there isn't going to be a next season ABC didn't order LOST for a second season, They were very pleased with the shows ratings and all but they felt dragging the show on would be counter productive which is why the finale was bumped up from 90 Minutes to 2 hours to tie up the shows loose ends. I agree with ABC completely.

which is why it was so widely reported in the press that ABC had given it an early pick up (along with 3 other shows)

Well, but I do not understand it! Maybe I am wrong or you, Steven Madea, known from CSI:Miami, signed a contract on Touchstone TV. He will be a producer and writer of LOST.

About the producer and director changes...do shows usually change that in the middle of the show?

But there is definitly LOST season 2. I have heard from another thread that it will continue to be on Wensday nights but it will be moved back and hour to 8 pm est, and Alias moves to another night.

Just read that Samuel L. Jackson is going to be on the first episode of Lost's second season. The title of the episode is "Genesis".
