Read below at your own risk. I'm so disturbed by this. Complete disrespect for the character and the fans.
Spoiler:
Q: Are we ever going to get back-stories for Rousseau, Libby, and/or Walt or does that now fall by the wayside with only thirty-four episodes left?
Cartlon Cuse: Let's just say you will get more information about Rousseau and Walt at least. We can't comment about who will or wont get full-on flashbacks. Obviously as the story moves forward we'll be answering questions at a faster rate. But some stories -- like Libby's -- we feel are pretty much finished.
Spoiler:
What is the time line of comments by TPTB about Libby? In Sept of 2007 we read this in TV guide "But Lost executive producer Carlton Cuse confirms to me exclusively that the actress will be playing Hurley's dearly departed sweetheart again this season for multiple episodes, presumably in more flashbacks. She'll be in enough of the show for us to fill in the missing pieces of her story," says Cuse. "We could not be more pleased. Cynthia is a smart and engaging actor, and [executive producer] Damon [Lindelof] and I have some very cool parts of her story left to tell." " Now we have a comment that her story line is done. When did they decide that the very cool parts of her story are not worth telling?

That is what annoys me,
Spoiler:
They say one thing and change there minds, they have said they will tell her story for seasons, now they dont.
will be upset, If they say they ran out of time, then thats there fault. They committed to shorter seasons, they should be able to tell the story.
I want to know her story, It bugs me that the writers promise so much, only to not commit to it. How many times have we heard Libby's story will be told sometime.
The magic of writing, is that questions can be answered quickly if need be, whether it is
a bear cage, or a shark tank, smells like carrots, or what's at the end of a cable into the ocean
if they want to tell her story they just have to do it, time isn't an excuse
I don't need a Libby episode, I'd just like to know the rest of her story that fits into ours
She's made some of the best flashback cameos in the series, now we just need a few more

Agreed, agreed, agreed. If they don't get back to her, I'm going to consider it to be a pretty big flaw when the show is done and over with.
I agree. I think we all want to know more about Libby. Personally I want to know what the heck she was doing on the same ward as Hugo, not to mention the whole deal with her boat, Elizabeth. That girl sure gets around!
