Maybe he's getting caught up in the heat of the moment, and just sees this as his only chance to bolt crap-hole island... but he's really gonna ditch Miles?
I see things a little differently. It is not like Sawyer and Company have too many options to get out of craphole island left. Miles made his choice and will have to deal with the consequences of that choice. I am sure that Sawyer would love to have all his old cronies on board, but by waiting around and trying to find Miles (who may not want to get on the boat) he could be screwing his and everyone else's last chance out.
Unlikely, as the Fusies seemed pretty cool with Jack bailing ship and swimming back.
But the fact Sawyer is so willing to cut loose not only on Miles and Jack, but Sayid and Claire, didn't sit right. They're acting kooky? Knock 'em out, tie 'em up, and toss 'em on board! Claire tried to kill Kate? That's no small thing, but how often have these guys either tried to kill each other or just plain beat the snot out of each other? these guys should be like family by now!
It's pretty clear they're making Sawyer seem a little bull-headed right now; just as he previously accused Jack of reacting and not thinking, he's now going full steam ahead.
Miles made a choice between going to talk to a black smoke monster and not going to talk to black smoke monster.
I'm sure if the choice was laid out with the possibility of meeting up with Sawyer for an escape plan he might have rethought his position.
I'd just like to see a scene or least a line of dialogue where Sawyer asks what's up with Miles.
Richard and Ben have been on the island a long time. If they chose to go to the Barracks to look for explosives, and NOT to go talk to the smoke monster, I would have gone with them too! Hopefully, they aren't too close to those missiles.
Sawyer continues to disappoint this season, but you can't blame the guy. He had quite a turn around in seasons 4 and 5 and became quite the hero, and fell in love, and was happy for the first time in his life. All of that was ripped away from him. His pain is raw and he is bitter. He cares about little right now except for his friendship with freckles. He is very much like the Sawyer we had in Season 1. Just wanted to get on that raft and leave everyone and the island behind. Season 6 Sawyer wants to jump on a sub, maybe take a few people with him, but leave everybody else behind.
What would happen if you and your best friend all of a sudden found yourselves 6 years in the past, crashed on the LOST island from the very beginning with all of your favorite characters?
This is what happens to friends Ryan and Keven.
Knowing all they know about the Lost series, and having opposite points of view, find out what happens now as they start over from the very beginning.
I think he also knows that they need to get the heck out of there before something happens. So he is trying to save as many people as he safely can. Should he put them all in MORE jeopardy to save one person who chose not to stick with the Losties?

Not sure who you mean, Jack or Miles, but in either case the answer is yes. As I said, these people are like family now - a twisted, dysfunctional family, but a family nonetheless. That's the mistake Jack made the first go round leaving the island - he forgot his own rule: Live together, die alone. And as Jack noted, Sawyer knows it. He knows he's not doing the right thing, although he's in a tough spot and I'm sure that's how he's justifying it to himself. He just hasn't realized it yet.

I was talking about Miles (isn't that who this thread is about?) I think Sawyer believes he IS doing the right thing. He has spent time with FLocke & knows they need to get out of there.
