Just "Googling" there are plenti-o-LeFleur stuff around the world - in fact there's LeFleur Bluff in Mississippi which said it was named after a French Canadian by the name of Louis LeFleur.
Here is the Family Crest of the LeFleur's - and its origin seems to be in Normandy. LeFleur
Thank you for this link! being from Montreal and living in New Orleans sporadically, this was very, very interesting to me. The ironic part in this link, is that the original 10,000 Acadians who were exiled to New Orleans, were so exiled because they refused to pledge allegiance to the British... but if you look at the situation now, the french that stayed in Quebec have fought and won strong support for their language in Canada, while in Louisiana and the south in general, the french language has been strongly anglicized.
I am guessing that the two different names "de la fleur" and "la fleur" were somehow mixed up over the years by non-french speaking people in the south.. and voila, 'lefleur' ! (like brangelina, for example )
there was something said by one of the guys who thought up this episode that they made the spelling mistake on purpose. so there may be hidden connections, and we know how much they love to make us think. might just be that the dharma initiative ran out of A's to print on the overalls. haha
Well even though I'm a Leafs fan and therefore loathe the Habs by default... Lefleur just seems wrong.
So here's a question. When does Sawyer find time to become the best French Canadian hockey player of the 70s?
haha...Vive les Canadiens!...at least we aren't stuck with Martin Gerber for the rest of the year...hopefully Price can get his head out of his butt before they miss the playoffs...
...i think people are looking WAYYY too much into the spelling of Lefleur...were there any threads on the way Shephard was spelled?
