There's a 6 (maybe 8? I've seen conflicting information) part show that starts airing July 22 on Spike TV called The Kill Point. While I would normally only pay attention to Spike for CSI repeats, this one caught my eye (couldn't have been the inclusion of a Wahlberg, could it?) It stars Donnie Walhberg as a hostage negotiator and John Leguizamo as a bank robber. I haven't seen a clip of it yet, but it seems interesting. And, since it's only 6 hours long, it isn't too much of an investment.

Also Spike appears to be playing the new episode several times a week so if you miss it Sunday night you can catch it later in the week at you convience.

btw: I love it, something legitimately entertaining during the summer months no need to watch those lame reality shows about dancing and inventing crap, although sadly I do watch Big Brother.

Glad to hear you like it. I haven't started it yet - I have 2 on TiVo. I started Damages and have been watching Heroes season 1 (for the first time), so I have a lot of TV on my plate. :)

It's an 8 part series, but the first ep and the last ep are two hours each.

I've read a bit about it, seen the first three ep's and I think it's really quite good. The characters don't act like you'd expect them to act, necessarily, and there's excellent writing and acting. Full of surprises.

During one of the last episodes there's about five minutes without any dialogue at all - interaction between our two main protagonists. Really looking forward to that and how it all ends. Should be entertaining.

Well, I saw the first 2 hours, which were excellent, and I have the next hour queued up on tivo for tomorrow. I found the speech by Mr. Wolf about his war hero credentials a little gratuitous - they were claimed aimed at the audience as a political commentary. But, besides that, I thought the writing was fantastic. Great crop of actors as well, and it's nice to see some diversity on a show!

Good stuff, still on edge from watching.

Wow, is anyone else still watching this show? The last episode "Pro Patria" was phenomenal, and the preview for the next looks INTENSE. Is anyone out there?

I thought it was excellent right up to the end. I don't know, I think it could have been a better ending, more up to the calibre of the rest of the show.

Maybe it's because I'm Canadian,
and I used to work in a bank,
and I know we got computers,
and anyone trying to get cheques made out payable to all the bank robbers,
well that would certainly raise a flag,
and the RCMP would be riding in to save the day.......

I wasn't completely sold on that either, I still loved it though seeing our beautiful flag flapping in the wind as the final shot of the show was very pleasing to me, why did he get a cheque for all of them did he not know they were dead, he should have known when they didn't show up that they were dead or in jail, it was a small town so maybe they didn't know about the robbery, I guess you could explain how he was able to get away with the cheques it's not like anyone knew they money was in Canada except the kid and I don't think he would tell anyone.

The checks were made out to the family members of the HTs, not them personally, ie one was for Luke Mendez, the sargent's son.

Anyway, I just finally watched it, and I agree, the final ep wasn't on par with some of the early ones. Some things were just too distractingly wrong, like the police chief being in a gun fight. My husband kept commenting on how they were holding their guns incorrectly or that snipers don't sway that much.

But, that parts that were good were really really good. Like Mendez tricking the woman into leaving the bank, the bank manager stabbing Pig in the back, Mendez saying "stand down corporal", when Horst and Mendez first saw each other before the final chase.

Overall, I thought it was an excellent miniseries, a good human drama and some interesting insight into the situation our soldiers are in. And I definitely enjoyed me some Walhberg and Leguizamo. :)

Yeah, I did get a kick out of that, too.

And I remember back to earlier when they were setting up the wire transfers, one of the guys said because of all the re-routing it would be very hard for them to track the money. So I guess that was their way of explaining they were going to get to the money eventually.

And thanks, jennylee for explaining about the cheques, I didn't notice the full names.
