I think the designers are a lot better this year and I've agreed with the choice of winners and losers. JenC 12-15-2005, 05:05 PM I'm enjoying it too. I would have liked to see what the cute girl from Carter's could have done, I wish she had made it another episode or 2. ZoeWashburne 12-15-2005, 10:11 PM Ahhhhh the new season is already started?? Thanks so much! I'll have to catch up this weekend. They're showing rereuns pretty regularly it seems! Looking forward to seeing the new designers! JenC 01-10-2006, 06:08 PM New episode tomorrow. ;) I'm such a nerd. When the boys are finally asleep tomorrow night and it's just me & the TiVo.. I bet I watch Runway before I watch Lost! ostrich1 01-10-2006, 08:24 PM I don't like Santino's attitude...he should go just for that! I understand competitiveness, but how can you be upset when you don't win every single time?! And notice how he tries to rationalize why he loses... ZoeWashburne 01-10-2006, 10:21 PM I don't like Santino's attitude...he should go just for that! I understand competitiveness, but how can you be upset when you don't win every single time?! And notice how he tries to rationalize why he loses... I agree totally! He definitely is talented, I will give him that, but he is so arrogant. It drives me crazy. Chloe and Nick are just as talented - I love their designs - but they are so much nicer and not horrifically obnoxious. I really hope Santino doesn't win. Spoilers for the last episode if you haven't seen it: Also, I was really upset that Marla stayed in over Guadalupe. Guadalupe's design wasn't the most beautiful thing ever, but at least it showed imagination and creativity. Marla's was just plain awful. Here's hoping she goes tomorrow! REZN8 01-13-2006, 04:07 PM Man, Santino is my favorite designer on this season, he REALLY needs to watch himself during Judging or his attitude is going to get him knocked off here really soon. Marla was on the show WAY longer than she deserved to be, thats for sure! skeleton 01-14-2006, 07:59 PM Santino will probably go on to be successful in the fashion world. But as a human being he is pathetic. Fortunately he is going into a career that caters to arrogance, greed, and foolish trends. notlost, justexploring 01-14-2006, 08:23 PM I loved it last season! I didn't know it had started! skeleton 01-14-2006, 08:53 PM The show has been on since Dec 7th. ZoeWashburne 01-16-2006, 08:18 PM I loved it last season! I didn't know it had started! Julie 01-17-2006, 07:30 PM Newest eppy: Banana Republic: I was so glad Santino lost again!!! Such a jerk. ZoeWashburne 01-18-2006, 11:45 PM Newest eppy: Banana Republic: I was so glad Santino lost again!!! Such a jerk. Haha, you said it Julie!!! As for tonight's episode: I was so excited that Heidi and all were ready to kick Santino off. He does his own thing and won't every listen. I was disappointed Emmit was kicked out instead, but for ratings, I'm sure they'd rather have drama-filled Santino. And Emmit was kinda a boring designer. But it bodes well for Santino eventually getting the boot!!! Oh and I thought Chloe's dress was just beautiful - well as beautiful as skating costumes come. That was a really fun challenge tonight  Julie 01-18-2006, 11:56 PM That was a really fun challenge tonight  NEWEST EPPY: I was SO ready for Santino to go. But alas, nice guy finishes last. His design was pretty bad though. Yet Santino's was an eyesore. It wasn't even very creative--I think a five year old given the same assignment would come up with something similar. Oh well...eventually I think he's gone---I think Chloe will win in the last eppy. ZoeWashburne 01-19-2006, 12:08 AM NEWEST EPPY: I was SO ready for Santino to go. But alas, nice guy finishes last. His design was pretty bad though. Yet Santino's was an eyesore. It wasn't even very creative--I think a five year old given the same assignment would come up with something similar. Oh well...eventually I think he's gone---I think Chloe will win in the last eppy. I agree, Julie. Emmit's designs were kinda basic and boring. Santino shows more creativity at least, but he also only cares about himself and what he wants. I definitely see him being kicked out eventually (though hopefully really soon!) And I really like Chloe - she always has very solid and pretty, yet creative and interesting designs. It seemed to me the judges wanted to give the win to her, but Sasha had the trump card. And the designers looked so funny in their cute little spandex costumes! Julie 01-19-2006, 12:15 AM I agree, Julie. NEW EPPY... Yes, I think the judges were really leaning towards Chloe's blue outfit, I thought it was more polished and unique compared to the white outfit. But a gal knows what will look good on her so i guess Sasha was playing it safe. I for one would not leave the house dressed in that tiny little thing--no way. ZoeWashburne 01-24-2006, 11:01 AM Look! This is cool - they are auctioning off the winning designs: http://projectrunway.auction.shopthescene.com/viewcat.php?category=8 Apparently, they've been doing this all season, but I just realized it! juleyah 01-24-2006, 01:21 PM Hi there! I'm nev in this thread. I love Santino's designs... but hate him as a human. I see I've found people who think the same here! :) I missed the last eppy (skating)... and I don't really know who I think should win. Will have to look into it more. ZoeWashburne 01-24-2006, 11:45 PM Hi there! I'm nev in this thread. I love Santino's designs... but hate him as a human. I see I've found people who think the same here! :) I missed the last eppy (skating)... and I don't really know who I think should win. Will have to look into it more. Hey juleyah! Nice to meet you! I think the general consensus of all the Runway fans I know is that Santino is talented and has produced some great designs, but we all hate him as a person. Sooo arrogant. And while some of his designs are beautiful - like the one for Nikky Hilton - some of them are just awful too. His lingerie was just terrible. He needs to learn when to reign it in. JenC 01-25-2006, 05:22 AM I don't think he WANTS to learn to reign it in. :) Do you think the producers have him play it up or is he really naturally that... vocal. ZoeWashburne 01-25-2006, 11:38 PM I don't think he WANTS to learn to reign it in. :) Do you think the producers have him play it up or is he really naturally that... vocal. I think it's probably both. In all reality shows, the editors can manipulate the footage to bring out only one side of a person. I'm sure they've done that to a certain degree with Santino, but they only can do that because he does have that side to him. He's an interesting character. Did you guys see tonight's episode? I was pretty surprised Zulema got booted. I didn't really like hers, but I thought Kara was gone for sure. It does make me happy that Santino was so close to losing again! I like Daniel's design, though Andrae's was really nice too. That was a weird episode - I liked it, it was just kind of odd. Only Daniel, Andrae and Chloe made something the judges liked. The other four weren't very good. Which was especially odd since Nick is usually spot on. I'm thinking next week will either be Kara or Santino getting kicked out. devilblonde 01-26-2006, 12:45 PM Last nights episode was good. I loved seeing Jay, He cracks me up! I loved his comments on Santino's dress : "4 words: Austin Scarlett Grammy Dress!" I think the challenge next week it to make a garment out of botanicals, flowers, etc. Which could prove to be an interesting challenge. I think Kara's days are numbered. Joshypoo 01-26-2006, 12:54 PM Love this show. Jay is a riot, "The talk doesn't matcht the dress". It certainly did not! Kara is toast next week! ZoeWashburne 01-26-2006, 02:00 PM Love this show. Jay is a riot, "The talk doesn't matcht the dress". It certainly did not! Kara is toast next week! Definitely agree. JenC 01-26-2006, 03:16 PM I thought the same thing about Santino's dress! And I thought Kara would be leaving soon too, but then I listened to Tim's podcast. He thinks she has talent - so maybe she'll surprise us. Joshypoo 01-26-2006, 03:32 PM I'm totally routing for Daniel - I love his designs, his polite manner and friendly disposition. JenC 02-08-2006, 08:38 PM I like Daniel too. I'm excited - there's a new episode tonight, right? My husband and I are getting our house ready to sell for the past NINE DAYS he's been home and we've been working our butts off. I finally watched the garden epiosde this morning! I think I'd like to see Chloe, Nick and Daniel as the final 3. ZoeWashburne 02-08-2006, 11:33 PM Oh man, I just saw the latest episode. It was rough. It should have been Santino. It really should have :frown:The jumpsuit was just ridiculous and awful and poor Kara hated it. The suit Nick made might not have been executed perfectly, but at least Daniel looked great in it. JenC 02-09-2006, 12:31 AM I wanted to see Nick's collection at Fashion Week. :( I blame the guest judge! ZoeWashburne 02-09-2006, 12:47 AM I wanted to see Nick's collection at Fashion Week. :( I blame the guest judge! I know, me too!! I was totally pulling for Nick, Daniel and Chloe to make it. And you're right, it's all the guest judge's fault. Kara was miserable in the outfit and the sleeve was FALLING OFF! Was not even fully attached anymore. And yet it was poor Nick who got booted for poor construction. At least one of Daniel's pant legs didn't fall off. Yes, I am rather bitter about this. I feel like Santino has gotten far more breaks than he deserves. grumble grumble grumble :frown: JMoffa 02-09-2006, 01:23 AM I couldn't agree more. I started watching a little later in the show (the "clothes off their backs" episode), and I instantly couldn't stand Santino. I can't fathom how he's made it this far . . . especially after the disaster he called his figure skating outfit.I just want Daniel to make it all the way. He's awesome. Sigh. Joshypoo 02-09-2006, 11:02 AM I'm sure I'm in the minority here - but I like Santino. Yea, he's rude and nasty sometimes, and his designs are over the top - but he makes the show interesting. I'm routing for Daniel in the end - but know when Santino goes - so does the excitement. JenC 02-09-2006, 06:51 PM He makes the show interesting, sure. But in my opinion someone that should have been in the top 3 was sent home in this episode. And it should have been Santino instead! Joshypoo 02-15-2006, 11:03 PM Ok - just finished watching the latest episode - and the final three are: Daniel, Chloe, and.... yes it's Santino! Surprised? ZoeWashburne 02-16-2006, 12:43 AM Ok - just finished watching the latest episode - and the final three are: Daniel, Chloe, and.... yes it's Santino! Surprised? No. I'm not surprised, just kinda disappointed! I don't really think Kara deserved to be in the final three, but neither did Santino! Ugh. I just wish he wasn't so arrogant! And his dress was so ugly - no one would wear that on the red carpet! I just really hope Santino doesn't win. Joshypoo 02-16-2006, 08:57 AM Honestly, I was most surprised that Chloe said she wasn't sure if she really wanted to win. At that point - I wanted her to go too. Also, the others took full advantage of that during the Q & A - including Daniel and Kara saying they wanted Chloe out. Jezz1226 02-16-2006, 02:11 PM As arrogant and annoying as Santino is, I was actually glad that he got into the final three instead of Kara because in all honesty I'm a lot more curious to see what Santino pulls out during the finals then Kara. Joshypoo 02-16-2006, 06:00 PM I'm curious too. I have a feeling his designs won't be as wild and crazy too. He'll probably do a lot a beautiful stuff - because... he is capable of it. Next Wednesday they have the reunion show - I can't wait to hear everyone dis each other! JenC 02-16-2006, 07:53 PM I have a link to the collections of the final FOUR if anyone wants to see it. :) (All 4 showed to throw people off!) I was surprised. And there was one designer I really, really wished could have shown. :( addicted2much 02-18-2006, 04:40 PM :lol2: I forgot I started this topic I have seen the pics of the collections and I saw pieces I liked from each collection and pieces I hated. The last challenge was horrible Kara, Chloe, and Dan were boring and Santino could have wrapped his model in a blue tarp and he would be in the final because he makes things dramatic. Julie 02-18-2006, 05:37 PM All along I was hoping Chloe would win, but now I'm thinking Daniel should win. Chloe doesn't really want it, she hates the industry. Santino is, well, Santino, he can make his own stinking way. 2 dollars on Daniel to win. Chloe second, Santino third. Project Runway trifecta. Any takers? Win, Place and Show wagers will be entertained. ZoeWashburne 02-18-2006, 06:43 PM All along I was hoping Chloe would win, but now I'm thinking Daniel should win. Any takers? Win, Place and Show wagers will be entertained. That's totally what I'm thinking is going to happen too. At least that's what I hope happens. I will stage an uprising if Santino wins.... Joshypoo 02-23-2006, 09:20 AM Anyone watch the reunion last night - or Project Jay? Was Guadalupe drunk or what? I have to say, I love when Santino makes fun of Tim - "Where's Andre?". I'm surprised that Nick was kind of backing Santino too. As far as Jay goes - that is one wacky dude! I felt bad for him when Heidi decided not to wear his dress - it came out nice in the end - a lot better than the flower thing she wore. addicted2much 02-23-2006, 09:21 AM The Reunion Show wasn't as spectacular as the first season reunion. John looked great. He lost a lot of weight . Guadalupe was so drunk :lol2: I still have no idea what she was talking about . I loved the singing moments and I wish they would have included them in the episodes. I think it's interesting that no one seems to be giving Santino a chance to win. Joshypoo 02-23-2006, 09:26 AM OMG, the singing - that was hilarious! Ya know, Daniel Franco needs to go away - if he show's up on PR3 - I'll barf! :puke1: Julie 02-25-2006, 03:10 PM Anyone watch the reunion last night - or Project Jay? Was Guadalupe drunk or what? I have to say, I love when Santino makes fun of Tim - "Where's Andre?". I'm surprised that Nick was kind of backing Santino too. As far as Jay goes - that is one wacky dude! I felt bad for him when Heidi decided not to wear his dress - it came out nice in the end - a lot better than the flower thing she wore. I watched both shows...I thought Heidi was a jerk for not wearing his dress...as is she could look bad in anything. She chose to wear a glorified mumu instead of Jay's flashy red dress...whatever. The reunion show was OK. Lupe is loopy...she was on something for sure...at least I hope so because if that's her true self I am scared very very scared. Santino apologized for hurting people's feelings...I don't buy it he still has no taste for fashion or manners. Nick backing Santino--I think he's just trying to mend fences with Santino because he sees Santino as the "star" of the show and doesn't want to be on his bad side forever. The singing was funny as hell, they should have featured that alot more I think it would have made Santino seem less hostile, more like the class clown not the class bully. ZoeWashburne 03-01-2006, 12:48 AM Oh my goodness, the singing was hilarious! I loved Santino and Nick's Daniel Franco song especially. As much as Santino can annoy me a lot of the time, I must admit he is hilarious. And Guadalupe is ridiculous. She was either high or drunk or both. That was so weird. Wasn't she talking about Brokeback Mt. or something? So odd... It made for an interesting reunion though. Can't wait for the episode tomorrow!! I'm interested to see what the Final Three make! illustriousgirl 03-01-2006, 12:52 AM Okay, I've held out posting here for way too long... I'm on team Daniel V :D But Santino is absolutely hilarious, and I loved watching his Tim Gunn impressions. He seriously needs his own CD in which he does Tim Gunn singing random songs. I would totally buy it. And I miss Andrae a lot. His ridiculous body movements were awesome. I really need season 2 on DVD now! addicted2much 03-01-2006, 12:43 PM I agree that Santino is really good at impressions. :lol2: I hate the fact that the finale is going to be split into 2 parts. juleyah 03-01-2006, 01:13 PM Two parts? :-O NOOOOOOOOO!!! Seriously?!! I miss Andrae! And I love Tim Gunn quotes - "Make it work!" "Carry on!" "Where's Andrae?" :D :D :D lmfao! addicted2much 03-01-2006, 01:25 PM I loved the Daniel Franco Where Did You Go song :roflmao: see you in season 3 :lol2: Andrae went to Red Lobster :teehee: I looked at the preview and all it says is that the field is narrowed A marathon of episodes starts at 2:00 pm eastern / 1:00 pm central on Bravo Joshypoo 03-01-2006, 01:33 PM Another thing... I liked Zulema (aka Chatangy) - she didn't take any crap from anyone, told it like it was, no bull, and if my model walked as bad as hers did, I would have taken someone else's too. illustriousgirl 03-01-2006, 02:39 PM A marathon of episodes starts at 2:00 pm eastern / 1:00 pm central on Bravo Oh man, I just might bring my laptop down and do homework in front of the telly because that's just how addicted to this show I am. tifscatku 03-01-2006, 07:08 PM I could not stop laughing at Santino and his whole story of Andre and Tim Gunn at Red Lobster. I saved it on my DVR and will not erase it because I think it's the funniest thing I've seen on TV in a long time. As for my vote for who I want to win...it's Santino and has been since day one. I love his designs, and his outrageous attitude. THough I think he was soooo rude to Nina Garcia. illustriousgirl 03-01-2006, 07:23 PM Santino's attitude has thankfully slightly died down since day 1. At least he stopped making his outfits so over the top that the judges always mention how he went 'too far.' But Daniel is so my pick. I even liked the designs of his the judges didn't like. Lost_In_Louisiana 03-02-2006, 03:07 AM Santino is so quirky and outrageous that I think he will probably be a smashing success regardless of whether or not he wins Project Runway! I haven't liked everything he's done, but I do really like the pink t-shirt he designed for their website. It's got a floral heart and in the center are stylized letters spelling out Santino. Then there's some tiny wording underneath that I can't even read when I blow the picture up. Can anyone tell me what the little wording says? I miss Andrae for the dramatic faces he made!!! So funny!!! And who here feels that Nick should have been in the final? I liked his designs - they were very feminine. And "Where the hell is my chiffon!" cracks me up no matter what mood I'm in! :D addicted2much 03-02-2006, 07:05 AM I wish the finale could have been 2 hours instead of being 2 hour long episodes. It was great seeing a softer side of Santino, if the little kids can love him he can't be all bad  I loved Santino's dress that I guess will be the finale of his collection. I didn't like Chloe's gold and pink outfit. She usually does things so fitted and sleek to see something with so much bulk seemed off. Chloe is going to have a breakdown coming up with another piece for the collection. I was shocked she chose Diana . I just knew she would choose Kara, but I guess Diana might have better sewing skills or she thought Diana would just do what she was told. I think Tim has the right idea about Daniel's collection, although I love the cashmere coat. The vest Dan did reminds me of what I thought was his worst oufit which was the muslin give us an idea of who you are as a designer initial challenge. Tim was right on target about the purses being wood shop , they looked like they were from a make your own purse kit you could buy at Wal-Mart. I guess I'm shocked that before the runway show I like Santino's collection best. illustriousgirl 03-02-2006, 07:40 AM I couldn't watch it last night (too much homework) :\ I'm hoping they replay it soon, like Bravo has a habit of doing pretty much every weekend :P But I don't care about spoilers, so spoil away ehehehe. Lost_In_Louisiana 03-06-2006, 03:39 PM Well, if anyone can get the day off work (or school), Bravo is replaying this entire season of Project Runway, in order, from 10am to 10pm ET - with replays of Finale 2 at midnight, 1am, and 3am. If you missed an episode, now's the time to set your recorder! juleyah 03-08-2006, 06:56 AM Has the finale aired? Who won? Spoiler font it for me, please? illustriousgirl 03-08-2006, 08:58 AM Has the finale aired? Who won? Spoiler font it for me, please? The 2nd part airs tonight at 10 :) addicted2much 03-08-2006, 10:32 AM From the last episode . It looks like Tim doesn't really like Daniel's collection but likes Chloe's and Santino's. here is a link to the collections from the runway show , but if you comment be sure to spoiler font .It starts with Chloe's but you can pull down everyone's collection even Kara's which showed to throw people off on who were the final 3. I guess you won't have to spoiler font anything about Kara's because it won't be seen on TV. http://www.newyorkmetro.com/fashion/fashionshows/2006/fall/main/newyork/womenrunway/chloedao/# Kara's Designs First: I think this would have worked better as a dress instead of a top. Second: OK , I don't really like the lace around the bottom of the dress and I hate the knit caps . Third: OK, I would like to see the dress without the jacket Fourth: Don't like the shorts over leggings bag lady chic look. Fifth: I like the plaid jacket Sixth: I like this dress. I think the blue and copper is a nice mix Seventh: OK Eight:Suspenders over bare skin :puke: Nine: I kind of like the neckline because it is different but I hate the empire waist with that neckline. Ten: I like this look the purple really pops Eleven: I'm not a big fan of tiered fabrics but I like where the layers hit except for the waistline .The model looks pregnant. Twelve: The knit hat doesn't bother me on this I guess the gloves make it make sense. Thirteen: I really like this dress the purple, lilac, and blue look great. Just from looking at the pics Daniel : I love 2 of his looks , hate 4 , the rest are OK Chloe: I loved 4 designs, hated 2, the rest are OK Santino : I loved 8 of his designs, hated 2 of his minidresses, the rest are OK, but one of his dresses is the worst of all the designers. Overall, just from looking at still pics I say Santino should win. The reason I hated one minidress is because it is too short and he paired it with an army jacket and I can not describe the hideousness of one of his dresses. illustriousgirl 03-08-2006, 11:47 AM Just from looking at the pics Daniel : I love 2 of his looks , hate 4 , the rest are OK Chloe: I loved 4 designs, hated 2, the rest are OK Santino : I loved 8 of his designs, hated 2 of his minidresses, the rest are OK, but one of his dresses is the worst of all the designers. Spoilery PR discussion I liked Chloe's the best, followed by Santino, followed by Daniel. I loved Daniel's designs in the rest of the season, so it's too bad that his collections doesn't look as good now. My only comment on their outfits is the poofiness. I really don't like poofy clothes, I like stuff that's baggy or form fitting. Poofy should be reserved for prom dresses. EDIT: SPOILERS FROM FINALE, DON'T HIGHLIGHT IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT YET. OMG Chloe won! See, who totally called it? Right here! Daniel came in second, which is nice. I love Daniel V's clothing! ZoeWashburne 03-08-2006, 11:30 PM EDIT: SPOILERS FROM FINALE, DON'T HIGHLIGHT IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT YET. OMG Chloe won! See, who totally called it? Right here! Daniel came in second, which is nice. I love Daniel V's clothing! Yayyyy!!! Go Chloe!! I was so happy for her. I liked her collection the best - her color palette was so feminine and beautiful. And she was so solid the entire show that she deserved to win. I was happy too that Daniel V come in second - he has so much talent and I've loved so much of what he's done. As for Santino, I did like a lot of his dresses. But I think Nina was right - they were very not-Santino. And I really liked Kara's collection - it had attitude. I really liked the colors - her last dress was gorgeous! It was a lot better than the majority of what she did on the show! Wait, so when's the next season going to be?? I miss the show already! addicted2much 03-09-2006, 08:51 AM The clothes definitely looked better seeing them on the models as they walked down the runway. I still like most of Santino's dresses better as individual pieces , but Chloe's was the better line. I knew that Michael Kors was gonna offer Daniel a job :lol2: , if he didn't win. He said, he was a big Dan fan . I think overall this season was better than season 1. I think the challenges were better and the designers were better, but I know they have to have people that really have no chance to make a good story of "my dream come true just to be here" Bravo announced there will be a season 3 of Project Runway airing at the end of the year. I know the Brits have a version called Project Catwalk and I need to find info on that show. illustriousgirl 03-09-2006, 08:57 AM I think they should give Santino, Dan V., Andrae, Nick and Tim Gunn their own show. It would be freaking hysterical. Plus, I really want to hear more Project Runway: The Musical. Lost_In_Louisiana 03-09-2006, 09:06 AM {spoiler fonted where necessary for the people who recorded it} I liked the colors Kara used - especially in the purple & blue kimono wrap dress. But about half of her collection didn't appear to be connected to the other half in any way. It looked like 2 different designers showing 2 completely different looks. As for the winner: As far as the show goes, I think the judges called it right. Chloe's evening wear was dramatic and perfectly fitted to the models' bodies. Daniel V had a few Kara moments where certain pieces did not appear to fit in with the "story" of his collection and that was a big sticking point with the judges. Santino's collection had a major flaw with fitting. Heidi was so right, the boobs were in the wrong place! As I watched the models walk down the runway, I kept thinking the models had really low boobs or something. Then when Heidi made that comment I realized it was the fit of the dress that was all wrong - not the models themselves! Santino's collection did not reflect his personality at all! Part of what made his outfits so cool and memorable all season was the outrageousness of his design and all the "extras" that he tended to sew on at the last moment. His collection was definitely too safe and did not scream "Santino" at all. :( That said, I liked the pieces in this collection better - looking at them from the point of practicality. I would be able to actually WEAR these clothes! I'll be keeping an eye out for this designer when they strike out on their own. Great Finale!!! Joshypoo 03-09-2006, 12:25 PM I was really disappointed in the clothes in the finale - compared to last year's, they were soooo boring. Chloe's collection was the best - and that's not saying much. I was totally unimpressed with Daniel's collection - nothing stood out to me, dullsville city. Santino didn't show his personality at all. I think he could have won if he did. All in all, the judges chose correctly. ZoeWashburne 03-09-2006, 05:47 PM I think overall this season was better than season 1. I think the challenges were better and the designers were better, but I know they have to have people that really have no chance to make a good story of "my dream come true just to be here" Bravo announced there will be a season 3 of Project Runway airing at the end of the year. I agree, addicted2much! I think this season was better overall too. I loved the challenges this season - they were so varied. I also liked the designers better this year, not neccesarily as designers, but as people to watch. I found the show more entertaining. Maybe that's totally because of Santino, Andrae and Tim Gunn though.... :wink1: I have heard a few people say the finale collections weren't as strong this year and I do agree with that too, as Kara and Jay had amazing collections last year. I do think all three this year though were better than Wendy's. She had some nice pieces, but hers was even less of a collection than Daniel V's. Ugh - I didn't really like hers. And thanks for the info on next season! Lost_In_Louisiana 07-23-2006, 10:56 PM  Project Runway: Season 3 (http://www.bravotv.com/Project_Runway/) has just started its run on Bravo! The first show let us see how they cast the designers/contestants. Episode 1 ran right after the casting show and then Episode 2 ran this week. So we are still in the beginning of the show! It's not too late to join in! I hope there are others watching PR 3 because we get a little fanatical about it in my house. It's fun to pretend we are fashionistas, even if we are only doing it from the couch. ;) So, are there any other Project Runway fans out there????? :Jumpy: waltisfuture 07-24-2006, 12:30 AM I caught a bit of the premiere show, but something else was on the rest of the family wanted to watch ... but I will definately get up to speed and watch the new shows. The bit I caught had Tim saying this was the most talented bunch so far. I hope he's right. Late at night I've caught Project Catwalk (UK) and it's just as good, but with really cool accents. Blue Coral 07-24-2006, 05:00 PM I finally started watching this show last week when they had a premiere on nbc. They had to make clothes out of fabrics and anything they could find in their rooms. It looks interesting and I will definitely tune in tonight. sunshinekitty1 07-24-2006, 11:16 PM I love love love this show! I don't have cable at my apartment, so I've been watching episodes on Monday on NBC. Does anyone know when they repeat episodes on Bravo on the weekends? I go out to my parent's house then and I keep missing it. Does anyone have any favorites so far? I'm still undecided. Blue Coral 07-25-2006, 08:46 AM I don't know what season they are giving on nbc but last night someone got booted and I was really mad. His name was Mulan or Milan or something and he was really nice! And they kept a girl who didn't even sketch anything in the first place! I'm just letting off some steam, don't mind me. My favorite so far is Kayne I think his name is? He's got orangy hair and had experience with pageants and things like that. Anyway, I like him. Lost_In_Louisiana 07-26-2006, 12:08 AM I don't know what season they are giving on nbc but last night someone got booted and I was really mad. His name was Mulan or Milan or something and he was really nice! And they kept a girl who didn't even sketch anything in the first place! Hmmm, I didn't even know they were showing the episodes on NBC! I saw the episode that booted Malan a few days ago on Bravo. The show is supposed to air on Bravo on Wednesdays at 10/9central but they show several repeats throughout the week so if you miss it, you can definitely catch up. I was FURIOUS :angryfire that they let Malan go when Angela didn't even sketch an idea!!! And if this challenge was about teamwork, Vincent or Angela should have gone home. Vincent was a control-freak and Angela's sewing skills were questionable at best. Malan's exit interview was just about the saddest, most pitiful thing I have EVER seen! :sadwave: I don't know anyone who didn't cry, or at least mist up a bit. That really broke my heart. :broken_heart: Malan truly surprised me. He seemed a bit snooty at first, but then he began to show his genuinely warm personality. I sent a message to him on his myspace account and he actually wrote me back! I can't believe he took the time to do that since I know he has received a ton of support mail. He was very very sweet. :mushy: I wish him all the best. Late at night I've caught Project Catwalk (UK) and it's just as good, but with really cool accents. Sounds cool! On what channel does the show air? Can we see it in the US? That reminds me! Which models are y'all rooting for? My daughter is cheering for Toni - but only because that's my daughter's name too! I like Jia, Narzi, and Moon so far. I love Katie Biassou's face but her walk is waaaay too over-dramatic for me. She swings her hips out SO far that I think it really ruins the line of the dress. I was especially distracted by her walk when she wore Kayne's dress. Pageant contestants don't walk that way so the dress didn't show as well. In her picture for Rate the Runway (http://www.bravotv.com/Project_Runway/rate/season/3/episode/2/2), her hip is thrust far out to the side and her belly sticks waaay out. I just don't think her movements are flattering at all. Katie Champion got super-lucky getting hooked up with Laura! She will probably get to the finals on that alone! But to me her face is just too "cutesy" for haute couture runway modeling. Ok - let's hear y'all's input!!! :1smiling: waltisfuture 07-26-2006, 02:20 AM I discovered both Project Runway and Project Catwalk on Life channel (601) on my satellite. They were on late at night 12 and 1, and there was nothing on TV so I checked them out and was sooo hooked, I'd stay up till 1 just to watch it. The Season 3 of Project Runway is on NBC, but I'm not sure if Season 1 and 2 were. Anyways, I caught the last half of the show when Malan got the boot, and I agree he was robbed. His dress didn't wow me, but he didn't deserve to go. I watched his exit video, and it was touching. I also watched all the other vids and am totally up to speed now. I especially loved the mom of 5's comment on the slippery slope of sweat pants and mini vans. I don't have a clear fav yet. I watched the vids on Jay, from season 1. LOVE HIM. I was surprised he hasn't done more, but his reasons are really good ones, and I wish him all the best. As far as the models go, I don't pay any attention to them unless there like the drunk blonde from season 1, or the blonde who wore her outfit out and got it ripped. Have the models who were with the past season winners done anything with their 15 minutes of fame? I know they got a spread in a magazine (Elle?), and you've got me curious now. Lost_In_Louisiana 07-26-2006, 03:13 AM As far as the models go, I don't pay any attention to them unless there like the drunk blonde from season 1, or the blonde who wore her outfit out and got it ripped. Have the models who were with the past season winners done anything with their 15 minutes of fame? I know they got a spread in a magazine (Elle?), and you've got me curious now. I'm also a sucker for America's Next Top Model so I guess I pay more attention to the models than most. They really can affect the way an outfit falls, how it moves, etc. Fashion critics will say that the best of the best can model a garbage bag and make it look great. Well, I wouldn't go that far ...... ;) But a good model can lend a bit of class to a simplistic piece. I think the worry comes in when you have a really baaad model. A great model may not be able to save a freakishly designed dress, but a horrible model can absolutely ruin even the showcase piece of a designer's line. :lipsseal: Blue Coral 07-26-2006, 08:58 AM Hmmm, I didn't even know they were showing the episodes on NBC! And then when he said the story of how his own mother threw out his sketch book saying it ill amount to nothing? My heart broke in tiny pieces. And that Angela...ugh...and don't even get me started on Vincent. That is so cool he replied to you too. He is such a sweetheart indeed. Lost_In_Louisiana 07-26-2006, 02:27 PM On his website/blog Malan said he was going to write to everyone that gave him loving support and I remember thinking, "there is no WAY he can do that!" But apparently it was important to him that he acknowledge everyone who sent their well wishes in a personal way. This is what Malan sent to me: holly, thank you so much for your kind words! it is really hard to pick yourself back up and believe again, but I am doing it , i intend to have a show in september during ny fashion week, i want to show the world that auf wiedesen does not mean its over. thank you , malan breton His note just made me even sadder! :frown: He's such a sweet, sensitive little soul that I hate for him to be crushed like this. But hey, I just had a thought! Next week, the promos showed Tim Gunn saying "this was totally against the rules of the show" and telling someone that they had to leave. Do you think it possible that they could bring Malan back to take their place??? That would be so awesome! :) Blue Coral 07-27-2006, 11:55 AM That would be awesome... and that note he sent to you was really really nice LiL! sunshinekitty1 07-27-2006, 08:48 PM Now I have to go find his myspace page! I didn't like his dress, but I thought that Angela or Vincent would be leaving for sure. I thought they'd have gotten rid of Vincent in the first episode with that awful hat. I haven't seen the third episode yet, they show it on NBC on Monday. As for models - I've never really thought about it. I know there are a few models that I hate their walk. It reminds me of a Tennessee Walking Horse. I'm going to have to pay attention next week in order to discuss! Lost_In_Louisiana 07-28-2006, 12:09 AM Now I have to go find his myspace page! I think they call that odd walk where they pick up their knees so high the Brazilian Stomp. A really great model can pull it off and it looks "fierce" but when these newer, less experienced models try it it can come off looking just like you said: a Tennessee Walking Horse!!! :horse: :24: I only got interested in the models themselves at the end of last season because it suddenly occurred to me that this is a competition for them too and the designers can really make or break the models' chances. :undecide: sunshinekitty1 07-31-2006, 01:35 AM I became inspired and did a search for myspace profiles. I was mad that NBC didn't air it. They showed a new talent contest show instead. So I missed episode 3, but I went to my parent's house and caught the last half of episode 4. This is the episode where someone was asked to leave. What did everyone think about that? Lost_In_Louisiana 08-05-2006, 02:13 AM This is the episode where someone was asked to leave. What did everyone think about that? I felt it was completely fair to Keith AND to the other contestants. There could have been no other way to handle it. If you watch some of the extra video on the website (http://www.bravotv.com/Project_Runway/), you see many of them discussing the situation and how big a deal it was for Keith to have a pattern making book. A lot of the contestants this year are already established designers within narrow fields that want to go national/global/what-have-you. Kayne designs pageant gowns. Jeffrey designs performance outfits for rockers. And being that they are already fairly successful, they have reached that point in their career where they only design the clothes - they don't actually have to hand sew them. They hire people to do that! ;) So, as Kayne explains in the video, having an instructional sewing book was very much a cheat because many of these designers have not sewn their own outfits for years and have forgotten a lot of techniques. And the worst part is, Keith didn't even NEED those books!!! I loved his designs!!! They didn't show Bradley discussing the situation very much on tv but in one of the videos where Keith is apologizing to the ladies on the show, he explains how incredibly upset Bradley was - because he shared a room with Keith and was freaked out at the thought that the judges might think HE had benefitted from those books also. I did feel bad for Bradley because he was convinced that now all of his former work would be suspect and his ethics questioned because since he shared a room with Keith that meant he would potentially have had access to Keith's books. Keith did A LOT of apologizing to Bradley. Overall, the situation stunk but what else could you do? :undecide: Julie 08-05-2006, 02:32 PM I felt it was completely fair to Keith AND to the other contestants. It was a pretty lame way to cheat--why did he have the books out in the open like that??? Is he that dense? He seemed to revel in breaking the rules all along. Note to future contestants: YOU HAVE TO KNOW HOW TO SEW. They should screen the contentants for sewing skills before they are allowed to be on the show. Duh. Lost_In_Louisiana 08-13-2006, 12:02 AM Note to future contestants: YOU HAVE TO KNOW HOW TO SEW. They should screen the contentants for sewing skills before they are allowed to be on the show. Duh. Yknow, I have to say I would get really aggravated whenever something would come out that so-and-so designer didn't know how to sew, or couldn't use a sewing machine. What dolts! An aspiring fashion designer that doesn't know how to use a sewing machine??? WTF is that??? :irked: Anyway, I came to this thread to post something from Malan. He is just the kindest, sweetest person I've ever come to know! (We've been emailing each other and he's been a rock of support to me during a recent difficult time) He's so sensitive and cute you just want to hug him like a teddy bear. :mushy: He is crazy with stress right now because he is preparing for Fashion Week, so he posted this on his blog: It is getting into a very busy time for me with fashion week so near. Please know I am thinking of you all and I thank you for your kindness and beautiful words. A part of each of you has inspired this season's collection. I have an idea! Why not become friendly amongst each other and then when I come back you will have amazing stories to tell me of your new journey, and your new friends. I adore you all for being so different and each individual so beautiful, thank you. We all come from different places but with great intentions, to dream and love. Never forget to wake up in the morning, look in that mirror and say "I am beautiful and amazing and can do anything I set my mind to." I adore you all so much. I came to myspace with very few friends and now I have so many beautiful people to get to know. Thank you all. I mean, how can you not just get all mushy reading that? Malan really is the most compassionate, supportive, and loving person I've ever met. oaf815 08-26-2006, 02:02 PM each week i love the assignments more and more-last weeks was a HOOT!!!!!!! robert's dress made the woan look like a fat bullfighter and i really think uli should have won-----vincent's was nice but uli's was well thought out b/c she used print and then stripes to elongate her models look addicted2much 09-07-2006, 09:56 AM I am so glad, that Vincent is finally gone. :) sunshinekitty1 09-07-2006, 01:38 PM Now that more people are out, any predictions on the final three? Did you see the previews for this week? It looks like Laura just loses it. If she messes up her next project, she'll be out of there. Plus, her designs are always one note. The judges are looking for something that really wows them, and they seem to really like Jefferey and his craziness. ame en peine 09-11-2006, 11:13 PM I am so glad, that Vincent is finally gone. :) Just stepping in to say I agree... If I had to hear him say "it just gets me off" one more time.... Now that more people are out, any predictions on the final three? I think Michael will win. I think Uli, Michael, and Laura will be the final three. I want Kayne to be in instead of Laura, because I like him and Laura's clothes are all very similar. I'm rooting for Michael too. Then Uli. I guess there has to be a 3rd, so Jeffrey. Laura's driving me nuts with her high & mighty attitude and cookie-cutter rip-offs...errr.....knock-offs...errrr.....designs. addicted2much 09-14-2006, 11:08 AM I thought it was a nice twist to bring back Vincent and Angela and give them another chance, since they won a challenge. I also think it was right to tell them win the challenge or you are out. Does anyone know how Vincent's model is doing? I heard she was hit by a bus.:eek2: Kayne is gone , but I am thinking someone will choose his model. She is so elegant and makes the clothes look wonderful. Laura had me convinced she was leaving , even though I loved her dress. Ulli is great , but she is repetitive.I guess Jeffrey is the Wendy/Santino , so he will definitely get final 3. Michael , Jeffrey , and Laura will be final 3. Petragrrl 09-14-2006, 12:12 PM Ooooooh... me second-favorite Summer '06 Guilty Pleasure... :) Good to see some familiar faces in here :) a2m, Those are my final three as well... I like Uli (since she's a fellow German), but her clothes are getting a bit repetitive indeed. P.S. My little daughter (she's 7) LOVES Project Runway... she can give a perfect Heidi imitation of... "one day yoor inn, the next day yoor outttt!" Honbun26 09-14-2006, 01:55 PM It was cool to see Angela and Vincent back, even though I knew they were gonna get kicked off again. But, dang!, they didn't even get the air kisses this time. I think the final 3 will definately have Laura and Michael. But as for the 3rd person, it could be either Uli or Jeffery. The judges had the same comment about both of them - their designs never change. Uli is all about Miami Beach stuff and Jefferey is all about the rock star look. Neither one has moved out of their comfort zone. So, who the 3rd person is, I think, will depend on how Uli and Michael do next week - will they listen to the judges and try something new? It certainly worked for Laura. And, poor Laura! She's so hormonal right now and this stress just seems to kick it up a notch. Petragrrl 09-14-2006, 04:16 PM As for Angela and Vincent having had a second chance... I think Alison would've been much more deserving, and her black/white clothes would've kicked butt! I don't think she's ever won a competition, though... but I remember her coming in second at least once... OK... I added this Friday, Sept. 15th - apparently our final four have all debuted a collection during NY Fashion Week... article plus pictures can be found here (http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20060915/en_nm/media_runway_dc)... ... which makes me wonder: Is this part of the next challenge? The 4th designer is merely a decoy to keep the show as unspoiled as possible. Sooo, who is the decoy??????? That would answer my question... Personally, I was surprised how much I liked Jeffrey's collection... better than Michael's, actually. addicted2much 09-17-2006, 06:26 PM I guess the designer who was auf'd in 4th place didn't have to do everything on their own. :) Petragrrl 09-18-2006, 11:01 AM I read in USAToday today :) that a (purely speculative) hint also might be that one of the designers was not showing a bathing suit in the collection... while all the others were. ETA: spoiler-fonted as suggested by addicted2much (thanks - *hugs*) addicted2much 09-18-2006, 12:04 PM I think that is a big hint. That is true, but Michael has TWO bathing suits in his line. However, I think this spoiler is on the money because I believe Michael already had a bathing suit in his collection and then they threw in the extra item as a bonus challenge - so he ended up with 2 bathing suits. Oh and here's a new link to the Project Runway Fashion Show (http://nymag.com/fashion/fashionshows/2007/spring/main/newyork/womenrunway/michaelknight/)with better pics than the ones I had before. I like all the collections.Michael's is very sexy and so is Laura's . I don't know who will win. Petragrrl 09-27-2006, 11:41 PM Apparently no-one was the decoy... how unusual and exciting at the same time... If I were a judge I'd hand it to Jeffrey based on his NY Fashion Week collection. I love his green/black striped blazer and handbags with the zipper applique - I'd so buy that! Didn't like Michael's at all and am actually quite disappointed at that... I thought Laura's and Uli's collections were pretty but too much of the same. addicted2much 09-28-2006, 10:15 AM I'm glad they all have a chance. Michael's dress was really bad last night. I think it would have looked better, if the front of the dress was the back of the dress. Laura does love her plunging necklines. They aren't really breast friendly. :) Jeffrey got a much softer edit , than he has had in past shows. Lost_In_Louisiana 10-01-2006, 04:32 AM Jeffrey got a much softer edit , than he has had in past shows. I noticed that too. Do you think they are setting him up to take the prize? I have to say that even though I'm not much of a Jeffrey fan, the collection he presented at Fashion Week was very new and interesting. addicted2much 10-07-2006, 08:50 AM The reunion show was great. Could Keith be more bitter? He made some interesting claims. He said the books disappeared and then reappeared. It is possible someone in production removed them , but put them back for the drama of them being discovered. He knew they were not allowed. Several of the contestants in interviews said, they were told several times they could not have books and they seemed to say the same thing during the reunion. I realized while watching the show last night that I totally forgot to spoiler-font my last post in which I "critiqued" everybody's Fashion Week collections... so sorry, y'all :undecide: Will Jeffrey "make" it big, or will he vanish in obscurity (coughlikethepreviouswinnerscough)?
