after reviewing several older Lost episodes, I started thinking about Kate and the marshall...I believe now that Kate was in fact a FBI Agent who infiltrated and bank robbery ring...things went wrong, people got killed, Kate became a target...I think the marshall knew something...I think she must have uncovered something or crossed someone...I definitely feel that she was a law enforcement officer of some sort that ended up on the run...if you really think about it, her skill set fits...I just don't understand why she is keeping it all secret...
I don't know if she was an FBI agent, but I do believe Kate was in law enforcement.....there have been a lot of signs indicating the possibility, from the tracking skills to the way she looked at the marshal's badge Sawyer tossed at her. I can't wait until Born to Run airs.....I hope we get a few answers.
her compulsion to save people...her strength and agility...her instincts...there are a number of things that point to training...natural ability as well...I feel like she is measuring everyone up...

That's a good theory Transmission! It's obvious she has had special training of some sort......I just haven't picked up enough clues to help me narrow it down. Hopefully her next ep will give us something that will help put it in perspective.

I also agree Transmission that Kate had to have previous experience with militia or law enforcement. I'm not sure if she was FBI, but she does know an awful lot about tracking and bank heists. ;D You dont just pick up that stuff on the streets. Her father probably did have a large influence on that aspect of her life.

I'm very anxious to learn more about Kate's father. Daddy issues are such a looming thing over pretty much everyone on the island. Kate's voice when she talked about her father didn't really sound affectionate, or like there was a pain of a loss when she thought of him. She sounded almost angry when she said hunting was 'his religion'. I strongly believe somehow he had a huge influence, either directly or indirectly, on the paths Kate chose to take.

Yes LostNLuv, ITA, I think her father had a big influence and it almost seems like it could have been a negative one, cause your right. When she was telling Jack about her father it sounded like she was telling him about a subject she wasn't proud of. Perhaps her father was even involved in or the victim of the murder she allegedly committed. I'm also very interested in learning more about him.
yea but arent FBI agents like not allowed to kill people unless its in self defense...she did kill those guys in the bank...and has a mugshot....and had a reward out for her capture.
EAZYJ.....what makes you think she killed those guys in the bank? Looked like she was very precise, and shot to injure....not kill. That's one of the reasons I think she has specialized training....she's darned good at what she does, and she handled that gun extremely well. Just because she was wanted for something and had a reward out for her capture does not preclude her having had specialized training prior to that.
