do it.

GOB Bluth 03-21-2008, 12:19 PM Yep, out of anything on this show, I felt like that little flag that popped up and read "GOTCHA!!!" (paraphrasing), was the corniest thing we've seen yet.
Don't get me wrong, I will watch this show until the very end, I'm just saying, that was corny.
As stated in another thread, someone thinks that Sayid is the real mole, and Micheal is just a pawn, who is being used to have Sayid gain the trust of the Captain. I kind of buy this theory, which might explain why Ben didn't really want Micheal to blow up the room.
Mr. Find 03-21-2008, 12:19 PM The bomb thing was kind of stupid. Why take the risk the Kahana crew might decide to closely examine the contents of the chest and find this bomb, thereby scuttling Michael's mission before it has even started. And all for something so unnecessary. Come to think of it, Widmore has a pretty shoddy operation, security-wise, going on here with the chest, best to our knowledge, never having been examined.
monkeyhateclean 03-21-2008, 12:37 PM Yeah, that bugged me too. The fake bomb pops up a flag? It's like the "bang!" banners when someone shoots a gun in old cartoons. C'mon.
Lost face 03-21-2008, 12:44 PM It was definatley "looney Toonish"

Ahh...Sayid the real mole. Hmm...I am liking this. But why did Ben tell Sawyer, Locke, etc that Michael was the mole? And GOB rocks!!
quizzical 03-21-2008, 03:06 PM I thought the bomb was silly, but it had a purpose. As Ben seemed distressed to note, Michael "actually tried to use the bomb." It was one more way to convince a suicidally depressed Michael that the only way for him to be a good man again is stay alive and to continue to do Ben's work.
Lost Ed 03-21-2008, 03:23 PM I'm with quizzical on this. Though it could have been presented in a better fashion, I feel that the bomb is not fake...it just had a safe guard to prevent Michael from pre-mature detonation. next time he tries it...it will work.
I hate the snowglobe theory....however....to prevent the Kahana from being found ifn it blows up, gotta get it inside "the zone" before executing the plan.
I'm just sayin.
heppamies 03-25-2008, 08:19 AM I think at this point the writers had gone to strike, and the whole bomb scene was written by a homeless man paid 3$
