on many boards, when you post a topic, or a reply, you are automatically forwarded to that topic page, and you actually see your reply
the fuselage must be the first board i've seen (and i've seen many) where you are forwared to the index page after submitting a thread or a reply
i noticed that at some points today i was forwarded to the topic itself after a reply with a new#new in the url (maybe a test by Karri)
I know you have load issues on the server, so maybe viewing one's post after posting is a good thing to have a little of this load off the server
When we post replies, on "hot subjects", very often people will go back inside the thread to see how their reply "fits" in the thread, and sometimes even because by the time the index page has loaded it has a "new" icon next to it, because someone replied in the split second the page loaded
that's a waste of SQL queries and of bandwidth for the server. It would be best, imo, to redirect the poster directly to view his new post after he submitted it, that may ease up the server load a bit
i hope you got what i was trying to say
