New Jin or Old Jin?

Was that the same Jin from the original O815 plane crash? Or was there a part of Jin's life we have not seen before where he was on the island? Before he met Sun. A Jin where in the original time line, got off the island and went on to meet and marry Sun.

No no. Same Jin. Island Jin. The O5 are in whatever time (probably 70s, when the DI was in full swing) the Lefties last flashed to. They flashed on the plane (the bright light).

Huh didn't think of that. I assumed that the final TT flash of last episode took them to the 1970s, and that's the Jin we know now. If it's not the Jin we know now, he won't know English!

Seriously? So he got off the island, fell in love with sun, went to work for her dad, forgetting how much it sucked, and decided to be a dick again until he got on the plane?

Old Jin, since he recognized them and smiled.

Re: New Jin or Old Jin?

I'm pretty sure its the original Jin. If he were on the island during the Dharma days he would've looked much younger in that last scene.

Re: New Jin or Old Jin?

But how would he have had time to immerse himself with the Dharma group if he was simply flashing along with the rest of the leftbehinds? Perhaps for some reason he stopped flashing, or the leftbehinds simply haven't flashed in a while, which would have forced him to adapt with his surroundings.

Or maybe Richard saw him on the island and brought him in??

Re: New Jin or Old Jin?

The setting they are in now is most likely in the 70's. Are you asking if Jin was in Dharma in his real life back then, left the island and 30 years later meets Sun and crashes on the island? If so, Jin not aging is the problem with this theory.

That is what I was thinking. It would take him awhile to become so trusted that they would give him a gun, van, and suit. And the flashes don't last that long.

Re: New Jin or Old Jin?

I'm thinking that for some reason he's been "living out" the time that he missed rather than just skipping around, because his reaction to seeing Jack and Kate and Hurley was not immediate recognition it was more of amused suprise
