Smokey's true identity NOT MiB?

We've seen Smokey impersonate a lot of people, so who's to say that the man we saw at the end of S5 was Smokey's true form and not just some random dead person? A decoy. I've seen people complain that there's no good reason not to reveal his name by now. Maybe there is.


Part of me has been thinking that Smokey is actually alt-Locke (after some complicated time loop). This would explain why Darlton insist that the Flash-Sideways are important and why they say, "Just call him Locke." But alt-Locke just seems a bit too well-adjusted.

This theory also opens the door for Smokey to be Eve (making Jacob Adam). If I'm not mistaken, Richard has gone out of his way to refer to Smokey as "it" rather than "him". Dogen did not, but I don't imagine he knew as much as Richard.

Just a thought.
