lol it made me roll my eyes....i'm still mad she didn't have any grieving time after charlie's death.....but i'm happy she mentioned him tonight though lol

This was my thought as well, GL. It could be that she's just been going through the motions and the explosion snapped her out of it. It happens. I've been there so I'm hoping that we will see her finally dealing with losing Charlie.

If she does make it back to the beach (with or without Aaron) she'll most likely find Charlie's ring and it will all kick in for her...

Nevermind Charlie...Claire has a tall hunky handsome all-American hero to protect her now. I guess Charlie will always be the dweeby little English guy who was no good at saving her and Aaron.Ouch! You're going to face some wrath for that statement.

And of course she hasn't forgotten about them. Just because the writers don't show the grieving process on camera doesn't mean it isn't happening.

Even though they haven't shown Claire grieving I still thnk it has to do wiith the fact Charlie's ghost is visiting her, whether it be in her dreams or while she's awake.

I was very happy to hear Claire mention Charlie's name.

LOL -- good observation. We haven't been too subtle about the lack of mourning for Charlie on the threads.

I thought it very natural. Charlie had been Claire's protector - and when she was being saved again - she assumed it was Charlie to the rescue. Of course she was shell-shocked, which probably allowed her to even forget he was dead for a moment.

Charlie only died a few days ago to these characters, not like us. So it would be natural for her to want Charlie. Also she still is grieving.

I'm really pissed about how they handled Claire's reaction, and her mentioning him did make me a little happier. I do realize that considering how quickly the plot is progressing now, they probably won't show too much grieving if they ever do decide to do it (not to mention how huge an influence Charlie's death was in the premiere already - Jorge did an amazing job). But the one thing that annoys me is that no one can be bothered to make him a little bamboo cross and put it in with the other graves. Honestly, nearly every other death had an actual funeral, it seems like a massive slap in the face to not get one. Even just a quick two minute scene in the graveyard with somebody giving a short eulogy would be fine - it doesn't have to take up an entire episode. But since we're so far into the season already, it probably won't ever happen.

I read on another thread that there was a scene cut out of Charlie and Claire. Where Charlie says or does something that makes Claire leave the house and head to the backyard, thus why Claire is laying on grass surrounded by laundry.

i read too, that there ws a deleted scene...

that involved Charlie appearing in a vision to Claire and possibly warning her to get out.

It makes more sense then that she was out on the grass (perhaps had tried to leave through the back door) and the first thing she said was, "Charlie?"

There's no support for that "deleted scene", it's a rumour. It seems highly unbelievable to me that they would hire Dom, fly him out from LA to appear in an episode and then cut his scene. It's not like when he was a regular and these things happen. Why even bother if the scene was that unimportant?

I was more annoyed than pleased when Claire said "Charlie". It was like the only time she remembers him is when she's in distress and needs something from him. She never seemed to just like him for who he was, he always had to be doing things for her. It irked me.

It was a nice touch, hopefully when/if Claire gets a centric episode this season we'll see her thinking about Charlie or something. :)
