My favorite line in the episode came from Sawyer to Jack, "Hold up... you don't get to die alone." Nice revisiting of Jack's advice to them all from early on. "Live together, die alone." Coming from the former poster boy for "Every man for himself", it totally summed up what a remarkable arc Sawyer has had in the series to date. From being the guy who stayed on the sidelines most of the time, by choice, to being the guy who runs through a hail of bullets to save Claire... that tiger has definitively changed his stripes something fierce! Even knowing what "animals" Keamy and crew are, and believing that Jack is being stubborn and unreasonable, he heads right back into danger with him anyway. We also got to revisit the spirit of "There's always somebody to go back for" with him telling Jack that Hugo was with Ben, and therefore in danger.
Sawyer has come SUCH a long way, and his evolution has been so well-written - and so beautifully portrayed by Josh Holloway - that I thought it deserved a thread to celebrate it. Go Sawyer! Most of us knew you had it in you from the start... standing your ground with a hand gun in front of that polar bear - instead of letting it catch up with one of the slower runners - that was a dead give-away.
