What if Sawyer never makes it back to the beach before they're taken off the island? Jack saying "Sawyer chose to stay" (or something close to that) could just be referring to Sawyer's original decision to stay on the island with Locke.

After whatever happens with Hugo, Locke and Ben, Hurley leaves and on his way back to the beach he runs into Sawyer, who gives Aaron to Hurley and he takes him back to the beach. Sawyer stays in the jungle to look for Claire. Not sure what would happen to Miles at that point. I'll say he stays on the island, cuz his "powers" are put to better use there for the writers.

Hurley makes it back with Aaron and now the 6 are all accounted for, near the beach or already on the freighter.

Things wouldn't look so good for Jin and the rest of the people that are on the beach though, if the 6 are the only others who make it off. Not sure what would happen to Miles, Faraday, and Charlotte.

Good thoughts, I can totally see that happening.... only off-island Kate was running errands for Sawyer, things that he probably asked her to do... that sounds as if they said their goodbyes and he really chose to stay.

About the science-team, I can only hope that they are going to stay. The island needs some more people and meaty storylines after the O6 departs, and I really love the lot of them. You had a good point that Miles's abilities weren't truly explored or used just yet, the same can be told about Daniel. So I believe that there are good chances they are going to be left behid with the rest.

Yeah I agree, but I really like this course of events, and I'm tryin' to make it work :)

It could just be a little tidbit like get ahold of this person and make sure this happens... Kate can piece together the rest on her own!

I think Sawyer stays on the island to find Claire. He feels responsible for her being missing.

I can see it now, dramatic music etc, sounds like it's gonna be a choice thing, only one more person can go and Sawyer lets Kate get off the island to look after Aaron (the ultimate sacrifice) , mabey that's why she feels the need to do his errands and why she looked so guilty because he's there and she got off?
