View Full Version : Christian is dead! And Miles can hear AND see dead people!!
EmptyJar 05-01-2008, 11:17 PM Here's to hoping this episode will show once and for all to all the naysayers that he has bitten the dust. We know Charlie is dead, and he came to Hurley. Jack only talked of his father in past tense, and yes he did see him but that shock was cuz well... the dude died :P Now about that... are we to assume there may be a whole other "sickness" associated with this island? And that is for those on it who decide to leave it?? Wonder how the other 06'ers are doing around the time of today's FF, where we see Hurley's and Jack's descent into what doctors might call paranoia...
That in mind, recall how smokie manifested himself in past episodes (yemi, for one) and was able to communicate w/the living in that form. Hmm... wonder what it means for Claire? (Also---point of note, they did show Sawyer asking again about Claire's head, makes me wonder if injuries affecting the mind (emotional or physical) are precursors to these apparations). I mean it seems that the major players in contact w/the 'dead' (Jack, Hurley, now Claire) have all had some damage dealt to their noggin in some form...
Interesting that Miles saw him with Claire too... so he not only hears dead people, but he sees them as well? Sounds like M. Night Shamalayan has been hangin around the LOST set these days
Debisobsessed 05-02-2008, 02:23 PM I thought the opposite - that this epi raised the possibility that Christian is alive. Miles told Sawyer that Claire was not alone. Would he say that if she were witha ghost? SIcne he can sense dead people, he would know whether Christian was dead or alive. Also, Christian was holding Aaron and not just a mere apparition. I thought this scene with Christian was different than all of the rest.
Margalit 05-02-2008, 02:32 PM I agree! It can't be a coincidence that it was MILES who was with Claire. He certainly would know if she went into the jungle with a dead person. (Although he was annoyed enough with Sawyer and his "restraining order" that perhaps he was withholding that information on purpose.)
Lost Ed 05-02-2008, 02:35 PM The scene with Christian and Aaron is very similar to the scene with Christian and Vincent in the Missing Pieces piece.
EmptyJar 05-02-2008, 05:09 PM And it also ties with Miles fascination with claire... maybe something happeend to her in that explosion (some have surmised she did die) and he of course has some connection with the deceased.
I guess the pirates were wrong, dead men do tell tales. And apparently have the power to lead new mothers into the forest of a crazy island and abandon their baby at the base of a tree...
creepy stuff... but i believe the man is dead, and i stick to that. We've seen no evidence otherwise (remember when he was in the hospital with jack? but then disappeared when the other lady was there? Pretty quick, quiet, and sly for a real person i think... he's gone... but that doesnt mean he's no longer a big part of the story, as we have been told many, many, many times by Darlton & Co.)
Dark Horse 05-02-2008, 06:15 PM I took that scene to mean that Christian is dead, and I agree with the posibility that Claire may be too now. (due to the house explosion)
Miles may be seeing and hearing more than he wants to tell, especially to Sawyer because of his 'restraining order.' Miles sure was concerned about Claire and Aaron previous to Christian showing up. He knows a lot more than he is letting on.
ottomatic 05-02-2008, 06:32 PM I don't think Miles claimed to have seen Christian. He only said he heard Claire say that name.
dufusbot 05-02-2008, 06:37 PM We never saw Christian's body in his casket where it should have been way back early in Season 1, so the jury's still open on that one.
redsonsuperman 05-02-2008, 08:20 PM A dead man can't hold a baby, can he?
Call me crazy, but I thought that was a major clue that Jack's daddy ISN'T dead.
Plus, Damon and Carlton confirmed in a recent podcast that Harper really was talking to Juliet in the jungle. So, just as this was the real Harper and not a Smokey/Harper, I have to believe that was really Christian Shephard holding Aaron and not Smokey/Christian.
Now, Jack's daddy may not have been there in flesh and blood when he appeared to Jack off-island, but I'm convinced he is "alive" on the island.
Christian and Vincent are as important as Australia.
MarineOne 05-02-2008, 11:34 PM I don't think Miles claimed to have seen Christian. He only said he heard Claire say that name.
Actually, I thought he said something along the lines of "she walked off with a man" or "left with a man" or something...

I think he's alive too and can teleport at will.
