Love is "The Constant".

I guess it's becoming quite clear. The timeline thing will be resolved with Love being the Constant that brings everything full circle. The only thing giving our losties a glimpse of their former life on the island is a love for someone. Don't know how I feel about such a thing. A bit simplistic IMO, though I know there are those who will tuck themselves into bed smiling over such a thing.

I guess Sayid could remember Shannon, Sun and Jin maybe remember their kid? Locke, I have no idea. He was in love with the island, so maybe that's it.

Ben loved and lost Alex, has her back in his life in the FS, yet he doesn't seem to remember the other timeline.

I would say it's pretty clear now that Libby is Hurley's "constant," and that both their rememberings were triggered by love.

Thanks for starting this thread. I too was struck by the Power that Hurley and Desmond seem to have. It's as if the Smoke Monster wants to STOP the love thing going on. For example, he takes Claire, leaves Aaron. Makes sure Alex is killed. Has a Mother shot her son. Kills Danielle's husband... there is more I'm sure others can think of.

I'd like to see Shannon come back and save Sayid... somehow. Rose and Bernard are safe... was it love that saved them?

I'm thinking there is a connection to the Love shared and MiB.

Oooh, yes, how could I forget about Rose & Bernard? They are living in the jungle and are NOT afraid of Smokey. It's as if he can't touch them at all.

Agreed that love is the constant, but then what is the variable? Still choice? Also, Im intrigued to find out just how "special" Jin and Sun's love is. Perhaps they have something to do with uniting the timelines.

There are many old stories where lovers are separated for a long, long time, and only come back to each other after many trials. Sun & Jin's story definitely isn't over, yet.
