View Full Version : Bones
CharliesGal 09-14-2005, 10:32 PM Did anyone watch this show last night? It was really quite good. Of course, the added bonus is that it stars David Borenaz, who was "Angel" on Joss Whedon's Buffy and Angel.
But anyway, Bones had a great premiere last night and I think it might become another show I have to watch! What did ya'll think about it??
Hiram 09-15-2005, 02:50 AM I watched most of it. Sadly I had to miss the last ten minutes! But I liked the chemistry between David and "Bones". The only concern I have is that they can keep the shows dialog fresh and not fall into the C.S.I. copycat trap.
liz_lost_fan 09-15-2005, 02:51 AM the dialogue was not well written, and the show was dissapointing...
ladyrune24 09-15-2005, 02:10 PM Personally, as a big "Angel" fan, I was also disappointed in the dialog and pace of the show. I also love CSI so maybe I'm more used to its pacing for this type of show. I'm not looking for another CSI so I'm hoping over the next few eps. the pace and dialog pick up more because I really miss Angel and Buffy. I need a replacement. Additionally, the characters seemed to stiff with each other. Hopefully, that will work out too.
lostinsandwich 09-15-2005, 03:25 PM I enjoyed the show.. I've read most of the Kathy Reich books that it is based on too
CharliesGal 09-15-2005, 10:06 PM Hmmm. I actually liked it. I thought they had great chemistry, especially for a pilot episode, and while the dialogue could have used a little help, I thought it was a great start for something that could be very interesting.
liz_lost_fan 09-15-2005, 10:25 PM did anyone watch Supernatural??
I liked that! it was an awsome Pilot episode :D
it comes on at the same time as House, so I ahd to tape House, and watch it after, but its all good :D
stircrazy 09-15-2005, 11:50 PM the dialogue was not well written, and the show was dissapointing...
I agree. When one of the characters repeats themselves within the first 10 minutes of a show it's not a good sign.
liz_lost_fan 09-16-2005, 11:05 PM ok, I didn't see the beginning of Bones before, but now its a rerun, and I got to see hte beginning, and I officially don't liek it...they insulted Guatemala :(
Hiram 10-18-2005, 11:34 PM I saw tonights episode. 10/18/2005. I don't know if it was a repeat or not. I hadn't seen it before. It was good IMO. The two leads are beginning to gel as are the Lab ensemble.
As to the "gimmicky" bio-holographs, they are well within the realm of modern technology. Has anyone seen a 3-D movie lately? This is not that far removed.
By the way, the show has just been green-lighted for the complete season!
:)
pengbear 10-19-2005, 11:11 PM Oh good! I love Kathy Reich's books, I think once they tweak a little, it'll be a great show. They just have to get past the "Hey..Bones" "Don't call me BONES!" thing. That's a little annoying.
Princess Arwen 10-21-2005, 12:17 PM Being a big Angel fan, I looked forward to this show with great anticipation. I was not disappointed. I love David Boreanz on this show and think there is great tension and chemistry between his character, Special Agent Seeley Booth, and his leading lady, Dr. Temperance Brennan.
According to the show's official website here: http://www.fox.com/bones/ , the next episode, "The Man In the Bear" will be seen on Tuesday, November 1st at 8 (7 central time) That's great!
pug3323 10-21-2005, 12:58 PM I've been watching this show since it started. I like it. I like the chemistry between Booth and Brennan. Plus Angela kinda cracks me up. I'm glad it's coming back soon.:)

So glad to hear the show will be on for a complete season, thanks for the info.
I have recently started watching Angel reruns on TNT, and was thrilled to see David Borenaz in a new series, I always like to see actors go on to do other things.
I watched the first show of Bones, I liked it, but found it alittle stiff, like the other person above said, but I'll keep watching, I'm sure it will get better with time.
Rhodaaaa 10-24-2005, 06:25 PM I like the show. Sure it could use a little tweaking here and there, but so could most shows. This actually inspired me to chose forensic anthropology as the topic for my forensic science project...part of which is due tomorrow (ack!), so I should get off the fuselage....sometime....in the near future....eventually.....
gaffa 11-14-2005, 09:49 PM Tell me, does it seem like just another CSI/Crossing Jordon, or does it have something different?
Princess Arwen 11-16-2005, 10:32 AM I've been watching this show since it started. I like it. I like the chemistry between Booth and Brennan. Plus Angela kinda cracks me up. I'm glad it's coming back soon.:)
I totally agree. I am so glad this show is doing well. I hope it continues. Did anyone see last night's episode?
pug3323 11-16-2005, 10:57 AM I watched it. I thought it was good. I loved the offhand comments Breenan made. The 'I like this music' hehe.. There was something else she said that made me laugh.
So, Booth's lawyer gf left him or something?? Sometimes I miss stuff bc I have a hard time just sitting and watching tv, I have to multitask
QueenElessar 12-25-2005, 02:25 PM I saw the pilot for this show at Comic Con...and was initially unimpressed. But I think that's because I didn't realize I was going to be watching it. I went to a panel for the show...and assumed it would just be people talking. I admit that I just wanted to see David Boreanez...lol ;). So I was restless...and not paying a lot of attention.
But when I watched it later on TV...I enjoyed it a lot more. I do miss it ocasionally...but I try to catch it every week, and I think it's really well done.
pug3323 12-27-2005, 09:11 AM Anyone know if it's new tonight?
orliknight09 12-27-2005, 07:03 PM i watch this show occassionally.
i_love_dmjgmfna 12-27-2005, 09:23 PM Anyone know if it's new tonight?
Well, I know this comes a little late, but no it wasn't a new one. And it's not a new one next week either.
pug3323 12-28-2005, 09:34 AM haha. thanks.. I was watching the Gonzaga/ Memphis game anyway... so, even if it was new I would have missed it. So, good thing it wasnt:biggrin:
Princess Arwen 12-30-2005, 09:13 AM When is the next new episode of Bones?
pug3323 12-30-2005, 09:16 AM I think its new again the 25th of Jan.. But Its changing to after American Idol. Im not sure where House is going.. Better not be Wednesdays!!!

Are you sure it's not January 24th which would be a Tuesday? The FX website for Bones here: http://www.fox.com/bones/ looks like it has not been updated since November, 2005. :frown:

I read the 25th from the forums on the bones website.. so who knows. It could be completely wrong. I noticed that their site did not say when it was coming back, which is annoying!

According to spoilerfix.com here: http://spoilerfix.com/othershows.php House will be moving to Mondays at 8:00 p.m. starting in January. Spoilerfix has posted the first new episode will air on January 10, 2006. You will note that January 10, 2006 is a Tuesday so I think there is still some confusion. :frown:
Episode 2.10 - Failure to Communicate [Airing January 10]: The team tries to find out why a famous journalist is now speaking gibberish. Stacey and House travel to Baltimore to deal with House's Medicaid billings. Source: spoilerfix.com here http://spoilerfix.com/othershows.php
Joshypoo 01-24-2006, 01:21 PM Does anyone watch Bones? I love it! Of course David Boreanez "Angel" helps! Did you know that they moved the show to Wednesday's at 9:00 p.m.? Now my 3 favorite shows are on at the same time - and I don't have tivo, dangit!
PhillyGirl2873 01-24-2006, 01:31 PM No way? Did they really? Even with Tivo I can't record all three shows at once. Dang! I'd have to tivo two of them and watch the other, but it's so hard to watch something else when I know that Lost is on. :ohwell:

I know - what are we going to do? I only have 2 vcr's... taping Lost is a no brainer - but choosing between Veronica Mars and Bones is a tough one.
PS - I love your fat kitty, PhillyGirl!

I was forced to record VM when they repeat it on Sunday. I will never give up Bones, and my kid demands that Lost be recorded. I'm praying they do not add anything else on Wednesday.

Thanks Joshypoo. I've decided that I'm just going to have to watch Bones in reruns. I can't not watch Lost or Veronics Mars and TIVO can only tape two shows at once. :ohwell:
pug3323 01-30-2006, 09:38 AM Ive decided that Bones will be taped and watched thursday am before work. How annoying that they put it on at the same times as Lost!!
addicted2much 09-21-2006, 02:34 PM last nightsRatings for Bones took a hit , when it went up against all original programming.
Fox dramas Bones (Overnights: #3: 5.6/ 8; Viewers: #4, 6.58 million; A18-49: #5, 2.26)

That's sad. I'm really enjoying this season so far.
freckles_shephard 10-15-2006, 06:22 AM I hate this stupid SABC channel they had Bones on.:hissy: :rant:They just stopped the first season at ep 13,( that one where Booth threatened the bad guy at the end not to touch Bones) to start showing the aprentice, :frown::ranting:I mean really :rolleyes::angryfire
wanders01 10-23-2006, 08:31 AM Mine disappeared also.....basball playoffs I think. Someone said they moved it to an obscure channel but I can't find it. With all the bad programs why do they insist on screwing with al good one?

It will come back after the World Series. The season actually started a lot sooner than others, so this little hiatus isn't too bad.

Thanks Philly good news is always appreciated.
PhillyGirl2873 10-31-2006, 10:07 AM Bones is back on the air this week. All new episode on Wednesday. http://www.fox.com/bones/
wanders01 11-16-2006, 07:51 AM Woo. Watched Bones last night and I found out that Hodgins is worth alot of money but must be like Dr. Carter ( Noah Wylie) on ER. Wants to do his job and dosen't care about the family wealth. Booth abd Temperance continue to smolter on screen together.
PhillyGirl2873 11-16-2006, 08:34 AM Oh, that came out a season ago I think. Yeah, he's like billionaire rich. Exellent episode last night.
