What i didn't like in the TTT was that the elves come to fight instead of the trees. Sure they show up in the EE, but that isn't how it is in the books. But Pete, Fran, and Philepa(sp?) did a great job on writing all three. Oh, and when Frod tells Sam to leave in the ROTK, I was like what, Sam gets attacked by Gollum in the book. That was odd.

The EAHD didn't bother me much (though I was pretty upset at first). Otherwise, because we don't hear about the forces martching on Lothlorien and Imladris, it's so easy to assume that the elves just don't care. This was a good way to showing that, in fact, they *do* care, without having to change the plot. <3 Huorns <3

Frodo sending Sam away made me very angry at first. In fact, just until recently. Then I got involved in a thread about it over on TORC and somehow decided that, in fact, it worked. I think Iavas had something to do with that. I should go read that thread again. Can't remember *why* I thought it worked, now. But I do remember getting really angry at someone. Hmm. :-X I miss TORC.

I don't know. It's a little odd still, but it did work...I guess. hehe!!

TTT was, as I said, my least favourite.* Still upset about Faramir.* >:( >:(*

ROTK has most of my favourite *scenes*: the Ride of the Rohirrim, the Grey Havens, the Beacons, the Houses of Healing.* However, I felt it wasn't well editted:* there were too many loose ends, too many unnecessary asides, too much that didn't fit.

FOTR felt right.* When I saw FOTR in theatres, I would quite literally forget that I was in a theatre, and be shocked when the credits started to roll, finding tears streaming down my face for Boromir.* *"Where is Boromir the fair?* He tarries and I grieve."* I love that poem. . .* Not that FOTR is perfect.* I mean, Xenarwen??!?!* Grr.* >:( >:(* But yeah, as a movie, I would say that FOTR is the best.

CharlieLuv, thanks! ;D* I'm quite fond of it.* *David= :malelovies: Heck, Sean Bean, too. ;D

Nope its true. I can't wait for it. I haven't watched the 1st EE movie in a long time. I can't sit through the whole movie of the Fellowship. I seem to get tired easily, but I have no problems with the Two Towers and Return of the King. Isn't that weird?

Wow, I'm the complete opposite of you CharlieClaire4ever.
Fellowship is soo much easier for me to sit through. It's probably because it's the shortest (by a litte bit anyway) and it's the most colorful. I think the darker tones in TT and RotK make me tired! I can't sit through those movies unless I'm really in the mood to watch them.

well, I don't mean the whole movie makes me tired its just towards the end. I'm not sure why but my favorite LOTR movie is RTK because it has something about it that draws me in. Anyway if I do watch the Fellowship I usually listen to the commentary because I like what the "Hobbits" say. And I totally respect what you say because people have different views to the movies.

Thanks! I was quite tickled by it as well. ;D ;D ;D Faramir :-* .

I find FOTR easiest to sit through. It's shorter, it flows better, it's less emotionally tiring. However, I don't usually watch the end because Boromir's death is just heart rending. :'( :'( :'( Takes me a while to recover from that. ROTK has the individual scenes that I love, so I'll often go back and watch those. But when I need my Faramir fix, I turn to the EE of TTT for the Sons of the Steward scene. ;D

gald to know i'm not alone. I guess mainly because it is such an intense movie and filled with so many different emotions...you just really have to be in the mood. I can watch it with friends too ...i think it gives me a sense of joy while watching a dark movie

I don't think On A Clear Day has a US release date yet. Sobs.* *Hey did anyone see Sin City? I could swear I saw a Billy cameo as a Scottish Mercenary but I'm not sure because the scene was very short. The character was uncredited in the closing credits. If anyone knows for sure, let me know.

when the work monsters decide to stop keeping me from leaving the building, i will finally go see Sin City, and i'll let you know okay

*glares at the work monsters* NO I WILL NOT STAY ANOTHER HOUR TO TRAIN SOMEONE ON DRIVE-THRU WHEN THE DRIVE-THRU TRAINER IS THERE.. LEAVE ME ALONE!!!

ahem.. sorry about that.. just a little psychotic break.. you'd have one to when you've been working an average of 9.5 hours everyday with no days off for a week... as of tomorrow, it'll be 8 days w/out a day off *sniff*....

i think i need some Hans Jensen

Another friend of mine saw Sin City and swears it was Billy at the tar pits as a Scottish mercenary. It's a very quick short scene, but we will see if anything comes out verifying it though. Also, Elijah is very creepy in this film so be forewarned.

I love all the books, but the first 167 pages are SO hard for me to get through. Once I am past those I am off and running and it only takes me days to read the rest of the books...speaking of which, I think that I need to read the books again. It has been a good 3 years since I completely read through all the books...I have read part of them here and there, but never finished them. ARG! I must finish reading the 3rd to compare it to the movie again. I think that I will start tonight. I need to spend less time on the net and more time reading! :lol2:

I've tried reading the books again for the 3rd or 4th time but I only got to the 1st chapter of Return of the King and stopped. I need to read it sometime soon but there so different from the movies. I rather watch the movie than read the books.

I just hate posting on threads that are already a zillion miles long before I get there...but this one has been split and is now shorter...so I'm declaring my declaring my devotion to middle-earth

I'm annoyed because while I was at University last year, my mom took all the wallpaper off my walls and was going to paint my room as a surprise....but instead she got busy and my walls have just been sitting there for a year now....which would be fine except she keeps promising she WILL paint my room, so I shouldnt' put up posters....And for the last 4 years at University I always had my entire room covered in LOTR posters...I have all these beautiful posters all rolled up and just sitting in my closet...it is very sad* :'(

Love Lord of the Rings! Hey, if there are any single Ringers out there, check out the site: www.samlovesrosie.com

It's a place to go talk LOTR with other single folks who are going through the (seemingly) eternal search for our Sams/Rosies.

Of course, we can talk about LOTR here too. I love to talk about my favorite Hobbits, Elves, Dwarves, Wizards, and Men.

Imagine what the world would be then. Flying cars and flying buses. Ok that's way to far in the future. :P

Do you think it's funny how the TV Shows back in the 60s, 70s, and 80s when they "went forward in time" they came to the 2000s like 2010 and there were cities out in space and flying cars and everybody was wearing silver outfits like it was some space nation or something. :lol2:

I know! Wasn't he cute in that? :lol2:

Did you watch the easter eggs on them? Go to scene selection on the first disc (it's on all three extended's but they are all different) and then go down to the very last scene and keep clicking down and you should see a ring underneath the "Main Menu" button. The Return of the King one is the best! :lol2:

slash- I LOVE your avie! That is so cute and funny! :lol2:

It was with him and Sarah Michelle Gellar parodying the council of Elrond....

And Jack had gotten the ring pierced on his (umm...) in a drunken stupour :lol2:

It's on the Fellowship disc

It's on the Fellowship Extended version...I'd love to tell you exactly where...but I'm really lazy and I made my friend look it up on the internet and then play all the Easter Eggs for me on my DVD's...so I actually don't know. I just sat back and let her do all the work :lol2:

Anyone from the UK watching Sir Ian McKellen in the Northern based soap, Coronation Street?

Don't he look different when he's given the northern makeover, rather than a Hollywood one.* *:D

Aw.........you did good! You got a guy who can appreciate your love of LOTR! :lol2: By boyfriend (at the time of Christmas) got my the Extended Edition of ROTK because that was the only movie, out of the 6, that I didn't have.

It's funny, he always seems to know what to get me but I have no clue what to get him. :lol2:
