Hey guys, I know that I'm new around, and this is my first post, but I've been lurking around the forum for a couple days without posting useless stuff, so now I think I've found something worthy.
Not sure if any of you are aware, but theres a wierd site that I've found when I was about to enter the dharmawantsyou.com site. I accidentally typed darmawantsyou.com without the H, and look what I've went into: http://www.darmawantsyou.com
The game is just starting, so at this point anything is clue... so take a look and take your conclusions
Thanks for the post. It is definitely worth looking into!!!
"If the Universe came to an end every time there was some uncertainty about what had happened in it, it would never have got beyond the first picosecond. And many of course don't. It's like a human body, you see. A few cuts and bruises here and there don't hurt it. Not even major surgery if it's done properly. Paradoxes are just the scar tissue. Time and space heal themselves up around them and people simply remember a version of events which makes as much sense as they require it to make."
Just went to the site. Looks like the site administrator... or "Jacob" has realized his www is very close to Dharmawantsyou.... Here is what he has on his first page now...l
Dharma Wants You
Has There Been An Incursion On This Site By The Hostiles?
You most likely reached this site by accident.
You're probably looking for DharmaWantsYou.com, the gateway website for the Dharma Initiative Recruiting Project.
As a big fan I was equally excited about playing their game, and also made the same typo as you in my haste to check it out.
Upon getting over my shock that such a common typo hadn't been registered by the creators of the site, I decided to be a good samaritan and register it myself to point fellow fans in the right direction with this note before a more sinister cybersquatter used it for evil purposes. (You’re lucky I’m one of the good guys.)
As long as I have you here, allow me a quick shameless plug:
If you believe in the Dharma Initiative and you enjoy time travel, check out my novel Timely Persuasion. You'll probably like it too. (No need to visit now, but bookmark it for later...)
It was a great catch. and good first post. You have picked a very friendly message board to join. The mods keep us safe, and nice. There are so many wonderful people here. We even have a good time together in the very long lags between seasons and ARG!!!
So don't be afraid to post. If you need anything, you are welcome to message me. I will help or point you in the right direction. The most important advice I can give you is to make sure you spoilerfont!!! If in doubt, spoilerfont...LOL!!!
Ohh... and join the discussion at the QUEST thread. They are a great group of people. They put up with me!!!

SamG... love the photo of the unexpected Dharma Logo. Coincidence? I think not... Reminds me of the morning I walked in my backyard, and there, facing me was a Dharma Van. Ok, not really. But my neighbor has bought two vans, similar to Dharma Van's. He is fixing one up in his garage, and the other is spare parts, and sits facing my back yard to haunt me every day. Apparently, they are worth some money?? who knew??
I think the swan logo is different on the video because all the Dharma logo's on each video, show as white writing on a black background. But that does not mean there isn't more to it.
I also like the incident in association to a Black Swan. And unexpected event..
I know, I am very hard headed. But I think I am going to stick with Transformation. Represented by the ugly duckling transforming into a beautiful swan. Or transformation like a swan maiden. And many other myths and lore of shapeshifting, or evil curses transforming people into swans...
I had mentioned the swan changing from ugly to beautiful some posts back because, along with the directions of what this mission seems to entail, I think it is about transformation. And like you cited from wiki, their mission for the island's electromagnetic energy was to be used to transform the world into a better place (as the *ugly* baby swan transforms into a beautiful animal, so would the world be a more beautiful place without wars and oil depletion). I'm onboard with you!
I can make all kinds of connections with transformation to many characters and happenings. But I think I would be reading a little bit to much into it. I like the idea of Dharma trying to transform the world into a more beautiful place.

This is my first ARG (I can't believe I actually just said that!) and I'm quite excited. I passed the test on the website and the main log-in page has the "Volunteer Assessment Commencing Soon" message on it.
Now we just wait, right? I'm not sure how involved I need to be to get through it, so I'm not sure if I missed something or not. :\

Oh, your first ARG, you'll see how cool is to be in one, I'm sure you'll love it.
It just occurred to me: do we have any idea why the station was called "The Swan" in the first place?
Maybe there's a link to Cycnus, the son of Apollo, who was turned into a Swan?
Quote:
Cygnus is the Latin word for swan, romanized form of the Ancient Greek κύκνος (kyknos) "swan"
There's an Apollo link to The Staff too I think, not to mention Apollo Candy!
There's a few other Greek mythology-inspired names in LOST, Cerberus, Hydra.
It seems to be The DI's way to mix & match different cultures and ideologies?
Quote:
The Arrow...well...that's unclear, too
The Arrow of time, maybe?
Horace Goodspeed was a mathematician who worked in The Arrow and according to the BDM it's primary function was as a restocking and staging area for the D.I.H.G.
I think it could be related to the food drops?
Quote:
Damon Lindelof: DHARMA drops...
Carlton Cuse: DHARMA drops -
Damon Lindelof: Will we ever learn?
Carlton Cuse: [sigh] You know, that's good. I mean, that- that's- that recalls a lot of history with the show but, I think that next year we will be dealing uh, a little bit more significantly with some DHARMA things and I think DHARMA drops might be one of those questions that season five will provide you with the answer for. Not gonna happen between now and the finale, but when you- when the show is back next season, I'm thinkin DHARMA drops will be your - if that's really what you need to know about the show, I feel like you will feel satisfied.
Damon Lindelof: If a DHARMA drop happens on the wrong bearing, does that mean that something can get dropped off in like 1965 and arrive in 2005?
Carlton Cuse: I think that's an episode.
Damon Lindelof: Whoa... [Carlton chuckling] alright I'm gonna write that one down.

I would say that any reference to the Swan, especially given that it's been destroyed, would have to make some reference to the significance of the name
...but I say it so the other half may reach you.

The thing I remember most from the Arrow is the glass eye. Wonder if we'll ever find out about that?!
