The Compass and the Knife.

So now we know Fake Locke takes Richard to shot Locke to heal him and thus sets up the scenario of Richard handing Locke the compass and giving him the instructions that he has to get off the island and die.

Now the real Locke will never have any knowledge or part of this contrary to Richard saying he sent him. So the whole leadership role of John was actually a con set up in that one moment by Fake Locke?

And if so does this have any new meaning to the young Locke choosing the knife over the compass? Seeing as the real Locke never actually set any of that initial meeting up.

And its the knife that Fake Locke uses to (have Ben) kill Jacob. He is more connected to the knife.

Re: The Compass and the Knife.

I think the point is that the knife has more relevance than Richard knew himself.
