View Full Version : 1.22 - Landslide - General Discussion Superman 05-12-2007, 01:06 PM discuss and rate the show!! The Partyman 05-15-2007, 02:01 AM I didn't really like the way Jessica just randomly turned back into Nikki - it would have been better imho if we'd have seen more of a "Nikki breaking thorugh" than Jessica just shgurgging and giving up.. but I guess it servres the story well enough. :/ daddy Nakamura totally rocks! Who'd have thunk he would turn out to be one of the Good Guys? Yay! "Didn't I throw you out of a window?" Brilliant. Nice multi-cliffhanger too. :) Part of me thinks it would be so totally cool of Ando somehow DID manage to kill Sylar - all by himself with no superpowers. However I fear that is unlikley. :( Superman 05-15-2007, 02:17 AM pretty good episode... it had some slow moments but this is all leading up to a huge 2-hr finale next week so a lot of things had to be set up... really surprised with Eric Roberts and Linderman getting axed... DL looks like he's a goner too... yeah, it seemed like an out-of-character switch for Jessica (pardon the pun)... everything she did, she did for them? didn't seem like it... Ando is on his way to find Sylar... this doesn't bode well for the sidekick.... Sulu was tracking his son's progress all along, noice wanders01 05-15-2007, 06:53 AM I gave it a 9 . Why because it finally gave me some idea of what is going on..............Nakamora was one of the core group from the past, Nikki?jessica is coming to terms with both sides of herself. Candice doesn't really look like we see her. The one person who could have saved DL was the one he killed. and eventhough it is only an idea in my head and not based on knowledge I think that Hiro will die saving Ando and that his father know this JUST an opinion mind you. Finnster 05-15-2007, 07:32 AM Morning all... I rated it an 8 based on lackluster cliffhanger resolutions. The Peter thing was built up all week with the previews and just a "Hang on a sec... I got it ..." whatever... that was a huge let down. But that brings up a point. Some one in the live thread mentioned that Sylar has better control over his powers than Peter does and I agree with that to a point. Peter has ONLY begun to realize how to access his powers AFTER he has them. He has yet to learn how to absorb powers without letting them out into the open ( a la last nights glowing hands ). Sylar's power allows him to ingest others powers without letting them loose at the start and access them to play with them. He has done this for how long now? Still....a dangerous pairing of the two will be an AWESOME show down next week. By the way, if Peter survives, will he start eating brains to get powers??? hmmm....just a thought... Niki/Jessica/DL - Uhm...why the transformation? Was it to show us that Niki has more control than we were led to believe? I don't buy it. The writers could have worked that story a LITTLE better. They actually had up until the switch of personalities. I gotta admit though, that was a fairly NASTY way to go, having your brain phased out of your skull by some one's HAND is just wrong on ssssoooooooo many levels. Buh-bye Linderman....thanks fer playin'. So Candice is not exactly the incredibly hot looking chick we all think she is huh? Kinda like a Shallow Hal thing going on there eh? I thought that was kinda funny when she admitted that she was really a fat girl in disguise. But that made me think about something...can she effect what others FEEL around them as well as see? Linderman came in the room and the two hug...does he fell her normal body or the one she's allowing you to see? Interesting power there if she can manipulate the actual sense of touch as well as sight .... or can she manipulate ALL senses? ooooohhhh she is the embodiment of The Matrix I tell you.... Suresh / Molly - All I have to say is wow.... Thompson's death had to be the best form of poetic justice I have seen in a while. That was VERY well done in my opinion. I have to admit I completely glossed over the "tracking system" when they were talking about Molly's power last week. *doh*. But the cliffhanger here is not what I expected. Suresh is getting a LOT bolder in his days after being through what he has..... Hiro / Ando / Mr. Nakamura - AWESOME!!!! We now know that Hiro's father is a good guy. I really liked this story arc. It shows that his father was in the know from the beginning. I wonder what his actual power is though...??? Maybe we will find out next season if he continues on as a driving force of good against evil. Did Hiro pick up something from Charlie ... like her memory power? It seems he picked up on the sword play a little too easily. Even his father admitted that. Maybe it was just for dramatic effect then eh...?? And if anything Hiro has learned during his journey, it has been that he can effect the RIGHT NOW. The past is set. What ever has happened has to stay that way for the sake of now. Future events are unfolding, but if the NOW is changed, the unfolding of the future takes a different turn. Which means that if he doesn't hurry, Ando will be a dead man. Good show .... the finale will definately be a huge show.... lostgurl 05-15-2007, 11:50 AM I thought it was a mediocre episode. What I liked: - The death scenes were freaky and cool. Never expected Linderman to die. - Scary Sylar on top of the building at the end. - I really like Mohinder and Peter the best now, so everything with them was good...and they're both cuties. What I hated: - Niki/Jessica. I was hoping they would kill her off instead of DL. Her story is totally boring, and the way she "changes" between her two personalities just makes me roll my eyes every time. - I love Hiro to death, but it was a little silly seeing him become some kind of ninja in an hour or two. - for the love of God, someone take care of poor Isaac's body already. I'm glad the finale is next week, it looks pretty good! I think the whole bomb thing is starting to drag a little IMO, that might be why I haven't felt good about the last few episodes. Superman 05-15-2007, 03:30 PM considering the bomb is the entire story arc for S1, i'm surprised you've felt good about the show at all! lol j/k... i agree that Hiro's stuff was over the top in this ep with the whole yelling "villain" to Nathan and then learning to wield his sword... this episode copped out on 2 big things -- Jessica's change of heart and Peter's ability to stop his new Ted powers... then again, i suppose the Peter scene was a commentary to the Skylar scene at the end... someone mentioned it already that it shows that Peter has a hard time controlling his newfound powers, while Sylar is a methodical individual who instantly sees how to use them... candydandy 05-15-2007, 07:50 PM - for the love of God, someone take care of poor Isaac's body already. LOL exactly! What is the deal with that? I didn't mind the episode and just as I was beginning to like Ted he gets his brain eaten :( That was a bit sad. Poor Teddy Bear The whole Mohinder/HRG stand off thing will be cool to see next week Sylar was creepy eating his ice cream and stalking Peter, maybe he's a fanboy? ;) Yay that Linderman and Thompson both died, that was cool and they both got killed in cool ways too. HRG's line was awesome :) Not enough Peter for my liking hehe penyours 05-16-2007, 02:06 AM Yeah I have to say this was the first episode I wasn't glued to the set, I was actually reading the news on my laptop while the episode was airing. c.. i agree that Hiro's stuff was over the top in this ep with the whole yelling "villain" to Nathan and then learning to wield his sword... Yup this is how I felt as well. - The death scenes were freaky and cool. Never expected Linderman to die. I was a bit disappointed Linderman was killed, it seemed like they were setting up a whole plotline about linderman's plans, and now suddenly he is out of the picture. What I hated: - Niki/Jessica. I was hoping they would kill her off instead of DL. Her story is totally boring, and the way she "changes" between her two personalities just makes me roll my eyes every time. Yeah, this storyline isn't getting any better IMO. Though I do wonder if Niki will now have full control. I'm really tired of the switching back and forth and would just rather have Jessica or Niki full time at this point. I'm glad the finale is next week, it looks pretty good! I think the whole bomb thing is starting to drag a little IMO, that might be why I haven't felt good about the last few episodes. Yeah I'm not that excited about the bomb at all, it does feel like they've talked about it a bit too much and given us too many details, unless there is a mega twist in the finale! Idemandashrubbery 05-16-2007, 02:15 AM So....you finally get to capture a radioactive man, he practically begs you to confine him in maximum security, and you drive him away in one, unguarded, van, with practically NO soldiers inside and nothing driving alongside to patrol, when you know there is a killer about with superpowers. You DO, however, tie up the radioactive guy, even though you know he can burn your ropes (or even metal) in nanoseconds. Then when he gets killed, you calmly walk by and state that kind of thing happens. Either Audrey made a pact somewhere down the line with Sylar, or this deserves an emmy for crappy writing. Besides if you were just told there was a killer about who cuts off heads, and you have nuclear power, would YOU calmly let yourself get captured? And then when the bus turns over just mewl like a baby when someone is standing in front of you? Not fry him on the spot, no, you just calmly wait in line for your portion of head removage. And Peter couldn't just have pushed some FBI away with telekinesis and touched Ted to become invisible too, no, he just leaves him there, because we know Peter is so egoistic, and not an empath, right? Seems like a LOT of loopholes to go through just to make sure Peter gains Ted's ability, then kill Ted off to Sylar, so they both have it. If they keep contriving it like this they might want to do a job interview as a Lost writer. Do we know Linderman can't heal himself like Claire? Ted should have fried Sylar... Ladybug_ocean 05-18-2007, 07:31 PM Anybody else find it strange and a bit stupid of Sylar to use Isaac's name when speaking to Audrey? They're gonna find Isaac's body sooner or later with his head cut off in the same manner as all of his other victims. I think she'll put two and two together. I guess it's likely she won't really remember his face. :undecide: Also, did he eat Claude's brain or something? He seemed to just disappear at the end of that scene. |
