1. So basically, in this scenario, Sawyer is Faramir? LOL. Well, it does fit, doesn't it? At least in terms of Juliet's story...
lol yeah! (if other Julieters will indulge a moment of Suliet-ness...)
And it kind of fits with EM's quote about Suliet
Quote:
"But in the watching of Sawyer and Juliet, there is this idea that it's not the joy that we share that brings us together, but it's our shared pain. It's actually the connection that we as humans have to one another and what can bond us closer than anything else is that understood pain...
I think they found solace with each other and a resting place. Neither have had that in their
lives so they found a place to heal and be together."
Eowyn and Faramir met in "The Houses of Healing" after they had both lost almost everything.
Actually, I think EM would have made a fantastic Eowyn in the LOTR movies! Not that I have anything against Miranda Otto or anything. But yeah
I feel like this description of Eowyn could be of Juliet, as well. lol
Quote:
"Grave and thoughtful was her glance, as she looked on the king with cool pity in her eyes. Very fair was her face, and her long hair was like a river of gold. Slender and tall she was in her white robe girt with silver; but strong she seemed and stern as steel, a daughter of kings. Thus, Aragorn for the first time in the full light of day beheld Eowyn, Lady of Rohan, and thought her fair, fair and cold..." ~Tolkien, LOTR:TTT
Anyway.. I promise... my LOTR musings are done Back to our regularly scheduled Juliet talk..

See? Now you've ruined me. Now in my heart of hearts I'm gonna be there imagining that TPTB were actually casting for their own version of Eowyn when they created the Juliet role!! LOL. It ain't like it isn't possible, both Damon and Carlton are major geeks; they are obviously aware of the character.

And yep. Mitchell would have killed in that role.
LOL! At least I won't be the only one thinking it anymore I'm working on a side-by-side pic comparison of Juliet/Eowyn now....
Randomly came across a nice little blog/episode recap (of "some like it hoth") that had awesome things to say about Juliet/EM:
Quote:
"you know, she just rocks. i'm discovering that my ideas of what the 'behavior of awesomeness' would be are actually defined by elizabeth mitchell's performance of juliet. when roger linus innocently enters the infirmary, she has a tiny moment of hesitation.. she doesn't know what to do: 'should i lie and say we moved him to another area? should i stall, should i join in his panic? should i incapacitate him? (we know that she could, too).' unlike last week's scene with ben and cesar, in which ben's lies were horribly transparent, here's a scene where the lie is played correctly. juliet's ability to improvise is impressive, (kate just kind of watches her do it) and her moment of stillness before uttering... 'well. here we go' is just kickassery at its finest. as john august said in his blog, 'i would watch juliet boil water for an hour.' "

Well that is cool.
Spoiler:
Ausellio's reporting she'll be back for an "unspecified" number of episodes. I hope it's a decent number of them - she really is one of the best women they've had on the show.
If there is no free will, redemption is meaningless.

Thank you so much for posting this. Very interesting stuff there. It's cool that Juliet says "Live together Die alone" and that's the exact name of the episode where Desmond blows up the hatch. A lot of hints that lead to the conculsion Juliet could be very much alive.
There isn't much going on nowadays so I thought I could put some fuel into the fire with some more thoughts and speculation about the possibility of Juliet being pregnant.
We already know that Juliet spoke of "timing" when asked about having a kid by Amy, and she mentioned "time" again when holding her hand over her stomach. But the Rose & Bernard scene made me realise something more: R & B had already tried to similarily help Sun back in "The Whole Truth" in season 2 (and season 5 is supposed to mirror season 2) when she was suffering from morning sickness, and Sun was definitely pregnant there. They offered her too something to drink at that time, I think. I recall that Sun also held her hand on her stomach in the morning sickness scene. Could there be a reason for why Juliet's stomach touch was done in the presence of R & B? It's noteworthy that TWT is the 16th episode of season 2, and the new R & B scene took place in the 16th episode (part 1 of The Incident) of season 5, which is said to mirror season 2. Secondly, the fact that they offered her TEA of all things could be another reference to Sun, since tea is generally associated with Asia, where Sun and Jin are from.
"Tea has played a significant role in Asian culture for centuries as a staple beverage, a curative, and a status symbol", according to Wikipedia. Another thing was that Sawyer and Kate were both involved when Sun was trying to find out if she was pregnant, and they were also there with R & B and Juliet. Sun went to Sawyer for a pregnancy test, and then Kate helped her use it. One thing I'm sure about is that if Juliet were to survive this difficult situation and truly turn out to be pregnant at this late stage with just about 12-13 hours of effective screentime left, it won't just be some random kid of no importance, but could actually be Jacob himself, whether he's from the past or a future time traveller. I honestly can't see a better way to establish a link between the 815 Losties (Sawyer) and Jacob than this. Lookwise (eyes, hair, height etc.), he could very well be taken for Juliet's possible son. Even Jacob's manners and mentality, being smart, calm, secretive and caring and yet appearing to have a colder highly manipulative streak, seems to have more in common with Juliet than any other female (with the exception of Eloise Hawking) we've seen in the show. Otherwise there would be no narrative point in even thinking about introducing another (possible) pregnancy this late into the show amidst everything else that needs to be dealt with. I wouldn't put even something as crazy as this aside, especially with the time references, and considering that any number of weird and confusing things can happen at this stage (which Matthew Fox has implied).
Also, Jacob was seen reading the book "Everything That Rises Must Converge". Let's see here:
Quote:
Her doctor had told Julian's mother that she must lose twenty pounds on account of her blood pressure, so on Wednesday nights Julian had to take her downtown on the bus for a reducing class at the Y
This is the opening sentence for ETRMC. Notice how there are FIVE possible references to Juliet's flashbacks in this opening sentence alone: her being a doctor, Julian (her nephew), a bus (one ran over Edmund), Juliet's introduction scene taking place on a Wednesday (I checked for the 22nd September 2004 with MS Windows' built-in calendar) and the song "Downtown" which she listened to in her first scene. Not to mention the biblical ties between Rachel and Jacob. God, this is mindboggling. Could there really be so many coincidences and still mean nothing?
