Charles (Charlie)

Sayid

Shannon

Claire

Kathryn (Kate)

Sun
Korean, meaning 'Goodness'

Hugo
German, meaning 'From the name HUGH' which means...'Bright in mind and spirit'

Jin

But Sawyer's real name is James, and that means 'supplanter'

Michael
Hebrew, meaning 'who is like God'

Walter
Old German, meaning 'powerful warrior, rule army'

Vincent
Latin, meaning 'conquering'

Boone

And some of the people our main characters have been with...

Liam (Charlie's brother)
Irish, meaning 'unwavering protector'

Sara (Jack's ex)
Hebrew, meaning 'princess'

Brian (man that beat Shannon, and also Walt's step-father. Not the same man, mind you )
Celtic, meaning 'strong'

Lucy (Charlie's ex-girlfriend)
Latin, meaning 'light'

Lily (girl Charlie slept with at Sydney hotel)
Latin, meaning 'a flower'

Helen (woman Locke was talking to on phone)

I know I've left out a lot of people from the people that the characters had been with, so add on and tell me what you think about these observations

Re: Everyone's Name Meanings

Jack (jak) (Old English) Name based on John (Hebrew) "the Lord is gracious", or Jacques, the French form of Jacob (Hebrew) "he who supplants." The name has a rugged, down-to-earth aura. Jackie is used more for girls than for boys. Actors Jackie Gleason, Jack Nicholson, Jack Black; comedian Jack Benny; exercise guru Jack LaLanne.
