burning questions

Hi Javi,

I have a couple of questions that I would like some help with, if you have the time.

1. A poster over on the abc board pointed something out to me about Danielle. I had assumed that since the iterated message had been repeating for 16 years that Danielle had been on the island for 16 years. This poster pointed out that perhaps Danielle changed the message but did not reset the iterations, therefore she could have changed the message anytime in the past 16 years. I figure that if Lenny and his military buddy heard the numbers repeating on the message over 16 years ago, and Danielle and her team heard the same numbers and changed their course to go towards the recording, then 16 years is the maximum that Danielle could have been there. I further speculate that Danielle was not aware of the Gulf wars, since she did not seem to think Sayid was a terrorist (an assumption that many of the survivors made based on his accent and looks). So if she was unaware of the Gulf wars (the first of which started in 1991), then that places her landing on the island at between 1988 (16 years ago if it is still 2004 on the island) and 1990. That means that Alex would be between 13 and 15.
Am I anywhere close on any of this?

2. The "security system". Lots of people are speculating about nanobot technology. Is this a red herring?

3. The DriveSHAFT website. Should we pay attention to any of the info over there, or is it simply a fansite? Specifically we are wondering about the "article" on Harold Wollstein. I am theorizing that Mr. Paik stole Wollstein's technology and that a pirated version of it is embedded in Jin's watch.

Thank you!!
Love the show, as always. I think the last scene of the finale should have been the "others" taking Walt, but ...

Take care,

Gia

Re: burning questions

hi gia!

1. that sounds about right. so i'll say yes, close. and danielle has indeed been on the island for 16 years.

2. red herring, at comicon damon said that the monster is not a cloud of nanites a la michael crichton's "prey".

3. that's a fansite.

thanks -
