I LOVE Keamy! I hate what he did to Alex though. The show never had such a badass like this.

I love how much I hate him. What I loved was that Ben actually got to him, he didn't expect Ben to know everything about him. And is the Captain(who I'm sorry to see go), right and does Keamy have the sickness? A guy that could shoot a bound sixteen year old girl can't be too mentally stable to begin with. And does anybody have any clue as to what that thing on Keamy's arm? The only thing I can come up with is a bomb, but that's to simple.

Most excellently acted. He rocks the character, and I'm not just saying that because he's so hot. Anyone who's not seen him in other roles can't imagine how good an actor he is. They just see him as bad bad Keamy and think maybe it's type-casting.
If I were an actor, I'm not sure I'd want to be in a scene with Michael Emerson or Kevin Durand because they steal every scene they're in. Seriously, it's not about looks -

I remember the actor (Kevin Durand) from dark angel. He was also in that 3:10 to Yuma remake. I think the reason people want him to die is he is so polar in his evil. He is a mercenary to the core. I think Ben is just as evil, just more subtle, more devious and he does everything in name of saving the island. They are both evil, Keamy is just more overtly evil.

It can't be a coincidence that my fave characters are Ana-Lucia, Eko, Smokey, and (now) Keamy. ;) Oh, and Vincent, of course. I forgot to mention Danielle.

I wanted to like him when he was first introduced on the show... but he just gets badder and badder! He is a great actor though. I hope I get to see him as a good guy someday.

I'm not going to comment on Keamy, but I know I will LOVE the scene where Benjamin meets him to resolve his daughter's death.

I like the character for it's intended purpose. But I hate him as a "person". I don't think he's a badass. I just think he's a ruthless soldier who will stop at nothing to fulfill his obligation. He does his job well. I think Sawyer, Ben and even Eko are more badasses then Keamy.

That being said. I'm torn on wether I want him to live or die. Part of me wants him to die a horrible death because of his actions and the other part wants him to be the only member of the freighter army left alive and taken prisoner. Though I think he will meet his death either next week or in the two hour finale.

The whole Dr. Ray thing was just uncalled for.

I don't think with the limited number of episodes we have left that this will happen. I do not think he will be come as important to the show as other freight members Faraday, Charlotte, Frank, and Miles.

hate him. Absolutely. Mostly because he's an evil sociopathic SOB. And he killed Alex (I'm still living in hope that the captain's only badly hurt, rather than dead. I don't think he shot him in anywhere immediately fatal).

A Keamy ep might not be so bad... as long as it was an episode consisting entirely of his long, painful, excruciating death. I'm thinking we round up the remaining polar bears, let them at him for a while. Then we let Smokey have a turn. Then we feed what's left to the Dharma Shark.

I think the actor plays him extremely well, and I can appreciate the character on a level where we are supposed to be shown how he's much worse than the Others ever were, but that put behind me - I want him to die an extremely gory, overwhelmingly painful and brutal death :D

I think he's an amazing bad guy, and that's because he's so ruthless. He scares the hell out of me with how ruthless he is, i mean he could just shoot any of the main characters in the head just like he did with alex. I guess i'm just scared that he'll be used to kill off some of my favourite characters.

Still unfortunately, straight up evil b*stards like him don't stay around for long, and Ben will get revenge. He'll die almost certainly in the 2nd part of the finale. Probably by the smoke monster.

It's kind of refreshing to meet an uncomplicated bad guy on LOST. I doubt that there's anything subtle, intellectual or morally gray about Keamy--or at least I doubt that any of that would ever be explored (at the rate they're dispensing with characters who have been built up over years and years). It'll be fun to cheer when he finally meets his well-deserved end.

It is a great juxtaposition between Keamy and Ben. Keamy seeks to control by sheer force, Ben by subtle manipulation. People may resnt being forced to do something but what they really resent is being tricked into it. With Bullies you know they will always get theirs in the end -- live by the sword die by the sword. Tricksters seem to have a whole 'nother arc.

He’s playing an awfully big role for a character we know nothing about. This is Lost – we’re used to looking behind the characters to see what makes them tick, like they did in Confirmed Dead with the first four Freighties. More importantly, we’re used to complex characters, and Keamy seems to be all baddie with no redeeming qualities. This is not enough for him to be the instrument of island destruction. Stop him before he kills more of my favorite supporting characters!

Although I will comment on Keamy again: he's a dick, PERIOD. After murdering Alex; so coldblooded and with absolutely no remorse, the moment when Benjamin Linus exacts his revenge cannot get here fast enough. Many villains in movies and tv are very entertaining(Ben being the best example here), but there's no redeeming quality to Keamy at all. He does have one purpose though: to meet a slow, violent end.

I definitely disagree about Keamy being Lost's best villain. In the long run, I think the best villain will be the man Keamy works for, Charles Widmore.

pfft, that seems an unfair critique to me. Sometimes for a role so minor you don't need such an in-depth character study.. He's simply henchman of Widmore. You wouldn't bother giving every faceless goon in a Schwarzenegger flick redeeming features. The way he is written makes me hate him and I'm perfectly aware of his motivations, so what's the problem?

As for "Keamy" -- we've learned that on Lost, no one is purely evil or purely good. But so far the writers have written a character that is one-for-one an equal to Smokey.

Initially he was a dedicated military/merc type, 100% loyal to the mission and money, no emotions at all.
But Smokie injured his team and hurt his pride. Now he's mad and that makes him even badder.

But you're right about his voice...it gives me the shivers. Remember when he said "I'm listening" when Ben said "I have a proposal"? Keamy is our worst nightmare (so far).

His voice stands out to me too. I can't really articulate what it is, but something about it gives me chills. It has a kind of soft quality to it, and the accent is weird, I can't place it. Where's he supposed to be from? Las Vegas?

Anyway, I'm with those who love to hate him. The actor's doing a fantastic job. I really underestimated this character at first. He came off like a meathead pit bull to me, all brawn and very little brains. Now I see there's more to him than that. How much more remains to be seen.

I kinda like this character, but with that being said I have no problem with him getting killed off. Hopefully in some sort of awesome way.

To me, he's a "Johnny-come-lately" version of the character Goetz from "JERICHO".

Keamy absolutely ROCKS! First of all, he is so hot.
Secondly, Kevin Durand really pulls off the character.
I find that amusing because he was nominated as "Canada's
funniest comedian" way back in '94 or so. Not so funny now!
I saw his name listed in the credits at least through the next 3 episodes.
But, I fear he will probably be killed by the season finale. Too bad - he is
so fun!

be able to see how he progressed to become the "ultimate master at brutality with little to no warning".

of a male body? (rhetorical question) I wonder what his legs look like? <ahem!>

The first moment that I realized that he is perfection is in the freighter deck scene, where Michael approaches the guys and asks "what are you doing?" and Keamy barely takes 5 seconds to look away from his gun to answer "what does it look like? we're shooting things". What a line...but check out his right arm holding the gun.

This is so funny, I did the same thing... I must admit. ;) I am the most gigantic sucker for big arm muscles... someone on a BSG messageboard referred to this kind of gawking (in reference to two of that show's characters) as "arm-porn".

So... Keamy has nice arms. Yes, that is my deep contribution to this thread.

The character is well acted and absolutely creepy. I do hope he dies a very painful death. And I can't understand why people think he is attractive.

Keamy is now my 2nd favorite character, behind Ben. He plays the bad guy so well! I love how he looked at Michael right before he punched him. And no, I don't have a man-crush going on here haha. I just think he's an awesome character who plays his role very well. Plus, I love to see us guys with muscle getting some love from the ladies. :)

Fav characters before Durand joined the cast (excluding the dead); 3 - Locke, 2 - Hurley, 1 - Ben/Sawyer.

I think he is a great character. I though they couldnt have made him the slightest bit more evil than Ben, but they sure as hell did.

EDIT: also, Durand was apparently the 'black knight ghost' in scooby doo 2: monsters unleashed! lol

Personally, I find Ben more attractive than Keamy! Even Bernard would give me a greater thrill. But then I once dated a guy who triggered olfactory memories of my childhood dentist. So it would seem that I have some unique issues to sort out.

I won't commit to hating Keamy, as he's just doing his zealot mercenary thing. He does do it with some flair. I won't miss him if he's gone soon.

I despise Keamy. I don't find him attractive in the least, and he's done nothing but piss me off since he first appeared. The only good thing I can say about him is that it's nice to have a true villain on the show again (I haven't considered Ben to be evil since...well, ever, really). I'm fervently hoping that Keamy will soon be the recipient of a bullet to the head, courtesy of Benjamin Linus.

To be honest, I hate Keamy's guts, but at the same time I think he's awesome. I can't decide if I hate him or like him.

He killed all those people on that boat with his heart monitor thingy. And who would be cruel enough to kill a defenseless girl (Alex) just to get what his boss wants?

There are amazing! Some are SO stupid but some are so dead on. They really manage to turn my most hated Lost character into something that brings a smile to my face! It's like visual prozac!

I don't know if I'd consider Keamy the most hated character. He's certainly up there in toe top five, though.

I think Ana Lucia was worse because she was slimy, and pretending to be a friend. At least Keamy was "in your face" and you knew where he was coming from. No drama ...no hiding behind another persona ....he was "I'll kill you unless you kill me first". Which Ben did ;)

Ethan was the worst at one point, but Charlie remedied that.

Michael was pretty bad shooting Libby, but I understand the insanity he was experiencing at the time, having two sons of my own. Who's to say I wouldn't snap too?

Anthony Cooper was also slimy, but not quite as hostile as Keamy. Maybe that's worse ....
