Can you please give me some advice? I ask you, and all the other writers, because I feel Lost is one of the best (if not the best) written shows ever made, and I would hold any advice you could give me as golden. Basically I am an 18 year-old aspiring TV writer from the UK and it is so frustrating lying in this quagmire that I find myself in, I need to know if I can do anything to help my situation out, right now. I will move to America after I finish my degree but I am so determined I want to start writing now, I fire off spec scripts like there’s no tomorrow, but it’s all to no avail until I get to America; and even then I will have to struggle to find a nice/stupid enough agent to take me under their wing. So rambling concluded could you give me any advice to help me out? Please help me out of my quagmire!

if you are serious about it and are truly considering moving to la to write for american tv then you already have an idea of what you have to do - the best and only advice i can give you is to stay at it, keep writing those specs (the more you do the better you get) and consider an advanced degree from a film school here in the states. yes, it's a hard journey and a struggle but don't get quagmired - it can be done!

good luck -
