That's why I hate watching the show on a crappy hotel TV. The sound sucks and I missed that line. I wish they kept it on Thursday so I could watch it at home

I have surround sound, but for Lost I also use a Sennheiser headset and turn on close caption. Don't want to miss anything. Earlier today there was a discussion in one of the threads about the presence of birds on the island... some were saying there were only the hurley birds, Claire's flock, and the chickens. Well tonight, I clearly heard birds in the background in one scene, AND the close caption confirmed it..
When I listen to it, sounds like Miles is saying "this place" and not "us." This is after Charlotte asks Miles if he thinks Widmore is looking for "us." I think you morphed the two lines together.
Still, it seems to imply that Widmore lost track of the island in the early 80s, and perhaps (if Charlotte and Miles are both island natives) his losing track has something to do with them being taken from the island when they were very young.
If they are natives, it can't be coincidence that Widmore hired them. Either they sought to be hired by Widmore or he specifically sought them knowing that they were natives. There must be some advantage to being born on the island or having previously lived on it.
