2 years ago, that he was the bad guy in all this. We haven't seen the end yet but I can't imagine how the FauxLocke is going to redeem himself at this point. What could possibly be a redeeming factor for John? Unless of course all is not as it seems.

If you think John is the villain... Well All I have to say is that you have a lot of catching up to do. I think you missed an episode or two along the way.
I've always found Locke's expression at the end of this episode very intriguing.

Definitely seems to be indicating something sinister going on with him. Its almost like they were telling us he was evil from the beginning and then helped us forget it along the way. "He's very persuasive"
I miss the old endings with the music. I'd love to see the final end with something like that.

Me too, I hope for a scene (maybe of past events through the series mixed in with an epic final climax) with Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Isreal Kamakawiwoʻole playing.
In my previous postings I thought John would be he bad guy by hook or by crook and that maybe John agreed to the takeover of his body and that even John was bad before the island. I covered all bases Even if it's just his body, we are seeing Locke for a reason.

That is entirely possible, but as I said in the other quote here, We are seeing Lockes body for a reason. By hook or by crook.

Yeah but how do you guys explain all that confused, scared, uncertain behavior that Locke demonstrated throughout the show in all those times when there was no one around to "persuade"? I mean the man was almost gonna hang himself. He didn't know who Henry Gale was, he had to go into the smoke tent to figure our stuff, he was yelling "what do you want me to do " to the hatch door (he had no idea what it was).. Was he just faking all that to persuade "the audience"??
I think there is no MIB. I think someone we know becomes him later on. It can be Locke, Desmond, Jack... I don't think there is just some exogenous "Bad Boss" that we can blame for everything. That would just be poor writing.
John Locke is DEAD in the Island reality. Whatever happened, happened. He is not the bad guy because he's no longer around. MIB can look like many things, and at the show's present time, he looks like John Locke. I agree we are seeing John Locke for a reason - in terms of the story, MIB explained already how contemptuous he is of Locke and how convenient it was that his body was returned to the island. In terms of the production of the show, Terry O'Quinn is one of the best there is, and it gives him a great opportunity to shine.
