View Full Version : The Inside Naughty Paws 06-08-2005, 09:06 PM Anyone watching the premiere of the inside on fox right now? fanofangel 06-09-2005, 10:38 PM I watched and thought it was great. Naughty Paws 06-09-2005, 10:48 PM i liked it too and it was entertaining. however, it wasn't special in any way. i will watch again next week. i like that kinda stuff, it interests me Mads13 06-09-2005, 11:33 PM I missed it. Watching a game and forgot to tape it. >:( That looks soooooooo good. Rerminds me of Profiler. theG 06-15-2005, 07:09 PM I watched it and I thought it was pretty good. I'll definitely be watching tonight's episode of The Inside. I usually can't stand "cop shows," but I'll watch almost anything with Tim Minear. Or Jane Espenson. Or David Fury. I can't remember, but is Ben Edlund on writing staff? I'll watch almost anything if he's on staff. angelharp42 06-16-2005, 08:33 PM Well, my husband, my sister, and I all watched the Inside, and we're gonna give it a few more episodes. I'm not sure, though. Seems like Minear and crew have managed to create a show that Fox will actually keep on the air. Not sure if that's a good thing. It seemed like all the other cop shows out there, but like it was trying too hard. I felt like I was watching SE7EN or something. And a little too graphic for my taste. I'm not a prude or anything, but last night's episode, whew! I guess I just have a problem with the whole man-rape thing. And they made it seem like he DESERVED it! Just for having alternative "tastes." He never did anything to those women that they didn't want him to. As my sister put it, "God, next they'll be showing children getting molested." I just don't think it's necessary to tell a good story. Like I said, we'll give it a few more episodes, but if they don't start to utilize Jayne... er... DANNY more then I am afraid they will lose me. theG 06-16-2005, 08:53 PM I don't think they made it seem like he deserved it, quite the contrary actually. fanofangel 06-16-2005, 09:28 PM frack, I forgot to TiVo last nite. Hi G. angelharp42 06-17-2005, 09:08 PM Perhaps I should clarify: I meant that some of the characters were less than sensitive to his... er... plight. A little too judge-y for me. Maybe I'm just overly sensitive. It was just so... much. theG 06-17-2005, 09:10 PM Some, but not all of them or even most of them. Hey, fanofangel. How's my PA doin'? fanofangel 06-17-2005, 10:41 PM Your PA is great and I hope your the same. Whats up for weekend? Oh don't forget about fathers day to all ETA: I hope your feeling better about your baby. I was thinking good thoughts for you. :) theG 06-18-2005, 09:12 AM Thanks, foa. It's been getting easier. I guess those of us without fathers in our lives will be pretty bored on Sunday. I'm going to stop hijacking this thread now. theG 07-03-2005, 04:41 PM I'm sure those of us who loved Wonderfalls and Firefly will not be shocked by this news. (http://www.timminear.net/archives/the_inside/000089.html)* ::)* :-\ I really liked Jane Espenson's episode last week.* It was by far my favorite episode of the Inside aired. Melody:* How can you eat that?* It's like eating cake for breakfast. Danny:* What's wrong with cake for breakfast? [Paul talks with Melody] Pancakes are cake; pancakes are for breafast. halfrek 07-03-2005, 05:16 PM this is a fun article from Allyson. and there is a LOST tie in, sort of. it seems that William Mapother is in the eppy that she is talking about. http://www.timminear.net/archives/2005/06/index.html that is all. Mads13 07-04-2005, 12:37 AM ahhhhhhh....you mean I missed an episode with Ethan...errrrr.....William in it? That's what I get for tuning in late....... theG 07-04-2005, 12:59 AM No, the episode with William Mapother hasn't aired.* Does anyone know if it will air? Mads13 07-04-2005, 01:29 AM whewwwww.... Thanks G...I'd be of the mad if I missed that one. Does anyone know?........anyone?.......... abramsfan 07-04-2005, 01:54 AM From IMDB "Skin and Bone" Episode: #1.13 - August 2005 William Mapother .... Ronald Ewing Mads13 07-04-2005, 02:00 AM who shot J R Ewing? .........whooooops, wrong show now I'll make a note to watch Ethansgirl 07-06-2005, 10:41 AM No, the episode with William Mapother hasn't aired. Does anyone know if it will air? Tim Minnear's post on his site seemed skeptical, but it is a summer series (not competing with a fall schedule of original programming), and after tonight's double episode they'll be halfway through the 13-ep season, so the rest of us remain hopeful all eps will air. ??? If you want to see a "sneak peek" of William in full costume (he's unrecognizable!), take a look (beware: spoilers!): http://www.williammapotheronline.com/ronald.html ...and to see how he got that way: http://www.williammapotheronline.com/insdrvids.html. Mads13 07-06-2005, 01:28 PM yikes!! that's him? what have they done with ethan william?? Ethansgirl 07-06-2005, 01:34 PM :lol2: Yeah, that's what five hours of makeup and prosthetics will do to you. :) I think the only parts of him you're actually able to see under all that are his eyeballs. ;D ShayidFan 07-06-2005, 03:41 PM I think that is really amazing. William is so great, because he does such diverse roles. He dosn't even look like our creepy Ethan! theG 07-06-2005, 03:52 PM I think I may have nightmares from looking at that picture. :D You're right, Ethansgirl, I could hardly tell it was him! Mads13 07-06-2005, 03:55 PM he looks like our Ethan after eating too many boars.... theG 07-06-2005, 03:59 PM Hmmm. Something tells me that this character was eating something a little more domestic than boar... Ethansgirl 07-06-2005, 04:05 PM You're right, Ethansgirl, I could hardly tell it was him! That's the thing, TheG -- I keep trying to spread the word to fellow William/Ethan fans, because you'd never know from seeing promos of the show that it was William! :lol2: Everything right down to the funky teeth is makeup and prosthetics! he looks like our Ethan after eating too many boars.... You WISH it was boar! :lol2: Mads13 07-06-2005, 04:44 PM ewwwwww...what was it? :P theG 07-06-2005, 04:53 PM I think he eats anorexic women, right? Ethansgirl 07-06-2005, 05:10 PM I think he eats anorexic women, right? Yep. :P Mads13 07-06-2005, 05:18 PM ahhhhh.... :o theG 07-07-2005, 12:27 PM Does anyone know where I can find quotes from the show? I'm sure if I looked hard enough, I could find them, but... It would be much appreciated if someone could do that for me. :) I really liked Richard Hatem's episode last night. It's definitely got me wanting his cancelled show Miracles. Mads13 07-07-2005, 12:37 PM Is there a specific quote your looking for? Or just general? XxNicholeexX 07-07-2005, 12:51 PM I think he eats anorexic women, right? Ewwww! This show sounds interesting and I'll have to be sure to watch it sometime. theG 07-07-2005, 12:53 PM I'm really liking it, Nicholee. I would definitely recommend at least checking it out sometime. It's not really anything like the other cop dramas I've had the misfortune of watching. I'm just looking for quotes in general, Mads. Transcripts from the show... I can't find any fansites or anything. I suppose it's a bit early for fansites to pop up... Ethansgirl 07-07-2005, 01:30 PM I'm really liking it, Nicholee. Try asking around at Television Without Pity's Inside thread: http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/index.php?s=c29b994146da807b5663edb03d2eb8e4&showtopic=3122054&st=570 Also the IMDB entry: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0412148/ theG 07-07-2005, 01:41 PM I hate registering at different places. I did check IMDb, but they only have three quotes there. Thanks for trying though, Ethansgirl. :-* Mads13 07-07-2005, 01:44 PM http://www.tv.com/inside/show/22376/summary.html .......has a space in each episode summary for quotes, but only the first epi has it now. Maybe more in the future. Ethansgirl 07-08-2005, 02:02 PM I'm just looking for quotes in general, Mads. Transcripts from the show... I can't find any fansites or anything. I suppose it's a bit early for fansites to pop up... Here's one fansite: www.theinside.org Not sure what exactly they have or how often they update, esp. since it doesn't look like the show has much of a future. It's something though. theG 07-08-2005, 04:00 PM Thanks for the link.* It's too bad they don't have the episode guide updated with much information, huh? Ethansgirl 07-09-2005, 05:58 PM They might be waiting to see if the series makes it past this week. :-\ Tim Minnear was pretty gloomy about the prospects on his site, but you never know. Ethansgirl 08-03-2005, 11:04 AM Still no word from Fox as to whether or not they'll air the final episodes (although they keep pushing back the air dates for the dumb dance show)...but last week the NY Post had a small article re: William's appearance on The Inside. If you're signed up for the service you can view the article at the Post: http://www.nypost.com/entertainment/50769.htm...or view it here: http://www.williammapotheronline.com/nypst.html Spoilers within, of course. In mentioning his role on Lost they claim he was one of the Others...but do any of us know this for sure? ;) Starrox 08-03-2005, 03:55 PM I'm sorry to say (or rather write), but Fox won't show the rest of the episodes - at least that's what they told Tim Minear! http://www.buffistas.org/showthread.php?thread_id=143&post_id=1922 Tim Minear - Jul 29, 2005 1:04:29 pm PDT #1930 of 2071 "Don' be e-scared" I said this on July 3rd: I'm told by the network that they're "still supporting the show" and that we will continue to air. Which, if my experience tells me anything, means catch it while you can. If you wanna, I mean. I'm gonna make my bet right now that we'll have, not including any unaired pilots, six unaired episodes featured on that DVD set. Always listen to Uncle Tim. The network just informed me that the dance show is going to be expanded and that no more episodes of "The Inside" will now air. Which means there will be six unaired original episodes. Ethansgirl 08-03-2005, 07:57 PM Yes, I had seen that post at Buffistas...but that's the only thing resembling an "official" word so far. The same day that was posted Zap2It had an article from the entertainment president at Fox saying some eps would still air at the end of the month (http://tv.zap2it.com/tveditorial/tve_main/1,1002,271%7c96657%7c1%7c,00.html). Do I think Fox will air any of the remaining eps? Highly doubtful...Fox has a terrible track record with this sort of thing...but I read that the dance show lost 2 million viewers last week so until Fox makes an official statement I'm not calling the show 100% done. (Wait five minutes...that could change!) Mads13 08-03-2005, 08:18 PM Stoopid dancing idiots replaced the show tonight......:cursing: Starrox 08-04-2005, 12:36 PM Yes, I had seen that post at Buffistas...but that's the only thing resembling an "official" word so far. The same day that was posted Zap2It had an article from the entertainment president at Fox saying some eps would still air at the end of the month (http://tv.zap2it.com/tveditorial/tve_main/1,1002,271%7c96657%7c1%7c,00.html). I know about that article at Zap2It, but kind of chose to rather believe Tim Minear since the whole story simply doesn't make sense - why would they order him to first pull one and later a second episode from the line up, then tell him they won't air the remaining episodes at all only to go to the press and tell them pretty much the exact opposite the very same day? Ethansgirl 08-05-2005, 09:31 AM I know about that article at Zap2It, but kind of chose to rather believe Tim Minear since the whole story simply doesn't make sense - why would they order him to first pull one and later a second episode from the line up, then tell him they won't air the remaining episodes at all only to go to the press and tell them pretty much the exact opposite the very same day? As I said before, I'm not under the impression that Fox will air the episodes--they have a track record of last-minute cancellations--I merely stated that until the network makes it official, it's not official. As for Tim Minear, he was quoted in another Zap2It article yesterday (8/4): "The Inside" could theoretically return at some point -- although Nichols' addition to the cast of "Alias" torpedoes future episodes being produced -- but Minear's not so sure he wants it to. "They kept saying they were going to air them all," he says. "Finally I actually called them and said, 'Could you not? Would it be OK if you just didn't air them all?' I was looking toward the future and a hopeful DVD release. It just felt to me that (having unaired episodes) would make it more valuable to the studio. "They, of course, did not agree to that." Zap2It (http://tv.zap2it.com/tveditorial/tve_main/1,1002,271|96747|1|,00.html) So if I'm reading this correctly he is saying here that the studio will not commit to keeping all remaining eps off the air, even though he (Minear) wants them to in hopes of upping the DVD value. That's a change in his story from the studio telling him they won't air any more episodes. I don't blame him for being bitter--he's kind of the Charlie Brown of TV production, having so many shows yanked--but it makes me hesitant to take his word 100% without additional confirmation. |
