WOO HOO!
http://www.ew.com/ew/report/0,6115,1537626_3_0_,00.html

Great article - some mild spoilers so you might want to skip if you are trying to stay spoiler free. They talk about the Frak word a lot but mostly it is praise for the show and why it is so good.

the show has distinguished itself as one of television's very best dramas — on a par with 24, The Wire, and Lost — because it so utterly transcends both its genre and its source material.

They also talk about how hard it is to get people to watch the show. Despite the buzz, you say BSG and people lose interest. EJO talks about how even his agent won't watch. I know how he feels, I have been trying to get my fiancee to watch for 2 years now....and he likes sci-fi. (watches frakking stargate right after bsg!!  )

Between this and the little Lost book, I was all squealy fangirl when my magazine arrived on Friday. :)
On the cover shot, I really think they could have done a better job with Tricia's wig though!

LOL I noticed that too. Not the best picture of her.
*note to self, remind fiancee that BSG stars a Victoria's Secret model...

Still, it's good for our little show to get some more publicity. It has been on TV Guide before but I don't recall much on the EW front.
It is probably too dark, edgy and thought provoking to ever be mainstream but a few more viewers wouldn't hurt.

Although it is nice to hear that the DVD sales are strong (#7 on Amazon) and wow - almost 2 million webisode downloads! Frakking amazing. It is also #22 on itunes - which is pretty good considering it is mixed in with shows like Greys, 24, Lost, The Office etc.

12 days, 1 hour, 33 minutes to go

How evil does Gaius look? I literally cannot wait until this season - Gaius is going to have the greatest arc. I'm looking forward to seeing how they portray him, because we're used to seeing him as the comic relief, whereas now he's very much the villian.

Thanks for posting this, newfgirl. And make sure you convert your fiancee! :)

I am SO ready. And I am heading to the store after work today to pick up the EW mag, though I will just be flipping through the piccies for now. Trying so hard to stay unspoiled.

I agree about Tricia's wig, but I LOVE her red nails in James' hair. It is so fantastic.

What was cool was that I didn't even notice the fingernails until about the third time I looked at the picture. :)

Kristin on E! also had a giant shout out about the series in her column this week. I won't post most of what she said since it is spoilerlishis but here is what she says in general:

And three of the best dang shows anywhere on television return this very week: ABC's Lost (which comes back Wednesday), the CW's Veronica Mars (Tuesday) and yes, I'm gonna say it, 'cause I mean it, Sci Fi's Battlestar Galactica (Friday)
Yes, my friends, geek is chic when it comes to the small screen and for good reason: These mind-blowingly unpredictable, cultish shows are so freaking addictive not even mainstream America (nor the Ivy!) can ignore them.

Battlestar Tease-o-Rama: How frakkin' good is Battlestar Galactica? So frakkin' good that Miss Veronica Mars herself has adopted the frakkin' lingo, saying "frak" at least twice in the first two episodes of the CW show. Frak yeah!

BSG is heating up for its third season and, according to Jamie Bamber (I'll wait, while you wipe the drool that name conjures up),
this season is "up one level from what we've done before, because it's intense, and there are a lot of things you won't see coming."

The thought of BSG being more intense makes me giddy and just a little frightened at the same time. (but in a good way ;) )

Bonus!!
BSG was added to EW's list of TV Watch shows - so they re-cap/comment on each show. More good press/buzz -and they will get it every week!

This is the way every show should start a season. With both revelations and answers. With shock and awe. With truth and consequences. With cast-iron balls.

Hot damn!
