Who is the random person that sits with the island members in first class?
he is the guy that also offers his condolences to jack in the airport line and jack had a perplexed look
also why is he the only other person that hadnt been to the island other then the officer escourting sayid that sat in first class

Since Mrs. Hawkings said that everything had to be as close to the original crash as possible, to me he was just representing Sayid, single middle eastern guy, on the plane.
Since all the other O5 seemed to have represented other survivors of the plane crash, he was taking Sayid place.

Since only two non-regular Losties are in first class, I'm pretty sure this isn't the last we'll see of either this guy or the marshal. According to the press releases

His name is Caesar and hers Ilana. The casting of both of them received media press coverage, so I think they may be this year's new recurring/possible regular characters.

Yeah they both seemed like they are going to be recurring characters this season. Too much emphasis was on both of them to think otherwise.

I think everyone is taking this too literally. Everything doesn't have to match O815. If that guy "is" Sayid and Sayid is Kate, Hurley is Charlie, etc. Who takes Hurley's place and who does Kate represent? What about the Tailies? Obviously not everyone can be represented, there are at least 77 fewer people on the plane.
