I usually watch it after My Name is Earl. I don't normally like scary stuff, but this show's actually pretty good. Some episodes have been scarier than others, which works for me since otherwise I'd never be able to sleep.

I love this show. I guess I like Supernatural type shows. It's not great television, but it is entertaining. It reminds me of the TV Show Friday the 13th.

I love this show. I also am not usually into a lot of scary stuff, but this show is good, I am willing to risk being scared. My husband also loves the music. He will say all through the episode: "Man this music is great" while I am trying to get him to be quiet so I can hear what is going on :)

When I first saw this show...I was a little skeptical..but it keeps getting better

Entertainment Weekly voted it as one of the 5 new shows to watch! :)

Along with:

My Name is Earl
Prison Break
Everybody Hates Chris
How I Met Your mother

They have really good taste in my opinion ;)

I enjoy the unfolding relationship between Sam and Dean. It seems that they are learning to be grown up friends rather than siblings growing up together. I like the development so far. The show is growing on me as well, although I missed this week's ep!

I like how their relationship is evovling as well. My favorite episodes have been the season premiere (I still think this is the scariest one yet) and the Bloody Mary one. I found the latter especially scary since I've seen what happens when you do that. Friends did it at a birthday party when I was in 5th grade. One of my scariest moments ever. It's scarred me from every walking into a dark room with a mirror.

They were definitly the scariest episodes. We used to do the Bloody Mary thing in the mirror at school when we were kids. I even dressed up as her one Halloween.

I really enjoy this show. It's really not a great show, in terms of the writing and the acting(Skin had plotholes you could drive an 18 wheeler through) BUT the chemistry between Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki as brothers Dean and Sam Winchester is just SPOT.ON and somehow covers most of that up. :) In that sense what maybe they lack a little in subtlety and flexibility they totally make up for just in creating these two really believable characters, I absolutely buy them as brothers. And they do bring the hotness. :D

I look forward to seeing the two of them on Tuesday nights. :)

lostfan88

I agree, they do make believable brothers. They're great together.

10-29-2005, 09:08 PM
I have to say I think "The Hook" was one of the better episodes yet. The older brother cracks me up with his 'looks' (not physical) and the stuff he says. I loved it when they were at the house party and they each decided what they were going to do and he looks at the blonde girl giving him the eye at the pool table, sighs and says "l'll go dig up the grave" funny stuff.

LostWord
10-29-2005, 10:30 PM
sighs and says "l'll go dig up the grave" funny stuff.

And then when he's digging he says under his breath, "Next time I get to watch the cute girl's house", but you just know he's going to be digging up the grave again next time too. That's another thing I love about the show, they really play it as this creepy stuff is "normal" to the brothers. Dean's walking through that graveyard late at night, all casual, digging up the bones, salting and burning them like it's just a normal day at the office.

Yeah I liked Hook. I hope the ratings continue to do as well as they have been and the show gets a second season(it's already been given the back 9 on the 1st so Yay!). I just love the interaction between the Brothers Winchester. :) And the actors are just so likeable as their characters that I want to see them do well and succeed.

Actually with regards to the acting comment from my last post, I think that might just be the writing's fault. :) I recently got to see Jensen Ackles, who plays the older brother Dean, in an episode of Dark Angel in its second season playing a character named Alec and he was actually really very good. If I had watched DA when it was on, I know just from that epi Alec would have become my favorite character. Kind of similar to Dean in that he was snarky and has a way of snagging the ladies, but smarter(not that Dean is stupid but Alec was trained to be a supersoldier with genetic engineering and what not involved--I don't really get the whole thing, I never watched Dark Angel). He had the devil-may-care on the outside, confused on the inside thing going on. And I get the feeling that maybe Dean, from what we've seen so far, is more bark than bite when it comes to girls. ;)

I can't help it I'm used to stuff like Lost and Battlestar Galactica now. :) Which both have IMO Oscar quality acting and superb, fairly tight writing. While Supernatural may have normal writing quality, to me it seems like it has some consistency problems and shortcut taking--just how did Dean know to "save" Sam in the pilot? I can fanwank it but really there's no on-screen explanation for it, or the weird time inconsistencies in "Skin" or the driving distance problems in just about every episode--one episode they can go a thousand miles in a day in another it seems to take almost that long to go a hundred. Then there are the weather inconsistencies--it starts off at the end of October, we're only in the beginning of December time wise, yet the show had a young woman training in a lake in a bikini in Wisconsin? In NOVEMBER? Up in the mountains in Colorado in November in light clothing and that young woman hiking in shorts? It's stuff like that which is just sort of sloppy. They really need to try and make the clothing and activities consistent to the stated locations at the time of year. :D

However honestly those are minor things for me. I just really enjoy the show--it's like watching a mini-horror movie every episode. And JA and JP have great chemistry and are just plain gorgeous and I feel like a dirty old woman saying that--the oldest is 7 years younger than me! Dean cracks me up, he was hysterical when he was letting Sam in on his fear of flying("Why do you think I drive every place?!?!"), funny but convincing too. And Sam's sweetly earnest.

I'm definitely ALL about Dean...but I always go for the wise-cracking types...lol ;)

Err...I'm going a little stir-crazy waiting for all of my shows to air new episodes...lol...

So here's a random Supernatural fact...that is related to Lost:
In the episode "Home", where Sam and Dean return to their childhood home and deal with a poltergeist...the woman who is currently living in the house is played by Kristen Richardson. She also starred in Confidence Man, playing the woman who Sawyer was conning :). AND...for another totally random fact...she is married to Backstreet Boy Kevin Richardson...

No, Ive never heard of that show before.. whats it about? Like supernatural shows. :) Too bad, the WB network is changing its name. Got so familar with the WB. I dont watch that channel anymore though. Now, its ABC, the food network, and such. Use to watch Roswell, Dawson's Creek, Buffy, Smallville (still going!).. and a bunch of other shows that were on that channel. I should start watching it again. lol, miss those WB ('CW') shows.

It is basically about two brothers and their father. their mother was killed by a demon years ago and their dad started hunting it ever since, then one day dad went on a "hunting trip" and went missing, so oldest brother dean goes to get youngest brother sam from school and they go across the U.S looking for him, and fighting off demons, evil gods, ghost, and plenty of other things (even crazy humans) along the way, it is really kind of hard to explain you have to watch the show to know...i guess...lol.

It is a really good show. best summary I could find (not that good of one either) :

When Sam and Dean Winchester were just little kids, their mom was killed by something "supernatural." Their father's life and their lives were never the same after that. After that incident, their father raised them to be warriors and started to take an interest in the "supernatural." 22 years later, Sam and Dean are grown up and one day their father goes on a hunt and disappears. Sam and Dean try to find him but all they find is their dad's book containing information about evil entities. Sam and Dean continue to search for their father and along their way they try to help anyone with a "supernatural" problem with the help of their dad's book.

So do I. Especially after the ending of the season finale. (it would stink if the show didn't come back after a cliffhanger like that)
It has happened before though (Harsh realm, Millennium, Carnivale, and Farscape come to mind)

I started watching Supernatural after a co-worker recommended it. A bunch of people I work with watch it and we discuss it every Friday morning. (I'm the only one there that watches Lost, that I know of)

ive watched a few episodes. the premise seemed interesting but the script/acting were pretty bad. except for one episode i saw where they met another guy with powers who killed his dad, uncle and was about to kill his step mum. that was a semi-decent episode, mainly because that guy totally carried it. the step mum was played by the eldest aunt in Sabrina the Teenage Witch. dunno if you know what episode im talking about.

My family and friends are nuts about Supernatural so I'm like kind of forced to watch it so I can talk to them about some kind of show. Figures they don't like Lost. Anyway, the show is alright, not too great. Some episodes are better than others. The season finale was ok, but after watching Lost the night before, nothing really shocks me as much as that did. I mean, I was still numb over Lost! But Smallville? Ohhwee, Tom Welling...all I can say is dang! The man is fine. lol.

The season finale just aired here last Monday. I absolutely love this show especially the chemistry between Dean, Sam and John.

Sam is my favourite character, which probaly means I am in the minority since most peoples favourite is Dean. Don't get me wrong I adore Dean but if I had to pick a character Sam is just a little more appealing to me but I love them both.

I love this show so much! I cannot wait for the dvd's release this September! There's going to be commentary on the episode, "Phantom Traveller". That was a pretty good episode! My favourite would have to be "Hell House". How hilarious was that? The itching powder and the super glue? Hahaha...boys...

I think this show is by far one of the coolest new shows and am so glad it's making it to another season. Jensen and Jared have really good chemistry and I'm so eager to see the season 2 premiere!! Apparently, Dean's in a coma after what happened in the season finale and a spirit is trying to make him crossover, while there is a spirit demon roaming about the hospital wreaking havoc or something like that. It seems like Papa Winchester isn't dead as he appears in the episode and makes a deal with a demon in exchange for Dean's life....from what I've heard...

Yeah I have read some of the script for the first episode

I am really worried about John. He is going to be trading the Colt for Dean but the Demon wants something even more and I am worried it is going to be him. Jeffrey Dean Morgan has signed onto a new show which means he can't be a regular. The producers really want him to be a regular so hopefully they don't kill him because I really like John. :)

Well as much...

As I like Jeffrey Dean Morgan, I don't think I'd want him to be a regular. The dynamic between the two brothers is perfect, and while it's interesting to see them interact with their father...I think it would take something away from the show if he were around all the time. I hope they don't kill him off, but I'd like him to only show up every once in awhile. I think Sam and Dean relying on eachother is part of what makes the show work so well.

They killed the dad. I really liked him, and he was pretty hot.

Good start to the season. I really enjoyed it. What did everyone else think?

As for the boys, Sammy is just a little too young looking for my taste, so I'd go with Dean.

lost_aussie_gal
09-30-2006, 02:01 AM
I absolutely loved the episode despite the fact of John dying. :sob:

Even though I am only 17 I still find John hot for an older guy although Sam will always be my true love  Dean is also sizzling. There should be a warning at the beginning of the show that you will suffer excess drooling and hot flashes.

I loved all the emotion and accasional humouress lines like "I'll pass on the 70 virgins" and "Dude, I full on Swaze'd that mother."

But oh the emotion and acting was brilliant. It has definitely jump to the top of my list for favourite episode.

John knows what the Demon wants with Sam. I loved the confrontation between them but John must have sacrificed himself.:frown: I am really really curious to know what John whispered to Dean.

And Sam discovering John dead especially after all they pretty much did was urgue all episode. I'm getting teary just thinking about it.

QueenElessar

I really enjoyed the hotel episode. As much as I like the serialized aspects of the show...and the plot involving the yellow eyed demon...I like the stand-alone episodes more. It brings out more of the fun stuff between the two brothers (loved the "antiquer" thing and how everyone thought they were a gay couple)...and they've often very clever stories. I think my biggest problem is that other shows do serialized mysteries better than Supernatural does....and I already have my favourites in that genre. But I think Supernatural comes up with really killer one week mysteries...and horror stories. It gives them a change to tackle DIFFERENT urban legends, myths, etc...

It was a creepy ghost story with some nice twists...

Karri
01-22-2007, 02:37 PM
I will agree with you, every one thinking they were a gay couple was hilarious. :roflmao: And Dean's whole story about how Sam is an obsessive doll collector. :)

lostgurl
01-22-2007, 05:57 PM
The doll collector thing was so funny. This weeks episode looks pretty good, something about a

I think I enjoy the stand-alone episodes more also.

Blue Coral
01-23-2007, 07:36 AM
Oh yea the gay thing, that was cute. And the doll collector thing. But what was even funnier was how obvious Sam was that he hated the idea, then went along with it afterwards! Too funny.

PhillyGirl2873
01-23-2007, 08:32 AM
I love the chemistry between the actors and I like when they tackle a different urban legend, ghost, or whatever every week. But that can get a little stale after awhile, so it's good for them to come up with some sort of overall arc for the show that gives them a side mission. This week's episode was much better, also.
