I forget, does it mention if Hurley is still rich in the future? Or is he just a curse-free regular Joe now? I was assuming he received a settlement from Oceanic too but I wasn't sure...
Probably a noob question...

Not sure... I am guessing he ditched the cursed money!

...***-U-ME-ing the Hurley-Meister's moola...
...if ya'll (YES, I'm from TEXAS) remember that Hurley did mention that he was a Millionaire to Charlie (?) and that he would be declared as dead at home (LA) so he didn't have to worry (...about the famed cursed money/numbers) about being rich no more...
This did not work obviously...Hurley was one of the 06 and we'll see what becomes of his lottery winnings + the settlement that Oceanic made with the 06...
...Maybe we'll see an episode called "The Settlement" that will cross paths with FFs and FBs that will spotlight the "settlement" between the 06 and Oceanic Airlines and a beginning to understanding Ben's motives on The Island...
..No Spoilers, Just Speculation...

I wondered the same thing, chewbaccasasquatch. Talking about getting rescued, Hurley told Bernard that he would finally be free from the cursed money.
All we saw of his lifestyle in his FF was him driving the family car and living back in the same institution he did, pre-lottery. So we don't see him living it up like Sayid and Kate.
Hurley had people investing his money. His wealth couldn't disappear in the few months he was gone. When he came back alive, the money would surely revert back to him from whomever inherited it. And Oceanic would have to give him the big settlement they gave the others. (feels weird to write the word others when I don't mean Ben's group). I look forward to how they deal with this.
I like your idea, cybalo, of an episode about this.

I would think it unlikely that he would be in Santa Rosa unless it was by choice. His $s could put him in a much nicer facility. Abaddon's offer of assistance also leads me to believe that Hurley has lost his fortune although perhaps it is just tied up in court due to people believing him to be dead from the crash.
