View Full Version : Mean Girls
EarlhamGirl 07-04-2006, 06:38 PM This is one of my favorite movies of all time!! :D I know it's not substantive, but it is so hilarious! I love Lindsay Lohan so much and thought she was great! Rachel McAdams was killer as the Queen Bee, Regina George. Are there any other fans of this movie on the 'lage? ;)
LostFan_Jamie 07-04-2006, 07:51 PM Ha ha, I like Karen, the stupid one that thinks she has "ESPN" :)
Classic movie...
Blue Coral 07-04-2006, 10:13 PM I don't really like Lindsay Lohan but I must admit the movie was good. Now Rachel McAdams? Gawsh...I love her. She is an amazing actress and is destined for an Oscar one day. The movie was great.

I guess there aren't alot of LiLo lovers on the 'lage! :undecide: I like her alot... So, I'll just keep those thoughts to myself! ;)
hollisterbumx3 07-06-2006, 10:02 PM That was Lohan before she went evil.
Great movie, one of my favorites. I thought it would be one of those typical teen movies. Tina Fey did a great job on the script.

You're right! There is nothing typical about it! I felt so bad when Cady accused her of being a pusher! :frown:

Yeah. Did you know my name is Cady too, as in
C-A-D-Y! I always get made fun of it, and no one pronouces my name right..
missmaj 07-07-2006, 11:44 PM I've probably seen this movie about 10 times already...everytime I see it it's like watching it for the first time....LOVE IT!!!

I feel that way about "Mean Girls" too! :D You always find new jokes in the same movie! I think I've seen it around 5 times! ;)

I feel bad for you, because I'm sure I would mis-pronounce your name too! :frown:
QueenElessar 07-13-2006, 03:46 PM I own this movie...and I was just watching it the other day.
I think it's so well written...and defintely says a lot about the way women and girls treat eachother. Even though it's an overexaggeration...there's a lot of truth to it...which is why it's so funny! ;)
I honestly have to say thought...that I enjoy Lindsay Lohan. I don't enjoy Lilo the celeb...the party girl, the constant tabloid prescense. But I've thought since "The parent Trap" that she had real potential as an actress. She's charismatic, and funny...and she's very likeable on camera. The problem is that people are only ever going to remember her from her public escapades and not for her work :undecide:

I have to agree with you on both counts! It is a great movie and I don't like LiLo! I like Lindsay Lohan the actress! :D If Lindsay ever wants to be considered a serious actress, and it seems she does by the roles she's starting to take, she has to start acting like one!
SayidSawyerFan 07-15-2006, 12:14 PM Mean Girls is one of my favorite movies. There are so many great quotes from it. I love the part where the girls are in the Christmas talent show, Karen accidentally kicks the stereo and it hits that Jason guy in the face! :rotflmao2:

I love how Cady saves the day by having everyone sing the song in place of the stereo! ;)
SayidSawyerFan 07-15-2006, 08:11 PM I love this part as well:
Damien: [delivering candy canes] Taylor Zimmermann, two for you. Glenn Coco? FOUR for you, Glenn Coco! You go, Glenn Coco. And uh..."Caddy" Heron. Do we have a "Caddy" Heron here?
Cady: It's Cady.
Damien: Oh Cady, here you go, one for you... And none for Gretchen Wieners, bye.
I also love one of the extras on the DVD that's supposed to be like a PSA. I can't remember the name of it, though.

I'll have to rent it again to see the extras! ;)
SayidSawyerFan 07-18-2006, 03:04 PM Go for it. The only thing I really don't like about the DVD, is that you have to fastforward through a bunch of previews for other stuff.

I've been meaning to get it for a while! It sounds like it is so worth it! ;)
SayidSawyerFan 07-18-2006, 06:03 PM Based on what she did with the script, Tina Fey should write another movie.

She does some pretty good writing on Saturday Night Live, so yeah. She's quite a comedic person and then with Mean Girls she invented words like "fetch".

I love that word! After the movie, one of my friends started saying fetch all the time! I love the part in the movie where Regina says "Stop trying to make fetch happen Gretchen!" :D That is so hilarious! ;)
SayidSawyerFan 07-20-2006, 02:26 PM "Stop trying to make 'fetch' happen. It's not going to happen!"
EarlhamGirl 07-20-2006, 09:18 PM "Stop trying to make 'fetch' happen. It's not going to happen!"
You're right! That's the exact quote! ;) I love how after that Gretchen starts to doubt herself and spill secrets about Regina's life! :D
SayidSawyerFan 07-21-2006, 10:09 AM "Oh my God, Danny DeVito, I love your work!"

Here's some more for ya:
[seeing all the girls fighting]
Mr. Duvall: Hell, no. I did *not* leave the South Side for this!
[hits fire alarm with a baseball bat]
Karen: Gretchen, I'm sorry I laughed at you that time you got diarrhea at Barnes & Nobles.
[beat]
Karen: And I'm sorry for telling everyone.
[beat]
Karen: And I'm sorry for repeating it just now.
Karen: If you're from Africa, why are you white?
Gretchen: Oh my God, Karen, you can't just ask people why they're white.

luv me_ luv lost 07-25-2006, 02:16 PM It's a classic teenage movie. One of my favourite and its hilarious.
SayidSawyerFan 07-25-2006, 03:06 PM I agree that it's a classic. At another board I go to, every once in a while someone will start a post with quotes from the movie and the next thing you know, a bunch more people join in.
Lost-in-Darkness 07-28-2006, 08:05 AM i love mean girls, i got it last year on dvd and it wicked ! the plastics are funny and remind of people in my own class at school ;) its good how its realistic too, one of my favourite movies :)
Blue Coral 07-28-2006, 12:27 PM Cady:Um, is there alcohol in this?
Regina's mom: Oh, God, honey, no! What kind of mother do you think I am? Why, do you want a little bit? Because if you're going to drink I'd rather you do it in the house.
Amy Poehler was hilarious as the mom! All her scenes were funny.
