ok so im not sure if im in the right place here....or if i have missed this being caught on already but....... im rewatching season 3, and in catch 22 when desmond says goodbye to brother campbell he has a photo on his desk posing with older ellie. did i miss this discussion?
I brought up the monk a few weeks ago and the response was that people were expecting more from him, as am I. He might be working with Ellie to get Desmond going in the right direction. He might be something the writers decided to drop. Who knows.
I doubt we see him again. Minor character at this point, with many more bigger things to tackle with only 1 season left.
Plus, his function has already been explained (in a way, IMO) through the stories of Ellie and Abbadon... Seems like there are certain people who are "in the know" b/c they've either time travelled, or have spoken w/ people who have, and thus are trying to get people to the right places to do certain things... Ellie, Abaddon, and Brother Campbell (Is that his name? I'm just going off memory here....) all seem like such people.

It's a funny photo because its soooo obviously Photoshopped!
I doubt that any more of this storyline will be fleshed out, but who knows for sure? There are a lot of questions surrounding Ellie and Charles that I believe are vital to understanding the others and their motives. Maybe Brother Campbell will show up in some season 6 flashbacks.
Has anyone started a ship involving these two? We could call it 'Bellie" -- which is short for campBELL and Ellie ....
