Just me?

I'm waiting for Walter to call Astrid "Astral Projection". I don't think he's called her anything yet this season, has he?

Fell asleep last night so I tried to squeeze the episode in this morning. Why did Hughes have a lab in his house? Was he a scientist before being a farmer?

Re: Just me?

He called her something weird last episode...I just can't remeber what it was...the only thing I can really remeber about it that she and him and I think Peter were all looking at something and he said..."Pass me the spoon, Astrobyte." "Astrid." Obviously, those aren't the correct lines. But yes, he did call her the wrong name already.

This episode confused me but I think this what happened:
He had a lab in his house because his wife had lupus, lupus prevents women from bearing children. But when they do manage to get pregnante the lupus basically "eats" the fetus. So, he put some sort of scoprion DNA in the fetus to help it survive the lupus. That is why the wife died during childbirth, and that weird little thing that stole Olivia (and nearly gave me a heart attack.) was the baby. Or 17 year old mutant.

Does that make sense? I didn't fully understand it myself, so its kind of hard to explain.

Re: Just me?

Hughes was a doctor but quit practicing 20 years ago. Must have been trying to help his wife who then died 3 years later in childbirth.

Re: Just me?

Thanks for that clarification. I wasn't getting how a small town farmer could manage to swing the DNA diddling. yeah, poor mutant baby! That was a great shot of Olivia getting snatched and dragged away.

Re: Just me?

This week he did call her by the right name. We were discussing this in the episode thread last week.

Re: Just me?

I liked this ep. It had a horror movie vibe to it. Creepy guy who knows more than he's telling, a monster, and creepy house.

Re: Just me?

Is there a list somewhere of all the names he's called her so far?

Re: Just me?

I think there's one somewhere in the 1st season. Oh, maybe it's not just dedicated to the variations of "Astrid"
