Sayid and Eko (mirror)

Eko saved his younger brother from being forced to murder a man.

Sayid saved his older brother from being forced to murder a chicken.

(I'm sure no men and no chickens were harmed in the filming of this show)

This is as close as it might get to my theory that the young boy in Eko's FB was a teenage Sayid.

R.I.P. Keamy...wonderfully scary...I love him. Hope I don't have nightmares.
Favorite characters: Smokey and Vincent...TPTB killed my 5 previous favorites.
I wear ruby slippers to watch LOST.
I'm not obsessed with LOST...just very, very interested.

Ooh, not familiar with your teenage Sayid theory (interesting though!) but when the dad gave not-Sayid the gun, I totally said "This is just like Eko!" Interesting parallel for sure!

Yay, glad someone else saw that in this epi.

teenage Sayid theory:
It was the way the camera focused on that boy in the doorway, after drug-dealer Eko slit the mens' throats. He told the boy to go and tell everyone who had spared him, and the boy whirled around and left.

Back then, everyone was going crazy with looking for more character connections (back before we completely figured out LOST ). And with Sayid's backstory, it seemed like maybe somehow he had spent some time with Eko.

Re: Sayid and Eko (mirror)

Hm, I think Tabby isn't very serious about that theory, but is mainly just drawing parallels between the two stories. To be honest, Tabs, I hadn't even thought of Eko (b/c we just haven't seen him in so long), but I know that he is one of your faves, so I'm glad you thought of it. Very good point.

It was also just nice to finally see a Sayid as child FB. We've had one for most of the original 815ers at this point.

Eko's "little brother" FB, or drug-dealer Eko's FB?

I don't think I have any screencaps handy of either (and can't make any). The drug-dealer/theoretical-young-Sayid can't really be appreciated with just a screencap--it would need to be a video.

You're right and wrong, LOL.

I was drawing a parallel/mirror between the 2 canon FB's (Eko's and Sayid's).

But I referred to an old "wish list theory" of mine about it being a teenage Sayid in Eko's drug-dealer FB. It was an impression from waaaaay back when--back before we knew anything about Sayid's childhood.

Re: Sayid and Eko (mirror)

We've seen jack get beaten up on a schoolyard or something of the sort.
I remember them saying "Stay down Jack." He was young.

Don't think we've seen FB of the others that young....
