I think that unfortunately, Claire will die. If she hasn't already. The scream that we heard last episode very well might have been Claire having the baby. She will likely die in labor, or perhaps post labor, just think about having a baby on a tropical island and the complications that would result. Also, she is listed as a guest star, not a regular character.
I think that we will also see Kate and Sawyer as love interests in the short term, but perhaps a shift to Jack long term. I don't have any particular reason for this aside from the chemistry that Sawyer and Kate share.
The only other thing I have to say is I would like to give much props to the writers for creating an extremely complex character in Sawyer. You love to hate him on one hand, but there is a genuine humanity there as well, and a genuinely good person emerging from the ashes of his former self. Awesome character!

While the psychic saw her baby being raised by "others," he didn't see her dying. Now I know he didn't see everything, but death is pretty major.

I said that I think we'll get Danielle's backstory, but that's all I voted for. I think that we'll learn more about the others, but will be left with more questions than answers. I don't think anyone will be gay, and I think that we might see some more kissing - but that no one with HIR this season. Claire - no because she'd have to wait 6 weeks to HIR after the birth of the baby, and I'm not sure that the first season covers that much time.
Kate - well, I think we'll see more kissing with possibly *both* Jack and Sawyer, but really - unless they've got a stash of birth control, I think everyone will be super hesitant to end up as the next pregnant one on the deserted island. Especially having seen Claire go through it.

Your right. Hmm. I never looked at it like that. And she should get the chance to fight for her baby. It would be crappy if she didn't. And they have to let us now what happens! That would just be cruel! You would think that if the psychic knew about the crash, he knew about the others. Obviously, if they interrupted his plan, he wouldn't have sent her. SO what does that mean? I don't know. Buts its a thought!
What's your reasoning, stonepuppy? I'm thinking it would be a bit of a risk for them to make the major character and potential HIR match with Kate gay. But maybe you figured something out I missed?
