In every season we also see these recap episodes. It usually stays the same but I wonder why the writers never or rarely include the characters that have died.

I can't remember the last time we saw Shannon or Boone in a recap episode, it is like they never existed!

The last time we saw Libby and Eko but not Ana in the recap. I know that it may be difficult to constantly show those people because they mean nothing now to the show, but it would be nice to have them shown that they did make an impact on this show that we still like them.

Of course those characters made an impact on us; of course we loved their characters. However, a new viewer is not going to care one bit unless they start watching teh show from the beginning. Those pop-ups are designed to educated new viewers who did not catch up by watching the first 3 seasons. Boone and Shannon and Ana and Libby and Eko, they would just confuse a new viewer that has zero background on the show. Keep it simple, that is the best way for TPTB to educate new viewers.
