Re: So if Desmond really crashed the plane
I haven't read all 15 pages, so I don't know if this has been mentioned before (back on the Lost boards after being gone since the finale)--but I see nothing inconsistent about the fact that the plane crash was an accident, and the incredible coincidences of everyone on board the plane together, that may be connected in the past.
We know that Hanso was working on mathematical probability experiments--this sounds a lot like what Isaac Asimov described in his Foundation series--the ability to predict, or at least somewhat know the future based on the study of mathematics applied to complicated systems. (This is not so much sci-fi--we do this all the time predicting the weather!)
So based on their mathematic probability studies, the Hansos are able to sneak a peak into the future--but more than that, this ability gives them the ability to start manipulating people and events, because they know where people are going to be, etc.
It would appear that all of the Losties have been studied by Hanso, or at least part of their experiments, for a long time, and manipulated to be on that plane. The plane crash may have been an accident, but that doesn't mean that Hanso did not know it was going to happen!
